Good situation. Good value for me although I have paid more than double for the same room before. Breakfast is pricy but then you don't have to have it!

I liked the way in which the old building had been adapted to a high standard. I liked the room and its attention to detail including the hidden kettle and tea making equipment and the various lights available. I liked the fan having been made available to get the air moving as when I used to live in Bloomsbury there was a certain stillness when traffic was rumbling not too far away which could be uncomfortable when it was hot. I liked the staff and their helpful first introduction to the hotel and offer to carry the bags . all in all a very welcoming team. I was of the view that a more varied breakfast menu including kippers and a few unusual dishes would have added to what was a good and adequate spread of food. I was a little surprised that breakfast was extra.

Nice location, nice hotel near the British Museum. Staff very nice, another nice thing: large choice of free tea and coffe in the room, with all you need to make it by yourself. Rooms are very very nice. Tough a bit expensive... But hotels in general are expensive in London. No lift, and some doubts about the curtains in the room: were they really green originally, or were they dirty ????

Excellent location It's a bit 'run down'. The first room I was shown to was already occupied - the first time this has ever happened to me. This was quickly resolved. The tariff of £150 was high for a 'semi en suite'. No lifts. No safe in the room. I requested a second pillow but this was not delivered.

The location and some of the staff were very pleasant. There was no lift. When I asked for help to bring my bag up stairs the conceirge aid he was too busy and it was the guest's reponsibility. On reflection of his rather brash statement he then added that he might bring it up for me later on which in fairness he did. It was old, dirty, the carpets were grubby and the paint work dirty.

The staff was very kind and nice and the location was about 5-10 minutes walking from the center We paid 90 Gbp and we got nice room but and there is a big but the toilet was outside the room for us and for a few more rooms together that means we didn't have private bathroom and the shower was in the middle of the room with nothing to hide it so if you get a shower who else in the room can see u, and if someone opens the rooms door he can see you too. In addition there is no elevator there are stairs and a bell boy that can take ur things

Convenient location We had booked a "superior room". The receptionist asked to pay in advance. Then he revealed that the "superior room" was in the basement and that was the only room left. In other words they deceived us.

Excellent location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable accommodation. A few simple things would make all the difference: 1. The net curtain was very dirty, even though the room was generally very clean. 2. The room was noisy, with no double glazing. 3. There was no hook opposite the shower to hang the towel on 4. I did not mind that the toilet was on the landing, but a bathrobe would have made things easier.

The Lancaster was easy to find via the underground from Heathrow. Great spot for touring London. When we arrived we had a full ensuites bathroom, a comfortable bed and opening windows. Easy to get to Fabric via taxi if your into the club scene, also easy to get to Oxford street for the shops. Clean and a comfortable stay

I have been staying at the Lancaster with reservations re the winding stairs and the lack of en-suite (this is due to both the building and the cost of everything).I Arrived to find that I had been upgraded to the Portland which is an hotel which has microwave facilities, with a sink, etc. Of course en-suite too and a lift - the Lancaster has no lift. It was excellent but had I known I could have organised to bring something for lunch/breakfast, after concert meal whatever but there was not time to get these after I had booked in. Very nice though and I wish I could stay in another of the Grange Group's hotels in future but too pricey over all. Of course, being a self-catering hotel, there was no dining room and therefore breakfast was at an hotel a few doors away - glad it wasn't raining!
