Once a medieval coaching inn, this hotel is located less than 10 minutes’ walk from Pembroke’s impressive castle, along the quaint high street.

Lamphey Hall is a traditional, quiet country-house hotel with a lively bistro bar and friendly, professional staff. The family-run hotel is on the Tenby-to-Pembroke road.

spa and food
Beautiful property beside amazing ruins.
Service in the bar and restaurant were very poor. We had empty glasses and full wallets. The staff didn't care
Receptionist was very helpful . Spa staff were excellent. Accommodation was lovely
Breakfast was not the best, the waitress although very pleasant , she made so many mistakes with people's orders and kept forgetting things, delivering to wrong tables and even bringing the wrong order to our table twice.
The staff were friendly and polite. The rooms were very good and comfortable and we would be very happy to return.
(1) Slow service during first evening meal - over 45 minutes wait between 1st and 2nd courses, even after querying the delay twice. (2) Booking system and confirmation not clear. Xmas package straightforward but booking 2 extra nights @ £100 per night confusing as advised by phone that they were b&b and "evening meal" which apparently was not the case. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.
Staff willingness to please. Spacious and comfortable room with enormous bathroom. The food and service on the three days before Christmas was excellent, and the breakfast throughout the stay. Other points: the Spa and the bubbly served to say sorry.
Organization and service collapsed under the weight of Chrismas Eve and recovered only slowly.
House, setting, pool. Food good. Quiet.
My wife found the bed too hard. One of the staff were a bit abrasive and another became flustered under pressure.
Spa facilities were great
Facilities were above reproach, and all staff went out of their way to be helpful and to see to all our needs.
good countryside location good access to Pembroke & castle very nice spa
ceilings in ground floor "studios" creak heavily with the movement of 1st floor occupants
This was our third visit and we found the friendliness of the staff and the food excellent. We had no criticism to make and we would definitely visit again. The staff are very attentive both at reception and in the restaurant and the spa. The hotel is in a lovely spot, very calm and peaceful and beautiful grounds.
The bed was a bit firm for my liking but but the second night I had got used to it
Electrics failed twice. Breakfast was slow on Mo day, but good the rest of the time.
The spa is excellent ,the staff while very friendly and welcoming lack management and experience.the accom needs updating to come up to the standard of quality you get from the spa facility, the location is excellent but this hotel needs updating and good management to make it deserving of its 4 stars.
Room was poor in decor and cleanliness,if staying more than one night we would have asked to be moved.lacking management
Spa / pool
Attitude of staff particularly older waitress at breakfast, ordered tea never arrived so had to ask again. Had to wait 2 hours to be checked in. No remote control in room for tv
Gym facilities were quite nice. WiFi was adequate but not good enough, we had to stay in one spot in our hotel room to receive any signal.
The staff were not very sociable with the exception of one lady working in the restaurant. We didn't receive WiFi that was good enough. We did not receive any welcome coming into reception. The entrance was only one way. The options given for the one time we had dinner in the evening were not really good enough. Also for the price that we had to pay, the food that we got was not good at all. Again the food was too overpriced for food that wasn't particularly appetising. Another thing we didn't like is that was we could smell the food being made from the kitchen into our bathroom. The bathroom doors also do not lock which was quite annoying. Too conclude, for the price that we paid, overall the hotel was not good enough.
Excellent comfortable Hotel and friendly helpful staff
Let down by average food. Less than I expect from a one rosette restaurant.
everything, spa, food, room, location, staff, could go on and on..
Location. Food At breakfast lunch and diner. Friendly staff at reception.
Very poor wifi. Hen party noise at 2am when I needed to be up at 4am for ironman. Rooms not clean and shabby.
Dining room and staff below standard. Menu not good - no 'Light Bites' Canned fruit only - grapefruit and prunes at breakfast. Decorations tired.
The spa, but needed a deep clean!
The rest of the over priced accommodation, was in need of renovation. Especially the bathroom in the court yard accommodation. Poor breakfast! Flies in the room! Water pressure very low for a shower 10 min wait for it to heat up and then no pressure! Establishment needs to be updated!
Lovely building in a peaceful setting (apart from the noisy, shouty sheep in the adjacent fields, perhaps....so many sheep!) Pool/spa/gym area is great with very friendly staff and good facilities. Good choice at breakfast. Nice spacious room. Efficient and friendly reception staff.
The mattress on the big bed was a little thin (but still managed a decent-ish sleep on it). The senior (male) staff on the bar and in the restaurant were both very serious, verging on the point of being rude and unpleasant. They were quite professional in their roles but an occasional smile or some eye contact wouldn't have gone amiss. Guests at a wedding on one of the evenings we stayed were asked to smoke outside the hotel. Fair enough, but they all gathered on the steps at the front entrance....phew! It was like walking through a fog when we came back to the building after an evening out, and the litter, cigarette ends and empty glasses left all over the place really didn't look good, especially for the other guests paying good money to stay at the hotel. Perhaps Best Western could give some consideration to finding an alternative smoking area away from the main entrance?
Beautiful Grounds nice setting
Dated interior Very basic food messy breakfast
Closely followed by the sound of the kitchen staff starting breakfast and a generator sound below our room ! We were moved to a quieter room for the next night where the toilet was broken!
The staff were friendly and eager to help. Lovely room with plenty of seating and double aspect windows. Excellent facilities although we didn't use the spa or pool. We were specially grateful for the heating being on in our room on a very cold night. Good breakfast - freshly cooked to order. Local products at breakfast nice touch. Lovely evening meal with good steak and exceptional hake.
We liked the position of the hotel, located in the countryside and the standard and quality of the bedrooms. The swimming pool/spa was very clean Also the breakfast was very yummy!!
