Score from 307 reviews Very good
Setting was very relaxing as was the view from the restaurant at breakfast time where the buffet was also excellent. I spoke to a number of staff and found them all to be pleasant, courteous and helpful
Whilst the general appearance of the Continental was good and was clean and tidy, a closer look showed it to be in need of a little TLC. Room 303 has noticeable gaps in the sealant in the bathroom. The International had a window hanging off one of the downstairs rooms (visable from the patio outside the restaurant)
pleasant lakeside location
Tired, stuffy, jaded - applied to both decor, air quality in corridors, and staff.
The receptionist was pleasant, friendly and helpful. The general decor and rooms were of a good standard, room was spacious. There was a supermarket just down the road and an abundance of restaurants nearby. The car park is large. The location was excellent for my needs.
With a little bit of thought it was possible to hold the handle down as you shut the door and in doing close it quietly.Sadly most thought the alternative was better and just slam the door! This and noisy guests chatting in the corridor at 1am was not a fault of the hotel and could happen anywhere but is the reason I gave the quality of sleep such a low score.
Large room, Large bed. Comfortable and very quiet. Pleasant view across the lake from room window. Lots of space in the carpark.
The room was clean and tidy. Staff Friendly.
The restaurant menu was basic as was the bar menu, breakfast very basic. To use the restaurant rather than the bar to eat including the English breakfast (at additional cost) was in any adjoining hotel, not far to walk by inconvenient. The room was clean and comfortable; the hot tap in wash basin did not work properly even after it was repaired. No plug in the bath and they could not supply one. The WiFI was slow and unreliable (but it was free) The hotel web site did not fully represent this hotel they quality was no as high as I expected considering the cost. The room rate for the week of the Farnborough Air Show was almost 3 times higher than the week after. Had I have known this I would not have book this hotel. I could have stayed in central London and visited the Air Show for each of the five days I was there cheaper and in more comfort. (Including travel)
Very average so acceptable is the sole response
Very expensive food - usch as was available
The hotel rang us upgrade us to the international which was ok. Wifi wasxa bit touch and go to get on to. Breakfast was expensive for whatwas on offer. Breakfast service was poor we ordered tea and coffee on aarrival 10 mins later the same waitress arrived at the table wondering why we weren't having drinks...
Staff are pleasant Hotel clean
TV menu was in German Remote control batteries not working Room badly in need of refurb. Stayed in room 148. Went to bar to get food. Really funky smell in bar area. So didn't bother.
convienient to where i wanted to go next day
expensive breakfast ...ie 5 in group at 12.50 per head £62.50 !!!!! well over priced ..... no a/c in rooms ...faulty electrical goods ie kettle / iron ..wont book again !!!
Phone call from reception to check that we were happy with the room. Although it came 5 seconds after walking into the room
No signal on tv. Only enough towels for 1 person, we were a couple. £12.50 for breakfast?? Glad we went to Deepcut cafe
Pleasant location. Good hotel with comfortable AC rooms. Small balcony but big enough for two to sit out and enjoy the scenic view of the lake with a drink in hand. Balcony needs refurbishment.
Miserable shower ! Flow of water is very poor and needs immediate attention.
We liked the location. The rooms had all the space we required, having a partially dissabled son with us. They were clean, comfortable and well maintained.
My Wife and myself find difficulty getting into a bath where the shower was located, as does my partially dissabled son. I asked for a walk in shower. No explanation was given as to why this did not happen. Wi-Fi proved impossible to access. It was only afterwards did we notice, that although access is available to the leisure facilities, located in the Hotel next door, there was a charge. All other Hotels with these facilities have been free to guests. We found it difficult to understand why the price quoted in the on line booking facility did not include Breakfast. To Our mind it would have been better to have Breakfast included, with the option to have the room only booking. £12.50p we felt was excessive when not 5 miles away we found a Cafe promoting Breakfasts at £4. With me paying for all 5 Adults in our party, that would have added £62.50p to our outing. Insted we payed £20.00p
Plenty of parking and close to the village and where we needed to be
Bed too soft no fans and hot tap in bathroom sink not working
Location convenient for business in Camberley. Good nearby country area for running. Relatively quiet. Large car park so no issues over parking.
White vans .... thousands of them. People putting bar chits onto my bill and having to sort that out with reception in the morning i.e no checks occurring at the bar. No aircon; it was the UKs hottest day so the room was stifling & had to leave window open! Not many eating alternatives within walking distance outside of hotel; local pub was "busy" and refused to be flexible over bar snacks.
Quiet location. Nice rooms.
It was clean
Decor is dated and worn eg stair carpet had bare patches where it had worn through, extremely over priced for both location and facilities (if we'd paid half the price it would have been ok for the standard of accommodation provided), receptionist's command of English so poor we spent several minutes trying to get the telephone number for a local taxi firm and eventually gave up as he couldn't understand that we didn't want a taxi then and there.
For the amount of money spent I should have have a terrific few days. Spent in excess of £600 just for the room only. Cramped with no ac and terrible smells. Will never stay here again it even recommend such a place.
Terrible staff attitude. No one at desk for long periods of time. No air conditioning. Friend stayed at Frimley Hall for same rate. Such a difference. Room was dirty even though I complained nothing was done. Would certainly not recommend to anyone else.
Lack of welcoming atmosphere Poorly maintained.
The staff were rude, the room was dirty, the overall hotel was shabby, the rooms facilities did not work, cleaners let themselves in while we got changed!!
was hard to get a 3rd cup for tea in the room where 3 of us booked. reception not that helpful when asking about local facilities.
Efficient booking and check-in. Location close to the purpose of my visit. Quiet room, comfortable bed (except pillow). Work space. Wifi fairly simple to log on to. Tea making facilities in room.
Inadequate signposting to room, wasted time going down wrong corridors. Lack of detail on invoice. VERY noisy fan in bathroom - I ended up going into the bathroom in the dark to avoid the noise. My TV switched itself on + woke me up at 6.30 am (I had only watched the TV, not touched any alarm function.) I had pre-paid breakfast but discovered there was no English breakfast unless I took the time to walk to the sister hotel 200m away in the rain + waste that time. Only sugar/carb-rich cereals, yoghurts, toast and jam. This should be made clear prior to booking. No decent coffee. Pillows too thick / hard. Accepted offer of invoice by email but it has not come.
Quiet Very large free carpark - plenty of space to park away from the white vans
In-house 'continental' breakfast was a bit lacking in choice... no breads. meats or cheeses - just cereals, toast, fruit segments, yogurts and croissants. Sufficient for a calorie conscious start to the day. Full English available at the other hotel... but I did not try.
Well quipped, comfortable room with plenty of space
Unfortunately, arrived on an unusually hot day and the room took some time to cool down overnight.
It had character, a little 'Fawlty Towers' at points, so not a place to go if you want perfection. Personally I would choose this over the traditional brands again. Had an iron & ironing board in room.
