An excellent b & b, serving a good breakfast. Rooms are plush and bed was comfy. Staff were very friendly. Drinks from the reception was reasonably priced.

No bar, but wasn't a problem they served drinks from the reception and we could drink in the lounge or go to the sister hotel across the road.

My wife and I have stayed here on 3 occasions now, we have a sentimental connection to the hotel as we stayed here when we got engaged. The staff are always friendly and helpful, breakfast is great and the rooms are tidy and clean. We love the views from the front rooms and the breakfast hall. The car park is safe and the location is perfect.

For a hotel charging £100 a night they should be able to offer a good iron/ironing board. The one I was offered was aweful and the iron was covered in marks which if used would have damaged/marked my clothing. This was my only negative.

A minor grumble - no stand up shower facility in our room.

this was our first time at Lake House and we were very pleasantly surprised. the Hideaway room we had we shared with our dog Rosie and it was ideal as it was quiet with no-one passing. we overlooked the garden of Romney Grange and the bird life including the Green Woodpeckers was superb. the breakfast was very good and the room very comfortable. we left the car the whole time and did walks straight from the door. staff were brilliant.

it would have been nice to relax in the lounge with a drink with our dog with us but we do understand some poor people do not like dogs.

Room had a great view of the Lake. Location was good for trips and hikes in the mountains. Restaurants were available and good.

No on line service in the rooms. We had to go to the lounge.

The decoration is beautiful, and make me feel at home. The bed is very comfortable and the breakfast is good. Nice service attitude. The location is perfect, near the lake and just 1 minute to the bus stop towards either Ambleside town center and Windermere station.

The heating is not 24 hours. Since we lived at the end of the top floor, the signal of wifi was very weak.

no evening meal available, steep walk up to hotel oerhaps should be advertised for older visitors? No bar but none expected or advertised.

My girlfriend and I loved everything about it, the setting because it was off the road, the room was very nice with an amazing view across Windermere and the cooked breakfast was lovely! Free DVD rentals as well to play through the tv in our room! Would definatly visit again!!

Excellent location, with beautiful surroundings. The hotel staff were very helpful/ friendly. And the rooms are spacious and well equipped.

Great location, very clean and modern, quality food and very friendly and helpful staff. Great sister hotel V.near for bar or restaurant meal. Ambleside15 mins up the road walking slowly! Fantastic views from the dining room.

Our room was originally a single booking upgraded to a double and it was too small for two - despite double bed. Not many of the rooms seem to be situated in the hotel so if you are hoping for victorian spendour with views you might be disappointed to end up in an annex with no view, even though the annex 'hideway rooms' are very modern, clean, comfortable and warm. Some of the staff had no local knowledge at all as English was not there first language even though they were very polite, friendly and helpful. I would however recommend this lovely hotel in a great location.
