The Riviera Hotel is in a peaceful location, looking out over the trees of Alum Chine to the bay.
Score from 693 reviews Very good
In a quiet part of East Cliff, this clean, friendly hotel is just a short walk from Bournemouth's beaches and town center. It has spacious rooms, a restaurant, a vibrant bar and free parking.
Score from 1408 reviews Very good
From our early evening check-in, the service was friendly and helpful. All staff were 'happy to help'. Entertainment acts were also very good. Have rebooked for return weekend in 2015.
I like this hotel, it is nice and homely, quiet. The staff are great, location is ideal. Facilities are good, food excellent. Some say it is a little jaded, I do not like disco type hotels, too noisy
Nothing to dislike.
No restaurant on a Friday night! A very scary walk through underpasses to try and find somewhere to eat....at 8pm. Creaky floorboards, banging doors. Cold bacon, sausage and tomato at breakfast, oh and let's not forget the charming belching staff whilst I was still eating my cold breakfast!! Awful hotel!
Friendliness of staff breakfast was excellent
Mattresses on beds, springs digging through, hand to room 47 broken, noise from elevator droning in room 48
Very tasty but could have been slightly larger portions
Parking of the coaches all parked in a way that one needed to dodge them to park the car
bed, if i want to sleep on a matress that hard i will travel to Everest base camp,
Location Cleanliness Friendly welcome
Lack of duvets on bed No yogurt at breakfast
Apartment and equipment. Comfortable and roomy.
Overhead flights to and from nearby airport
very clean good breakfast nice room friendly staff
Love the hotel and staff , breakfast is great
There is nothing the hotel is perfect for us
The friendliness of guests and staff
Not the hotels fault but the WIFI went down from the Tuesday and the rest of the week.
Ver friendly staff and good value
Excellent value but with no frill whatsoever!!
the kitchen staff were surly
Although a basic bedroom, with a very basic bathroom, it was standard for a hotel room and perfectly comfortable for one nights stay. I found the breakfast amazing, a very nice restaurant facility, with friendly staff and refills of toast, coffee, juice and a v nice full english
The walls were paper-thin and you could hear people snoring in adjoining rooms and noises of the overpass nearby.
Very comfortable bed, Bathroom is small but gives you the essential towels and bar of soap, plenty of choice on the breakfast menu and the food tasted great certainly very good as a whole for the 70 pounds I paid
I had trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi
I like staff friendly ,big room ,tea,TV ,love breakfast. Just ordered it and ready on the table very tasty.
They didn't offer Wi Fi
Breakfast service was polite and quality was good especially for the price of the room. Staff were friendly and polite. ALthough a bit dated throughout the hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were all smart. Room was ok.
The room smelt a bit musty.... probably just old old carpets which given the decor might be a fair assumption however comes with the territory with these hotels. The bed was hard and the pillows are really awful. Mine were rock hard. I would come here again but I would pack my own pillow. Also a bar of soap with your towels... not used soap in a bar since I was a kid. Time to buy duvets as well folks. I don't think old blankets or old carpets helps the freshness of the room. I would have however slept fine with a pillow from home. For the price a serviceable and ok room.
too noisy kept awake all night by other guests. The room smelt damp . The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were rock hard. The breakfast was meant to start at 6.30am ready for us to leave for the marathon that was a joke 6.45 am still had not had our orders taken. Which meant we left without even a cup of tea.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the hotel was clean smart and very tidy, breakfast was nice. Will definitely stay here again and have already told friends how good it is.
Nothing to dislike
Frendly service from all members of staff. Excellent value for money. Good location not too central but within reasonable distance to most facilities.
Unfortunately some squeaking floorboards. Also early start of coach engines disturbing sleep for people in front rooms.
Very nice when I found it .
It is difficult to locate .
Breakfast was excellent.
Need to use duvets (sheet and blankets are too heavy)
Good value for money. Basic but does the job.
Require Internet connection for business. Not available within main block for previous three visits. Unfortunately a requirement nowadays.........
The friendliness of staff, and the food was quite nice, great breakfast
The banging of doors, by people coming in at night, and by some people getting up early in morning.
