The rooms are excellent with huge flat screen TVs, air conditioning that really works and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Big marble bathroom with separate bath, walk in shower, dressing area etc was superb. It is completely unacceptable to have a 5* hotel costing £300 plus per night without complementary tea/coffee and bottled water.

Size of the room was exceptional. Very helpful staff. Conveniently located opposite Marylebone Station. I didn't like the fact that were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Tea or Coffee incurred an extra charge! Also, I didn't like the fact that there was a surcharge to use the swimming pool. I couldn't find the information to state this on the hotel website or booking.com. I was charged VAT for my room twice, although this was later resolved very quickly after a phone call.

The building is spectacular, the Spa a delight. The service leaves much to be desired. Service levels were way below what they should have been for a 5 star hotel charging this much per night. Check in was very poor....despite phoning prior to arrival to ask if it would be OK to check in at 12.30pm, and having been told 'yes'....I arrived at 2.45pm to find my room not ready. I was asked to get a coffee (and pay for it) and that someone would call when my room had been cleaned (as a priority). At 3.20pm I had not heard anything so I went back to reception to find that I had to repeat the entire story to another member of staff, only to be told that my room still was not ready. I was again asked to wait. Only on raising an objection was my room upgraded and made available. When I called down to ask for the windows to be opened, I could not get through to reception, instead my call was taken by the switchboard, who said they would pass on my request. After half an hour, I had to call again and this time was successful. Such poor response has no place in a hotel such as The Landmark and sours the entire experience. I then asked the concierge to help organise a taxi to go to a named club in PIccadilly...this he did and I tipped him generously. I did not expect that a) the concierge had not passed the details on to the taxi driver. He in turn did not know where the club was, so he left us sitting in the cab (at a cost of £2.00 waiting time) whilst he went back into the hotel to ask the concierge for directions. The concierge did not know the place and had to look it up on the web. A joke if not so annoying. Finally, before checking out on 27th January, we decided to have a coffee and club sandwiches in the Gazebo area. One member of staff only was working a busy floor and we had to wait for a table. I then had to prompt her for a menu so we could choose our food after ordering two coffees. In the half an hour that followed, the waitress neither came to take our food order nor came to us to check on things, or to give us a bill.

The breakfast was fantastic. The Mirror Bar was great & the staff in this bar in particular were brilliant. Check in & check out was very slow. We were put in a smoking room despite putting non-smoking on the booking as our preference. It made sleeping in the room very unpleasant. The champagne I'd pre- ordered to come to the room didn't show up so I had to call room service to chase it.

We decided to add a day to our holiday, we flew in from Hong Konng that morning and booked that day. Lovely added bonus day to our holiday, the onloy downside was that I had managed to pick up a lovely virus on our flight back. However it made it easier to cope with being in a luxury hotel rather than at home!

Good value, good service That even as a hotel guest you had to pay to use swimming pool. The area and walk from baker street to the hotel location is not one I would choose again.

Nice clean hotel, the spa facilities are great. No tea/coffee facilities in the room. The room is getting dated and the tiling in the bathroom needs attention.

Very central location. Prompt concierge services. Nice relaxing ambience. Hot and cold water not combined control - has to turn the cold water tap on and then the hot water tap. Has to turn off one by one again. Very inconvenient. Bath tub - shower control ok. But difficult to run a both. Seems to have no direct running water from normal tap. Tv- Remote control channel changing extremely slow. Very inconcenient. Room door - made a very loud noise when closing each time. Frightening.
