Refrigeration plant outside my room, kept awake all night with it going off and coming back on again with a boom. Booked restaurant and was then informed it was closed. Average breakfast.
Breakfast Restaurant Toiletries in bathroom
Size of room was small Room was impractical - where to plug in kettle? Kettle had to be filled from bath tap as would not fit under fancy tap in bathroom basin. Wine glasses provided which did not fit under tap easily.
Location was very convenient. The areas of the hotel were decorated in neutral shades which gave a modern, boutique feel in an older building.
The single rooms varied in size. Mine was quite small but adequate.
location and staff
was a bit scruffy, stairs were taped etc
room a bit tired
Very dog-friendly. Cleaning staff friendly (and greeted dog warmly). Reception always helpful. Valet parking service especially useful when you are struggling with luggage, Labrador etc. Location excellent. Always stay at the Lace Market when in Nottingham. Fantastic cocktails in the bar!
Cocktails perhaps a bit pricey, but fabulously delicious!
Good location. Food at Breakfast was lovely. Cocktail bar a nice extra that's open late after concerts.
Staff not the friendliest. Except guy in cocktail bar! Which was under staffed!!! Waited at least 15 mins while he ran round making drinks for a group in before us, but he still managed to be very polite and cheerful.
location. near to the FM arena.
The hotel is 'tired'. Needs a good spring clean and lick of paint. the tiles in the bathroom were chipped and dirty. and breakfast was cold.
Breakfast Comfy bed Location
The room was very tired looking. The light switch had a gaping hole behind it and the shower head needed an intense clean. The carpets leading up to the room had tape over them to cover the worn areas and were in need of a good clean. Very disappointed with the room.
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were attentive. Ideal situation for a single woman staying- safe location.
There was no choice for non meat eaters for dinner service in the rooms. Very poor selection overall and an out of date menu left in room with nothing from it available on request.
nothing, other than its location
the room next door was noisy, running water sounds all night!, the matress you could feel every spring and hadnt got a matress cover on it, all stained!!, no water in room or fridge, and a wedding the next day so breakfast was at 10.30 not 11 so we missed it even though we had payed for it!!!!
Staff very helpful and the breakfast was fantastic. Nice bar area with good friendly staff.
Rooms are starting to look a little tired . We paid for a better room but it wasn't that impressive with the upgrade .
For £155, the room was acceptable but not to the standard you would expect. There was mould around the bath, the decor was tired and not overly stylish, the communal areas were lovely, and the breakfast room was great. Shame the bedroom didn't coincide with this.
Food and drink prices
Great location and views from the studio. Great staff and a fab breakfast.
We both thought the room was looking tired. Shower door handle missing, valance falling away, scuffs in paintwork and so on. And for us, skimping on bathroom products tells a story on its own. All said, if it was brought up to date it would be amazing.
The staff were very good, friendly and helpfull. the breakfast was very good. the hotel was close to the centre but far enough away to be quiet at night.
the uneven floors but in a building of its age this was no downside to the hotel. parts of the hotel are a liitle dated maybe a bit of a revamp is due.
Service was good!!
Room on the shabby side needs painting as paint off walls, and carpets are threadbare in places, hallways etc, springs in bed too new mattress comes to mind!
I cannot fault the (young) and friendly reception staff. I arrived and having requested a quiet room away from the main thoroughfares was given a room on the 3rd floor at the back. It turned out to be stiflingy hot due to the towel rail being permanently on at full blast. However, it is impossible to raise the windows more than 2 inches so cooling the room down was impossible. It was also impossible to turn of the offending towel rail. I requested that this be done and eventually it was done late in the evening. Unfortunately this had resulted in a leak from the rail and during the course of the night I emptied 3 to 4 tooth beakers full of water, otherwise the bathroom/shower floor would have been awash. In the morning they moved my room so no complaint there. I think the "full English"breakfast need improving. Even though it was included in my room rate I would still say they were poor value with cheap & not very good ingredients, although they claim sourcing from top suppliers on the menu. The baked beans are supposedly locally produced using haricot beans ( tinned beans use the Nelson Bean) but these were very obviously straight out of a tin. My fried eggs, too, were hard and rubbery. My rooms overall were pleasant but with both showing signs of their age ~ a leaking shower head, inappropriate energy saving bulbs fitted into light fittings that were never intended to take them ~ but my main problem was the overheating throughout.
Excellent hotel staff were super friendly, valet service was superb after a 3 hour journey. Location and staff make this hotel and the superb bar with cocktails made to order!
Rooms were quaint not ultra modern but that is the charm of this hotel .
Interior was dull and dreary, stairs were shabby. Worn carpet with tape on it.
Breakfast cooked to order Friendly staff
Fairly noisy room above restaurant
We found this hotel to be good value, food excellent , staff really helpful with directions for tours and site seeing very friendly.
Lack of car parking
Quiet friendly hotel within easy walking distance to the train station and town centre
The noise from the heating and ventilation systems outside my window
Staff were excellent Great Welcome Outstanding Breakfast Great View from Room Best Location Good value for the monies paid
Bedroom a little tired Carpets and bedding could do with replacing. Bathroom ready for some renovation
Great value, location & breakfast!
