Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very modern and spotless. I paid half price for our standard double room - £68 which I have indicated as good value however full price would not have been good value. This is a good 3* hotel, at best, it did not meet our expectations of a 4*. There was hardly any lounge area and lack of parking was a big issue. The restaurant was closed - we knew this - but it should not happen with a so-called 4* hotel.

It has character and a more personal service that you don't usually find in major brand hotels.

I always stay at the Lace Market for overnight business trips when there is a reasonable deal available. It is ideal for a solo, female business traveller who prefers a friendly, comfortable, boutique-style hotel.

Disappointed with cleanliness of the room which was well overdue a fefurb. Could not fill the kettle from the tap in the sink as there was only 3 inch space! Tv remote didn't work which was reported to reception but not dealt with. Breakfast was excellent as were waiting staff.

The room (studio) was very large and comfortable, the bathroom was also very spacious, the mini fridge was well stocked if a little expensive. The city location is wonderful, 5 minutes walk from main area of shopping and also 2 minutes from more bohemian hockley. The srea the hotel is in is lovely and the church makes a great view from the windows. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the valet attendants were courteous and professional. Although the staff are very freindly, they do seem to be a little flustered and unorganised. An example of this was when the receptionist had to be the one to come to our room to fix the towel rail. She didn't seem to know how to do it and I am sure they should have a person to do repairs. The rooms are also quite prone to noise from rooms above and below. I would say the whole place is a bit frayed around the edges but with a little organisation, it could really be a wonderful place to stay. 6/10

Very good value for money when booked through Booking.com, the room was very good, great location a few minutes walk from the city centre, the Cock and Hoop pub down the road (also owned by the hotel) is a good place for a quiet drink. Nottingham is a lively place on a Saturday night, so expect some street noise but this would be expected for any centrally located hotel in Nottingham. Use the valet parking as the parking wardens are very vigilant

The breakfast was very nice, although I would not have paid the normal price for it. The hotel is in a very good, central location. The staff were polite and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the in-room facilities were good, particularly the iron & ironing board in the wardrobe. The bathroom was dirty in places (E.G. mould in the bath & on the tiling) as was the carpet in the bedroom. The hotel is looking tired in places and in need of redecoration. The charge of an extra £15 to park is a real negative and the £10 for a ' full valet' by the company recommended by the hotel is very overpriced. It's basically just an external clean, which I can get for £5 near to where I live. I expected the hotel to be like the Cathedral Quarter hotel in Derby but there's a massive difference. We were also woken very early on the Sunday morning by what sounded like staff in the corridor. This happened twice. Not impressed.

Could Room 201 at Lace Market qualify as the best hotel room in England? Style, space, elegance; an excellent example of how to carry out a successful conversion job. Breakfast was outstanding. Very convenient for the city centre. Parking, and the one way system in this part of town, is tricky. The hotel will arrange to park your car (£15.00 per 24 hr). Local traffic wardens are very predatory - do not leave your car unattended outside the hotel for a millisecond!

Very disappointed in the hotel bearing in mind the write up's of this hotel - does not reflect the actual experience even though my room was very nice. Staff were weak and not informative Phone in room did not work so had to use my own mobile to get my car brought round Got the valet service but the car was not cleaned as seemingly I did not tick the correct box even though I had said I wanted the 2 cars cleaned. Very disappointed in that as I was paying for a customer who didn't get what he expected. His room had no electricity in the morning and when he said it at reception it was glossed over as though it was normal - weird. Lucky not to be electrocuted !!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a hotel - you expect everything to work. Restaurant staff very slow at breakfast time
