Lainston House Hotel And The Avenue Restaurant

Uitstekend hotel, prachtige omgeving.Opvallend was het hoge niveau van de keuken, een aparte ervaring!

The setting was magnificent, the attention of the staff was excellent and the food was good and well presented.

our room whilst comfortable and with a wonderful view, was on the very top of the building with steep staircases. An older couple would have found it a problem.

The clean rooms and the great service make this one of the more fantastic places to stay in the area

This is one of the most beautiful hotels Ive ever stayed in. Really enjoyed it and the staff are really helpful and pleasant. Highly recommended.

The fact that I had to leave when my stay was up!

The excitement of driving up the drive into the car park to such a fine looking House. The gardens and grounds were superb with theview at the rear terrace quite spetactular especiallyenjoying a lovely cool drink made specially for me by the very helpfull and entusistic barman,who was so polite,couteaous and keen to serve me .!!! My room was very nice and quite unique and in keeping with the character of the lovely hotel ,its surroundings and really lovely interiors and features . As one of the guests at a dinner ,the food and choice of menu was excellent for a lovely cool summers night and topped off with coffee and home made fudge on the terrace.All the staff were polite effecient and made me and other guests feel welcome ! Thanks

Can't think of anything it really is such a lovely place and will hopefully be back again to expereince the unique atmoshere and quality service again. f I was to moan about anything and this is very small point, As i had the room called Azalea which backs onto the terrace ,a member of staff was laying up for breakfast by putting the cups on the saucers at just after 6 am and as it is so peacefull and tranquil quiet with just the early morning chorus of birdssto wake up to and listen to, this really was not nececcary to be "clunking cups 2"at that time !!!

The reception was as attentive to me as to the guy in front checking into a Junior Suite with monogrammed luggage off a Ferrari. The reception manager communicated with me regarding my family's needs and ensured they were well met. The room was exceptional - huge bathroom, well-proportioned bedroom with side study leading out to a rose garden.

There was a wedding the weekend we stayed and the noisy rock band should have been toned down by midnight. The restaurant's standard of cuisine is excellent (solid cooking of fresh produce)-we dined two nights in a row despite the comments to follow. Its too expensive given the restaurant's service staff: generally slow & clueless.

The levels of service were excellent and the location was ideal

The food was overpriced. Whilst of a good standard, it did not deserve to be priced at central London levels. In the case of a £20 cooked breakfast, it would make more sense marketing-wise, to increase the room rate to include it.

Very friendly and efficient staff, excellent aftenoon tea, nice historic location and character, great architecture / building

high quality of service - professional and inobstrusive; extensive grounds; the air of exclusivity; excellent cuisine; luxury upgrade much appreciated; reference to environmental considerations (I'm an expert in this field);

No dislikes - couldn't see a wireless internet connection. We ate in the Mountbatten Room in a private party so could not comment on the Avenue menu or ambience - please send the current menu so I can see what the options are for a future visit.

Friendliness & caring of staff, lovely food, comfortable & relaxed public seating areas, very expensive but if it was less the things that made the difference would be cut or lesser.

sanitary disposal facilities in bedrooms (just the bags, please. Nothing more fancy)

Food excellent / Rooms excellent / Can' recommend it high enough.
