Central location. We got stuck in the lift for 5 minutes and had to wait until a member of staff came to press some buttons. There was no apology from the staff member. The fire alarm was activated at 5.50am on the Sunday morning. We all evacuated the hotel and stood outside for 45 minutes. The fire service turned up 30 minutes after the alarm was activated, no one had alerted them!! Again, no explanation or apology from staff until we checked out when it was mentioned in passing. Very poor breakfast, along with bacon and hard poached eggs we got half a mushroom and half a tomato???? The room was adequate but not worth the £99 we paid.

Good location, nice adjoining bar (the Cock and Hoop). Rooms felt a bit tired and run down. The bathrooms in particular were not entirely pleasant. We paid extra for one of the nicer rooms, however when we saw a friends 'budget' room - it was larger and more nicely appointed than ours!

Reception staff brilliant - breakfast good - great location. A grumpy waitress at breakfast on 4 May - English very bad and attitude to match.

Charming place, room and staff. Breakfast especially was great with fresh and good quality ingredients on offer! I would like to return and perhaps try their restaurant menu too. The water tap in the room bathroom is too close to the side and bottom of the sink/basin, therefore uncomfortable when washing your hands or when using it in general.

Very friendly staff, great location, very clean, good breakfast. Bit noisy due to wooden floors. The shower of one of the neighbours was very boisy, but the old building also has it's charme.

Rooms very comfortable and clean, everything needed was supplied. Staff very helpful. Not baby friendly rooms....gaps under bedside table where baby kept banging his head while crawling around, exposed sockets, couldn't turn heated towel rail down and baby kept burning his hand, rooms too hot, and too many stairs to negotiate. Parking not good while unloading.

Location was excellent within the city centre with a concession for parking. Breakfast was very good. Bed was soft but very comfortable. Size of room was good. Somewhat penny pinching with no shower cap or pen (would you believe that I actually wanted to use one for the first time ever) and most disappointingly no water in the room unless you paid for it via the mini bar at £2 a small still bottle. En suite bathroom also looked a little tired.

Location is fantastic.A Nice comfortable Hotel with very friendly staff.Good value for money in a great City. Needs to be freshened up,coat of paint in corridors.Carpets are dated old and dull. Also there is supposed to be a car parking deal with the Lace Market multi storey Park. My ticket was validated twice by the receptionist but I still got charged full price by the Car park.False deal,

Waiting staff were very friendly. Cool art in the breakfast room. Studio rooms are awesome. Massive bath and two tellies. Win! Lovely view of St. Mary's Room was starting to get a tiny bit scruffy.

The location is perfect as a city centre boutique hotel I have stayed here several times but the last stay I found the room uncomfortably warm. As it is an old building you are the mercy of the other guests with regard to noises throught the night both in the corridor and in surrounding rooms

The hotel is minutes away from the ice rink and is great for the shops etc. We parked up and used the tram service to get to the hotel as the stop is very near. I had to ask for some of the breakfast items to be topped up. The staff did do this quickly but feel they should keep an eye on it.

Evening Meal and Breakfast were excellent. Mini Bar in Hotel Room wasn't very well supplied, and I was unable to access Television Set, which appeared to be broken. Accept this was probably an oversight, therefore I am not prepared to make a major issue of it.

Upgraded to a suite, which was nice. The room was clean and the bed was good. Breakfast was good. The room also had tea/coffee facilities and the wi-fi signal was excellent. Minor problems - a number of the lights did not work.
