Comfort, decor of my single room, convenience of location for my needs, friendliness of the staff, warmth of room on an exceptionally cold night and an excellent breakfast with good coffee. The only down side was that the fruit juice at breakfast was not of the same quality asthe rest of my stay.

Food was excellent and staff were very friendly. P.S If you book direct you can negotiate a discount compared to Booking.com. Room 5 was a bit on the small side. Easy to bump into the TV on the wall. Not sure of the size of the other rooms though..

A really nice hotel with plenty of parking and lovely food. Lovely rooms and picturesque location. Recommended. The owners got up early and cooked me a breakfast before the usual 8am time slot. Abergavenny is just a 15 min walk but the country lane is not lit at night time and can be dangerous.

Really enjoyed our stay. A warm friendly welcome. Lovely food and choice. Thank you!!! Room was very stuffy could do with more ventilation and blackout on curtains would help with a lie in.

The inn was very convenient to Abergavenny and also to walking trails. The rooms were spacious. We had the front room which overlooked the eating tables. It was quite noisy all during the day but as it was cool and rainy that night, it became quite quiet.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, especially the full Welsh breakfast. The rooms and the premises generally were spotless and well cared for. The bathroom had wonderful shower,no shortage of hot water and large bath towels. Our room, room 4, only had a very small opening window. A fanlight opening rather than a window. The room was very hot and stuffy as we could not ventilate it properly. The weather was unusually warm for October but the room would have been impossible to sleep in during the hot summer months. The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, tried those from a friend's room but they were the same. Bought my own from market in Abergavenny.

We arrived early as we had to be at a wedding and needed to drop our luggage off. We had a very friendly welcome. The room was of a good standard and the shower was brilliant. In fact the accommodation felt bran new! Breakfast was very filling [Full English] and could not be faulted. Would certainly recommend this place. There was nothing to be negative about. In fact we will go again to visit the area because we were so impressed with the Lamb and Flag!

Friendly staff, good breakfast, good location near Sugar Loaf mountain. Room well serviced. I had single occupancy of a double room so was fine but two might find the room just a little on the small side to be truly comfortable.

We were made very welcome for the whole time of our visit at this hotel. All staff were plesant and very helpfull. The purpose of our visit was a family wedding and as there was private access to the rooms direct from the extensive car park this allowed our late return to be convenient to all. We would have no hesitation in recommending this venue to others.

Only stayed one night but we had a clean and comfortable room. Friendly helpful staff, good generous breakfast. Enjoyed a nice evening meal in comfortable lounge/bar, from a varied menu, which we found to be reasonably priced. Usual lay out of hotel room but a decent size, if anything the decor could be done with a bit of makeover, a little dull and worn.
