This is a quiet hotel/restaurant in a rural location. The room was spacious and comfortable with interesting wall paper. Dinner was very good with a good value fixed price menu. The a la carte also looked to have some interesting options
Excellent classical interior with lovely artefacts, wonderful staff and an owner who adds a wonderful finishing touch. A real gem in an area of England which is pretty much devoid of quality hotels. Well worth a detour or make it your stopping place if travelling to Lincolnshire.
Beautiful old building, excellent service, fantastic food and very comparable rooms
We arrived late after a difficult journey and were made to feel at home. The food was wonderful, surroundings tasteful and comfortable. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else whilst in Nottingham.
Staff, ambiance, food and rooms
We didn't have to check in, friendly staff met us in the car park and took us to our room. The breakfast was superbly cooked with local produce and not from a supermarket shelf. The evening meal was superb with attentive but not over bearing staff. We were celebrating my partner's birthday but had not prior informed the hotel, on the eve I asked if a copy of the menu could be given to the kitchen staff to sign, the staff re-produced a menu in her honour before being endorsed. Additionally, when my partner's dessert arrived, the chef wrote happy birthday in chocolate around the plate and the waitress took photographs and emailed them to us the same evening. Truly lovely place and excellent food and service, we couldn't ask for more

Noisem from dining room
Atmosphere, friendly owner and setting. Dinner was excellent.
Power showe over the bath was too powerful, water almost flooded room! Cleaning slabs when guests were having breakfast!
Location Comfort Ambiance
Room was rather warm although weather was not that hot
Great hotel And excellent food!
The room and the house are very smart in a traditional style. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room lacked nothing. The staff are charming and the service is nearly faultless. Dinner was a delight with (very) local produce. Just wish that our vegetable garden looked like the one here!
Just a warning that it is in the middle of nowhere - but very tranquil as a result.
This place is unique and wonderful. Excellent food, quirky charming house and location, staff very friendly & efficient.
