I have stayed at the Lakeside several times as I live a long way from my place of work. It is convenient for my work in Farnborough, and provides very good value for money - room rate and food/drink prices are very reasonable. Rooms are reasonably equipped and comfortable (apart from room 204 - see next bit). Last time I stayed I was allocated room 204, which was smaller than others I have stayed in. The window is not vertical, so the curtains do not cover it properly. It was also a bit draughty and noisier than other rooms. I will ask not to have this room next time I stay.

Location (quiet), does the things I want, which is a comfortable, relaxed hotel for the odd overnight stay. Food in the restaurant is always good. Sports channels showing football in the evening in the bar, but not dominating the environment. Not a posh hotel at all, but somewhat comfortable in a homely sort of way even though it's a large hotel. The one thing I'd like to see is all staff having the same approach/manner as Jose. He is always helpful, friendly and welcoming. It appears to me that some areas i.e. Reception, have a higher turnover (or a rotating schedule) of staff with no real desire to make you feel welcome. It does vary, but nothing so bad that would stop me from returning.

The location was great we were going to a passing out parade. There was easy parking, good choice of reasonably priced food in the restaurant, staff were friendly, rooms were comfortable and very clean. Nothing

Nice Hotel just a bit dated. If you get a room overlooking the lake it makes a difference. I have stayed there several times and all has been good. Booked for two nights when I checked in only allocated one night? Room service is limited and expensive. Keep away from Lakeside lodges, cheap & not cheerful!

I stay in a lot of hotels yet can think of nothing I liked about this one. Very clearly taking advantage of business travellers by offering little while charging a great deal. One to avoid. The double room I booked was not available on arrival. Instead a small poky basement twin room was all there was available. No reduction in the price was offered. Very expensive for such a tired, dated hotel with awful decor, worn out furnishings, unhelpful staff, small old fashioned room with a poorly equipped bathroom badly in need of renovation.

Very comfortable bed, spacious room. Just a few changes would make this a better experience - Dodgy shower - I minute it works the next the water just stops R198! Heard a strange buzzing noise throughout the night - kept thinking my phone was vibrating - was it the lift or air con? The breakfast staff need to be more welcoming and not just "YOUR ROOM NUMBER?" A welcome would be far nicer :)
