The only thing I didn't like was regarding the room. The room is designed with the only windows next to the glass door. This meant that to have the blinds open you were in full view of anyone passing. As the room was at the side of the property there were not many passers by, but there were a few and therefore we had to keep the blinds down all the time we were in our room to avoid being seen lying on the bed.
The staff were wonderful and the location beautiful. It is close to the waterside where you can catch ferries to all parts of Lake Windermere. It is a mile from the town of Ambleside where you can shop for outdoor clothes etc, cafes and restaurants, cinemas etc. there are Roman ruins, parks and a nice pub. The room was a good size, and the bed very comfortable. The breakfasts fresh and tasty.
