Lake House  

Very friendly staff, hotel is in a very good location for lake Windermere.

Only thing we didn't like was the fact that there was no evening meal available and you had to walk a couple of hundred yards to it's sister hotel which would not be good in adverse weather.

The location was splendid and the room was perfect with a splendid view over Windermere. Breakfasts were good and staff pleasant.

We would have liked to be able to have had dinner at Lake House and while we were steered across to their sister establishment it was a bit difficult with stairs and slopes as my wife is very lame.

The hotel is conveniently located for the Waterhead area of Ambleside, and has very friendly staff. We stayed in one of the Hideaway rooms - separate accommodation, each with their own front door, located behind and above the hotel itself. This looked to be recently completed and was very nice indeed. An excellent breakfast was available in the hotel itself.

The hotel is rather more than the advertised 10 minute stroll from the centre of Ambleside. Staying in one of the upper Hideaway rooms meant that the ceiling in the bathroom was quite low and I couldn't stand up straight in front of the sink. This wasn't a problem for the one night that we stayed, but might become a bit frustrating if you were there for a week.

We stayed in room 17 a hideaway room with views of lake and mountains There was a table and chairs outside room where we sat with our wines. Room and ensuite could not be faulted Breakfast and service good

We had a lovely welcome. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms extremely comfortable. Would certainly choose to stay there again when holidaying in that area.

Good position for visiting Windamere Grassmere and Lakes. Very pleasing Staff Nice modern room overlooking Lake. Would go back if in this area again.

Not much very dissapointed with room 8 asked for lake view got view of bins our friends had great room ours was complete opposite so was very dissaponted

Nothing dislike but will be great if wifi in room.

We stayed for two nights in a superior double with four poster bed and magnificent lake views - well worth paying the extra cost. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Lovely modern shower room. The receptionist was extremely friendly and efficient on arrival and departure. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked and the self service style all added to the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. We will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in one of the Hideaway rooms - Room No17. It was fantastic. Lovely view of the lake. Pity the weather wasn't better because there was some chairs outside on the terrace which would have been lovely to sit and enjoy the view. Staff friendly and informative. Would have preferred the restaurant in the hotel to serve food in an evening! Breakfast faultless, buffet style but replenished with fresh food often. Lovely breakfast room overlooking the lake. Would definately go back.
