It was perfect for our needs. The rooms and other areas were clean, and breakfast was excellent. All in all, this really was value for money. The furnishings in both the bedrooms and hotel reception areas are a bit dated but clean.

The hotel fitted us for all our needs Do feel breakfast finishing at 9.30 at the weekend is a little early most hotels at the weekend will extend their opening time 10.00/10.30 would have been a little more relaxing remember we were on a weekend break

Good atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, comfortable room and bed with bonus of gym and pool for relaxation after busy working day - comfortable, relaxing bar lounge area. Only one issue - had to wait over 30mins for bar snack (chicken caesar salad) when restaurant quiet on a Tuesday evening.

The whole package was excellent. The quilts on the beds are too small they need to be double on single beds as the come off during the night ok in summer but not in winter as the draft through the windows is in excess.

Large car park vailable free. Quiet location (unless an event is being held) Nice lake but it is behind a security fence. Slight smell of dampness in some parts of the hotel. Mould in the bathroom.

I was contacted by the hotel a couple of hour before my arrival to be told they had over booked and I would be staying in one of the remote lodges not in the main hotel. The lodge room was dirty and the bed was the hardest I have ever experienced in a hotel. I had to drive to the hotel for my meals. All in all, a disaster

Very little, the breakfast was ok. Receptionist was efficient if impersonal. Very tired, still looks like hotels I stayed in in the 1980s. Frayed carpets, tired decor, strange sense of decoration in places, restaurant manager seemed ineffective and didn't listen to his staff, only a buffet selection at dinner and that was very limited, couldnt find any desserts, gave up on coffee, poor selection of draft beers in the bar, bedroom was very cold and the room took hours to warm up, tv was decent quality but let down by ownly having the main channels - eg no freeview. The shower was easy to turn on and up - but couldnt then turn the temperature down or off - made for an uncomfortable experience!

Staff were really friendly and helpful . Restaurant/bar/reception were nice and rooms were basic but ok. Get a lakeside view at no extra cost. Spa was nice but surrounding complex needs serious renovating. Had a nice stay all in all!

The staff were very friendly and helpful, which is the only saving grace of this hotel. The restaurant is nice and food was very good. The room was very cold, the single radiator was turn off. I turned it on full and went to dinner, on returning to the room it was still very cold. The decoration was tired, there was mould around the bath, the tiles did not fit and the toilet seat was broken. The room had a double bed with a brown blanket that had been washed too many times and I had clumped the wool. There was a second one in the cupboard which was just as bad. In the end I slept on the floor next to the radiator on cushions just to keep warm. It was not worth going back to change the room at 2 am when I had to get up at 5am and fly passenger.

Nice location, lovely surroundings. On arrival claimed not to have my booking, but when they did go on the computer they peculiarly had my contact details. There was only one member of staff and he seem a little overwhelmed I was put on the bottom floor which was in complete darkness. The corridor lights were operated by a sensor which wasn't very reactive. At breakfast I and several other guests were shown a table and left. It wasn't until a regular guest who arrived last was offered tea and coffee that it was apparent we should have been asked for out requirements. Although the staff member was very pleasant I again had the impression that they were overwhelmed. Finally on check out the invoice raised was more than twice the negotiated price. They did sort but I worry what might have happened if i hadn't got the email confirmation with me. This isn't an uncommon experience so it wouldn't stop me recommending but be aware of the limitations
