the facility was clean and in a very good location. The room was very large and well equiped. All staff where very good, and the breakfast was excellent - we will return.

Easy walk into Ambleside, comfortable.

The location was ideal for me. As a photographer I found the breakfast timescale very helpful. I was able to nip out to take the Sunrise at between 8 - 9am and still enjoy breakfast at leisure. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. They very helpful without being over the top!

Our room was in a position that we could hear everything that was going on in the kitchen (Room 12) The only other thing I would mention is the fact that people were constantly waiting for the toaster which only catered for 4 slices. I know, "a bit picky" but you did ask!

Lovely big modern rooms,comfy bed and nice toiletries in bathroom. Breakfast was lovely had everything you could ask for from juices,cereals,cooked full english, toast, tea and coffee. Nice and quiet, but so close to the centre only a ten minute walk to the shops, restaurants. Not having to vacate your room till 11:00 which is a bonus

The car park is quite small so you have to be quick to get a space and which is on a steep slope at the side of the hotel. Also I think a sign should be put up by the DVD's to say the boxes are empty and to ask reception, as I found out when their were no discs inside and being too late in the evening to ask as reception was closed.

Room nice. Good location in the centre of Ambleside. Free parking very welcome. Nice buffet-style cooked breakfast.

Shower a little basic - simple curtain over the bath. Traffic noise for those rooms facing the road.

Excellent location. Room very cosy and clean. Good choice of breakfast items. Selection of DVDs available to borrow. Although we didn't use it the room service drinks/cosy night in facility is a good idea.

The only thing I would fault this hotel on is the fact that the dining room wasn't big enough to cope with a lot of guests having breakfast at the same time and the tables were very small.

I stayed at Lakes Lodge with my boyfriend and another couple for my boyfriends 21st birthday and we had a lovely time! The rooms were very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic; it was always fresh and is served at a really good time. Lakes lodge is in an excellent location, only 1 mile from lake Windermere, a short drive from a number of attractions such as an aquarium and water sport centre and has a large number of restaurants within a short walking distance and the couple we went to served really good food and weren't overpriced. I would definitly recommend Lakes Lodge to friends and family and would love to visit again.

Friendliness of staff. 5 minute walk into ambleside. If we stayed longer than two nights, we would take advantage of the evening meal deal.

Amazing service.. They even cooked us breafast after time finished , anything asked for was provided within minutes...a great experience..
