Room was clean and warm. Bed was comfortable. The refurbished rooms were lovely, but we opted for an old one with a bath. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Could have done with a biscuit on the tea tray please.
Great place staff very good handy location
I have personal knowledge of this former country mansion. My mother lived here a century ago when it was a Barnados Home and my daughter had her wedding reception here 30 years ago when it was the upmarket Stifford Lodge. It all looks a bit sad now but still value for money with a pleasant room and breakfast.
Room smelt of drains and the heating did not work properly we were freezing
No bar food or snacks available No heating in rooms not even a blanket Rung reception for 30 minutes with no reply My 90 year old mother had no heating and was given a fan heater No duty manager Not a 3 star hotel I have stayed in many hotels in this country and this is the worst could not recommend
Peace and quiet. Excellent private reception in Blenheim suite
Poor communication betwwen management and staff. No 24hr room service available on arrival-no food available in hotel on first night. Incidents of lack of attention to detail eg 1 dressing gown for 2 people, stained tablecloth on breakfast table.
Hotel was in a good location, rooms Ok and service fine
We were surprised to arrive and be told there was no restaurant service or bar due to a block booking. We were never told this when booking. We had to go out on a cold night and find somewhere local and there was not a lot of choice.
We enjoyed the stay only that just one device can be hooked up to the internet.
The internet was limited
The exterior of the hotel could do with some TLC, not very welcoming, however, our room was very spacious, clean, and had tea, coffee making facilities. Bathroom/shower was large and some toiletries were provided free. Breakfast was very good. Food was plentiful and a good selection was available. It would seem this hotel is a popular venue for functions such as wedding receptions and Christmas parties. If you are a light sleeper then the music may be a problem as it goes on quite late. Might be best to check first before staying. We enjoyed our stay and would use this hotel again.
Poor signage at entrance to hotel. Easy to miss at night.
We were unfortunate that there was a function two floors below us and the music made the room shake and was very loud until 1.00 am in the morning! No offer to change rooms was made when we complained
We were guests at a wedding reception and the food and service was excellent. The bedroom and facilities were very clean and the decor was in great condition. my wife requested a shower cap and it came within a couple of minutes.
Nothing we did not like
Clean and tidy, with lovely presentation. Parking facilities were great.
Despite requesting a double bed, at point of booking and again at reception, we had a room with two single beds, pushed together to create a double. This meant we took it in turns to fall between the gap. Not really what I expected from a Radisson... Or given the price of the room.
Both the hotel and grounds are nice
Food in the bar was a bit overpriced for what it was, and the wifi was not great.
The room was nice with a view to the garden and in the old part of the house.
Restaurant staff not attentive
The Dove soap in the bathroom were very good
No covered walkway between reception / bar to rooms .
Bedroom was excellent, spotless, good breakfast.
Price of food and drinks very expensive compared to the local area
Site and room and food was good
Restaurant was closed and bar was cold and unwelcoming. Under staffed.
Bathroom didn't have sufficient ventilation
Breakfast was good
Having to travel to Orset Hall for dinner as the restaurant was closed.
good standard room, excellent breakfast. Service from the staff was excellent, particularly with a wedding and a coach party staying.
Ive stayed here before and the staff are always friendly and I find it very peaceful and relaxing
There as not been a time where I have not had a good stay
Had to go out of the main building to get to my room, wasn't advised of this previously or I wouldn't have booked.
Nice reception area but that's were it ends!
My booking was downgraded to a standard room which was awful. The bed was falling apart, a leg was literally falling off! Went for breakfast with a colleague at 9.30, the staff were clearing up around us, taking hot buffet food and drinks away before breakfast ended at 10am - awful staff
