Views and the quietness of location
Requires modernisation a good shower instead of a bath
Could not operate the trouser press as large cupboard unit stopped it from opening. TV did not work. Staff fixed it only for it to go off at the next channel change!
The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble.
The single room I was given was in poor condition, had bare plaster on ceiling, miss-matched furniture, stained shower tray (because it was so old) and poor shower room facilities. However the bedding and towels were spotlessly clean,as was the room. Despite the negatives I would stay here again but not in the same room.
The location was good and free parking a bonus. Walk along the seaside to town is a lovely stroll
Room was small and bathroom old and limited for space. Might have been my fault at booking, asked for a bigger room upon arrival but none available. Might be worth checking that out before you arrive.
Staff Service Room
No bath towel Heating didn't work
This is what many would consider a basic hotel but it's functional, the soft furnishings are clean, comfy bed, roomy single room and the staff... what are they ON? They're so happy and helpful - in fact they must be the most pleasant hotel staff in the world! Oh - and the views - always a bonus being by the sea
I had to leave the next morning
Reception offered us a room with a sea view instead of the one we had been allocated. All staff were friendly and helpful.
Room was very small but we were told that the sea view room was smaller than the one we had been allocated.
excellent shower. Real value for money breakfast.
very tired and jaded property. Chair in room filthy
The room we had was of very poor and small the shower was very poor I myself did not use it needs a lot of improvement and upgraded
Staff pleasant & helpful
Hotel in general and friendly staff.
Room was a bit small for a double with no hand wash facilities or mirror etc in the small Shower room/Toilet
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a excellent view of the bay, and has a pool , steam room and sauna. The breakfast at the Lancaster was very enjoyable and the view spectacular. At night we had a bar meal and a couple of drinks and it was really good and inexpensive. We enjoyed our stay at the Lancaster, and if we are in the area we will come again.
The shower room was a bit small, apart from that all was good.
Staff very friendly and accommodating location excellent with good sea frontage
Rooms are adequate and kept clean but rather small I would not like to spend a long holiday in such a small room.
Ideally situated Access to town Good breakfast
Someone locked out at 0100hrs shouting and swearing to try to get someone to open the door. Went on for about 45mins Poor menu
The view. One young male wait staff was very nice and breakfast food was good.
This hotel must have been lovely years ago but it is begging to be cleaned up and modernized. Shower stall had mould, sink badly cracked, carpet icky, windows need cleaning and curtains may never have been washed.
View whilst having breakfast
Very tired decor, hotel badly in need of a refurbishment. Could not find light switch when i went to the toilet, it was quicker to go to my room.
staff were friendly
room was uncomfortably hot as location was above boiler and noisy only stayed one night as couldn't face another night in those conditions felt it to have been a waste of money
Helpfulness of staff Swimming pool Location
The location was very good. Staff friendly and an enjoyable breakfast.
The overall fabric of the building was very poor. I don't think the place has seen a lick of paint since the 1960's! In saying that, some of the décor was shades of 1980! Needs a complete make over. Sorry, but it's not up to standard for today's traveller.
Staff very helpful and very pleasant breakfast excellent evening food very good and value for money.pool area very clean. And would stay there again. Very handy for town centre. Tom Ruby McCann Clydebank
Rooms a bit old fashent but very Clean. But could not fault it very quiet and looking forward to our next visit
out dated decoration and staff not professional
Location on waterfront; easy walk to shops & town amenities. Breakfast room overlooks the water.
Facility is old & tired; there was mould in the shower that hadn't been cleaned off; residents were smoking just otside the entrance & the smell of smoke came in persistently & made sitting in the bar most unpleasant. Place needs a good coat of paint & a general upgrade.
Good english breakfast, although I would have liked to see it as a full Scottish brekky i.e with haggis and tattie scone. Staff were very good (Stuart at breakfast and Andrea in the bar at night)
when you get front rooms you might have a great sea view, breakfast is good, they have their own pub, and its just a 10 min walk alongside the sea front downtown and harbour
rooms are bad, whole location needs a total renovation
Friendly staff excellent breakfast beautiful views
