Everything was excellent

The staff were without exception genuinely charming, whether it was the receptionist on arrival, the bar man, or a chap in overalls, carrying a toolbox, who happened to be passing as I was waiting for a lift.

A minute detail: the screen for logging on to WiFi is a tad confusing.

Excellent, well trained staff. We didnt have dressing gowns in our executive suite as they arent provided as standard in that room category but they happily delivered them to us.

The bed is so comfortable.

Neither my mobile or tablet work in the rooms, also there was a big leak in the bathroom, reception sorted it out by the time we came back from our night out.

Excellent customer service provided by the friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble Will definitely go back again.

Very modern hotel. Everything comuterised or electronically operated from light switches to air temperature. Upgraded to a suite with a state of the art bathroom including tv in the bath. Smart, impressive looking hotel.

Parking facilities inaccurately represented on hotel description. Was good 10 minute walk away and hotel forgot to tell us to drop our bags first. Also £5 per stay does not refer to per stay at the hotel but per stay in the car park. So if you are planning on using your car during your trip can be very expensive. Also car park closes at 10pm so bad luck if you want to come back later - need to find alternative car park. Rooms only have showers, only suites have baths. Asked for upgrade due to mess up over parking and was given a suite. Did not have breakfast as was ridiculously priced at £15.75 per person for continental breakfast. Hiked back to car park opposite Bullring and found somewhere inexpensive!

The hotel was modern and clean with up to date facilities

I prefer to check in with a person via a reception desk not via a machine The fan in the bedroom was noisy and couldn't be switched off.

The rooms were incredible. Everything looked clean modern and complete luxury.

Some moody guy. Awkward greeting. (Think he was new though.)

Didnt like the checking in I like dealing with people not machines.Thought the breakfast was pricey my wife had one cup of tea two poached egg on one slice of bread for 12.00 pounds!!!!would have been nice had it been included in the price.

I really liked the 24 hour bar the room service was great the room was luxurious very friendly staff, great vibe to the place would stay again.

The hotel seemed to be in an odd location in the middle of a very busy road (not a complaint)

Clean hotel, nice restaurant friendly staff. Good shower, comfortable bed. Short walk to the bull ring. Good parking deal at Selfridges.

No I pod dock and media centre in the room as advertised at the time of booking.

Grandeur. The hotel is probably the best in Birmingham disregarding the location (which isn't wholly bad) and parking situation.

The parking situation. I would have enjoyed the whole experience a lot more if the hotel had its own parking attached to the premises. Its a bit of a mission driving round the block every time to get to the front of the hotel although it wouldn't put me off staying there again.

Disappointed with extras in executive room, wasn't worth the extra price. No hot breakfast available in room! This is normally one of our highlights of a night away. This is the only reason we wouldn't use the hotel again. Also no assistance or reminder on check out to validate car park ticket for cheaper rate, we didn't realise and when reaching car park had to pay £16 rather than the £5.00 we very told at check in, appreciate we could have come back to hotel to sort out but the snow prevented this. Maybe a reminder in the check out screen would prevent others from making the same error.

Receptionist gave very clear and concise directions to find the car park - better than my sat-nav - a very good start and representative of the excellent, helpful and friendly staff throughout our stay!! The restaurant serves superb quality food and was well worth the wait. Rooms are large, comfortable and well appointed with funky design elements. The hotel sits in a superb location for most of Birmingham's attractions.

Instant coffee in the rooms - a coffee bag or rombouts type of one-cup filter would be more in keeping. A party of 20 in the function room meant a 40 minute delay in a (one quarter full) restaurant - would expect the function to be covered with extra staff; we saw at least three couples turn around and walk off when told of the wait so probably lost money on it too. Shower flooded out the door of the bathroom.

- Awesome shower - location - top notch staff - good decor in bar area - good selection of drinks - parking only £5 for length of stay and valid until 9pm of the day of check out (selfridges) - media connectivity ( bring your own cables)

- A little Overpriced but would stay again - small wardrobe - no bathrobe - bit of a walk to car park - water from shower leaks into room (from other reviews seems to be design flaw) - no table service

no minibar; no slippers; no bathrobe; no radio 3 or radio 4 (this hotel targets itself at business so should have 'grown up' radio channels not just pop); pillows poor quality and uncomfortable - synthetic, not down; over-stylish lights meant can't turn on desk lamp from lamp itself; thin duvet too cold for this cold weather
