We spent two days at the lodge and wish we could have stayed for longer. What a lovely peaceful location, a place to forget all your worries and just listen to the wild life and enjoy the beautiful view from the deck. Heather was very helpful right from the time of booking and did her utmost to ensure we had a good stay.

the view from the lodge was excellent the whole experience was great to be so close to the wild life of the lake just blew myself and my wife Christine away Christine liked the attention detail was so individual to each of the rooms in the lodge we did not feel overcrowded at any time during our stay even though there was only myself Christine and our mum staying in the lodge if we had brought our grandchildren there would have been plenty of room on the balcony for them to play and plenty of room for all of us to eat outside and the equipment was also provided . unfortunately the weather was cloudy and we did have rain during our stay but because the lodge was so cosy the weather didn't stop us from having a enjoyable time we also had a lovely day out at Chichester even the bathrooms were spacious and I particularly liked the attention with the bath mats the dishwasher was a real big factor for me Christine l would happily take my grandchildren and have a holiday again in the lodge and knowing the dishwasher is big enough for a family also be able to use the facilities of lakeside was a big plus for me . I would like to give a big thank you to the owner of the lodge for contacting me to tell me I had left my purse behind and she very kindly said she would keep it safe for me until myself and Steve will be visiting lake side during the summer with our motorhome and we are very much looking forward to seeing Heather again I hope in the future we can have a family holiday in the lodge and visit again thanks again for this unforgettable stay at Lake Birds Lodge thanking you again Christine Bosworth

Lovely location in the lake. Accomodation was very comfortable with lots of room.

Unfortunately not enough hot water (sometimes no water pressure) for showers.

Not the usual place; not the usual hostess. First impressions untrusting and officious, then she becomes an interesting, if a bit eccentric character!. And she goes out of her day to make you satisfied. Excellent breakfast nicely presented. If you have a lot of luggage she has crammed a lot into a little space

Heather - a bit officious to start with - she doesn't trust people - no doubt due to s African background, You warm to her. Cramped - remember it is a holiday park log cabin. Difficult to find with no signage

beautiful lake view, clean room and bathroom

owner was very controlling (all sorts of details written down and checked and boxes ticked, even told us where and where not to put toiletries, gave very thorough introduction how things work - almost forgot that we were on hols and not entering the military!) and because of that didn't make us feel welcoming. Breakfast took half an hour to arrive (although she was keen to know what time she should serve breakfast), could not handle serving two tables at the same time (other table got top ups when we were still waiting and our drinks got cold). Although I like dogs didn't appreciate owner's dog begging for food having it's paws on my legs throughout the entire breakfast. Owner's part of house smelled very much of dog. Separation between rooms was visual only, one could hear everything.
