Nice, Clean and lovely staff

For its price, It woud be better to stay at thier sister hotel " Regent Hotel"

An excellent, comfortable base for a Walking Holiday in and around Ambleside with a hearty breakfast starting each day. Ideal place for myself and family.

Large, modern, well designed accommodation in the centre of Ambleside. On-site parking. Polite friendly staff.

Our room was in the basement - therefore no view - and underneath the breakfast room, so were woken by the staff setting up for breakfast around 7am as they walked across the wooden floor. The hot breakfast, although very nice, was buffet style and not cooked in large amounts so you had to wait at busy times.

From arrival until leaving, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to help. The room was quite large (it was actually a family room with a king size and a single) and we had requested a shower rather than a bath, the shower was fabulous. The room was very comfortable and very clean. We had a bit of a view from the rear window as well. Breakfast was lovely, choice of cereals, breads, fruit, yoghurts, juice etc as well as a buffet style full cooked breakfast. Free DVD's are on offer should you be a square eyes! The location is fabulous right in the middle of Ambleside and with free parking and free wifi for those who can't leave work behind! We would definitely stay there again without any hesitation

The only minor criticism was that we were there for 3 nights and whilst there was a beautiful wardrobe with matching dressing table, there was no where else to put other clothes away, like a chest of drawers perhaps. And breakfast had to be timed right as the breakfast area is quite small - .............however you can always have breakfast in bed!!!

As soon as my Husband & I walked into Lakes Lodge we felt the warmth from the staff. We were taken to our room which was a large rooom with 2 double beds in it. It was lovely.The breakfast was very good and staff couldn't do enough for you.They were always quick in replacing empty dishes. My Husband & I had a wonderful stay and would love to go back there in the future

Easy walk into Ambleside, comfortable.

The location was ideal for me. As a photographer I found the breakfast timescale very helpful. I was able to nip out to take the Sunrise at between 8 - 9am and still enjoy breakfast at leisure. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. They very helpful without being over the top!

Our room was in a position that we could hear everything that was going on in the kitchen (Room 12) The only other thing I would mention is the fact that people were constantly waiting for the toaster which only catered for 4 slices. I know, "a bit picky" but you did ask!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and great location for a hotel.

Lovely big modern rooms,comfy bed and nice toiletries in bathroom. Breakfast was lovely had everything you could ask for from juices,cereals,cooked full english, toast, tea and coffee. Nice and quiet, but so close to the centre only a ten minute walk to the shops, restaurants. Not having to vacate your room till 11:00 which is a bonus

The car park is quite small so you have to be quick to get a space and which is on a steep slope at the side of the hotel. Also I think a sign should be put up by the DVD's to say the boxes are empty and to ask reception, as I found out when their were no discs inside and being too late in the evening to ask as reception was closed.

Shower a little basic - simple curtain over the bath. Traffic noise for those rooms facing the road.
