Hot tub - great Lodge upgrade - fantastic Spa - nice Request for champagne - easy and accomodating
Spa - lovely lovely staff but outside noise and lack of robes and relaxation room was not relaxing
This was a lovely place to stay with the kids. It was clean and lodges were warm and cosy. Kids loved the swimming pool and staff were very friendly. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked nice.
The peace and tranquility of the area. The scenes, beaches and other areas . All beautiful. A lovely Christmas break away from all.
The bath jets didnt work. The dish washer was hard to manage and didnt work. All else was fine.
Early check out. It could be at 11 or 12.
Location was really good. Friendly staff, nice restaurant, gym good. Excellent master bedroom & ensuite. Hot tub lovely. Heating excellent. Ideal for a new year break. Plenty to do in the local area. Overall had a great time.
Plumbing a bit iffy. Main bathroom shower always cold, and 2nd ensuite had a missing panel (meaning water leaked out) with flow dependent on wether or not the master ensuite was in use. Wifi was problematic.
the lodge was gorgeous!
Lack off free wifi but had good signal on EE so it wasn't a problem
Privacy, cleanliness, excellent food and service in brasserie
Poor selection of pillows.
spacious for 4 people; great Jacuzzi bath; good kitchen equipment and utensils; good cooking facilities; lovely pool; excellent spa;
cold changing rooms for pool; puddles in grounds;
Everything! Beautiful setting, superb accommodation and facilities, both inside and outside the lodge. Very impressed with Lakeview's high standards and attention to detail.
Can't think of anything we were not delighted with. Well done Lakeview.
Communication between staff
Pool, lodge and tennis courts were great
No obvious menu on show and play area wasn't that good.
Great location. Modern accommodation.
Staff polite but issues left unresolved and didn't really bother to ask whether you like the place or not
Modern, clean, warm, good bathroom facilities
Noisy boiler, shower door poor
Dead flies on floor on arrival. There were over thirty and still flies flying around.
Everything wished we had lodges like this nearer to home we would go regularly
Location Quietness Layout of grounds Chalets
Location of swimming pool- full view from foyer!
The lodge, lodge facilities, detached lodge, well planned lodge. Plenty of heating /hot water. Bathrooms were super. We really enjoyed the lodge within the park, close by parking. Will revisit.
Minor issues with fridge plastic shelf in door, Stain on stair carpet, no door/shower curtain on downstairs shower, upstairs shower door replaced by curtain. Downstairs bedroom door was starting to become unglued.
Amazing place and very helpful staffs
loved the lodge
Hotel staff were rude, didn't want to be there attitude. We were greeted by a receptionist chewing gum!!!! No steam or sauna as advertised very dirty. the Spa was shocking paid for a half day Spa which last 1½ hours !!!!!!!! The manager was sat on her phone for most of my visit.
The location The hot tub The cabin although for the cost it did need some work
The pool The bistro too expensive The tired cabin ie curtains pulled off runners very creaky floors Lots of bugs in cabin
Lovely cottages in an excellent location. Well equipped kitchen with spacious living and rooms
Mattress was not very comfortable. More than 2 nights can get quite difficult. Better quality of mattress will make a big difference.
Location just off the A30 near bodmin. Ideally placed to cover both north and south Cornwall. Recently renovated, like new, very well equipped.
Basically the mattresses. Very hard and could be improved really easily by adding mattress toppers. Wife finished up sleeping on top of a spare duvet.
Location was good, and the lodges have the potential to be great. When we explained our predicament we were moved quickly. Although the lodge was bigger with a hot tub, they tried but it was still in a similar condition as the previous one.
Carpets and furniture worn and stained. The beds in both lodges as we were moved were extremely uncomfortable. Walls grubby, items in the lodge were broken or not working. ( bathroom blind, wifi, tv and boiler button missing to switch the heating on in the first lodge) obviously been a leak in bathroom, ceiling stained and the bath panel had become unstuck and flapping around. The outsides of lodges needed cleaning cobwebs everywhere. Windows needed cleaning. Could not relax as didnt feel clean and well cared for. Very dissapointing, I wouldnt walk anywhere without my shoes on, and ended up covering the mattress with two quilts to try and stop the springs digging into our backs. Hand on heart the most uncomfortable nights sleep ever, and that was both beds in both lodges. I can't see how this place has kept its star rateing. In desperate need of a refurb.
Proximity to the A30 away from Lakeview.
This is not a family resort and the word resort is itself misleading. We booked for 4 nights Mon-Fri (August 2014) On arrival we were greeted by a fairly pleasant receptionist who gave us our lodge key however that was it. We had to ask for deatils on pool times, restaurants times and other facilities none of this information was volunteered. We were sent on our way with few leaflets (which infact contained incorrect information). The rest of the staff we came into contact with barely seemed to tolorate guests. Our lodge was located directly opposite the "complex" which meant either side of our lodge was used by other guests as a quick route to the "complex" the rudeness of some people was unbelievable, some actually walked down the path to our lodge and directly in front of our patio window to avoid walking on the wet grass, this included a Lakeview maintenance man. The lodge itself was ok although in need of some work. There was a blind missing from the upper landing window, the window looked directly across to another lodge that seemed to be used as an office this meant a mad dash from the bathroom to the bedroom each morning. On our first morning we couldn't use the pool due to pump problems (understandable). On our second attempt to use the pool we managed to get changed went into the the pool area only to be told to leave as there was an local OAP aqua class about to start, we left with our small child in tears. Supprisingly this was not comminicated to us at reception by the group of young ladies who were sat around chatting and ignoring guests. As we left the pool and passed through reception we noticed a baloon modeling activity was about to start so we decided to try and let our little girl join in, again this turned out to be shambles, we quickly realised that the local mother and baby group had arrived and taken over and the balloon modeller was more interest in photo opportunities for her website.
Self contained. Furnished to a high standard. Lovely modern bathroom. Indoor, warm swimming pool onsite. Good location.
It was a shame that some of the bathroom floor tiles had been replaced with ones that did not match. The bed was a bit lumpy. The batteries were missing from one of the remote controls.
