The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The bed and room were very comfortable, ideal after a long day walking. Beautiful scenery with a number of directions to set off in depending on the type of walk you fancy.
The door to our bathroom didn't seem to shut properly. The holder for the shower head for tall people didnt hold but I worked around it fine. The room wasn't very soundproof so could hear next doors tv some of the time.
Staff were very helpful the spa was good and clean wainwrights was excellent with good food
Purdeys restaurant was over priced and the food was quite average
Kids in the spa and jacuzzi. Not what you want when u r having break from your own kids.
What a place nothing negative at all staff were great , best hotel we ever been ,will definitely be going back.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Good facilities in spa.
Lighting in grounds could be better at night. Very small observation which you may like to address. My husband is coeliac. No gluten free biscuits in bedroom.
The spa wasn't as luxurious as I would of hoped. There were a lot of children in it on a Friday lunch time just when I thought they would be at school. The pool area felt more like a leisure centre
Spa facilities and staff are great.
Rooms look bigger than in the pictures but when you are in this bit of the country you should not be hiding in your room
Excellent facilities, amenities and location. As everything we wanted to do was local, found that there was no need to explore the rest of the district. Langdale valley is picturesque with moderate walks if you look for them. Ambleside offers a more busy yet still calm environment should you want it. Very comfortable and warming experience.
A very small point - found the room a little too warm but others may find it just right (goldilocks syndrome)....
The attitude of staff can make or break your experience, we had a fantastic 2 days here.
What a beautiful place! Just loved it and will defo stay again already looking at dates! Fell in love with the place.
The staff wernt very happy and had poor communication apart from the receptionist who was just lovely. Working in retail myself I know it's important to have good people skills and not many did....
The hotel was very comfartouble with extremely friendly staff.
The room we stayed in was not in the hotel itself, it was pouring with rain and having to walk across to the New Years eve event in heels was not a great experience. This of course is not the fault of the hotel.
The quality of the Brimstone as a whole, the location ,the staff, nothing too much trouble, highly recommended.
As this visit, was a special trip(xmas), and the hotel is a spa, the closing of the spa at 6pm , on xmas night, was a big disapointment, also Xmas lunch was nothing special , considering the price of it.
Bedroom comfort and cleanliness
Staying outside main hotel. Reception staff not attentive to new arrivals. One employee busy at reception had to call for a colleague to attend to us. 3?reception people in back talking in full view of new arrivals. Ther shud be tongs for picking up bread/croissants, basic hygiene
Beautiful location in the heart of Langdale, with a river and old factory setting. The room was spacious, bathroom nice and this worked nicely for our baby son.
The wifi was intermittent, and advice regarding local walks for pushchairs from the front desk was poor - had I not known the area a little better I would have ended up driving for 30 minutes when there were acceptable hikes much closer.
Great all round experience. We will be back next year.
Elterwater is beautiful - especially for walking around The hotel is smart but relaxed and very comfortable with plenty of good places to eat The Spa's pool and sauna are good and it has a fully stocked, if small gym
The 'gunpowder' room decoration was a bit on the dark side for my taste
Restaurant was special, creative and successful menu we like the environment of a complex of facilities, brolly in the room an essential
Worst cup of breakfast tea I ever had.
The hotels facilities and breakfast where fantastic.the hotel is perfectly placed and has wonderful scenery. Me and partner will be making this hotel our place to get away. I honestly drove around lake district and could not find a hotel that had the scenery language has with its river running just at the side of the hotel make this a must go hotel if you want relaxing walks of discovery and lovely rooms with an amazing breakfast.
I can't think of anything I didn't like, perhaps WiFi was a bit slow and 02 sldidnt cover the area bit other then that the hotel is amazing and I recommend it to anyone who wants to refresh and get away from it all.
Every member of staff was customer focussed. Standard of room was excellent. Enjoyed the jacuzzi bath! Meals excellent and we were allowed to treat the hotel as our home as the weather was poor during our stay.
We stayed in room 124. Lighting along the access road could be better. Also that road was the exit road so dangerous at night for pedestrians with no footpath. Heavy rain emphasised drainage problems at access to rooms.
Lovely Location and the room was immaculate! Kendal Mint Cake was a nice touch!
My husband had a massage which he did not enjoy. In fact it bruised his back. Not very relaxing! The shower wasn't working in the morning and we had to call reception to have it reset. Modern technology. Also People were waiting for the buffet to be topped up at breakfast.
Liked the facilities including the excellent pool and spa....the interior of the hotel, particularly the bar looked smart...room service was quick and efficient.
Hotel was cold at night and staff didn't bother keeping fires going in the restaurant or bar if there werent many customers which resulted in these areas being too cold to stay in...as such we had to return to our room instead. The hotel felt quite corporate and is quite unattractive in its exterior appearance...more like a motel. The food and drink was very, very expensive for what you actually got....ie...good quality but not outstanding.
Staff were lovely. Facilities were high standard. Very nice relaxing weekend
The walk from the restaurants and bar area to the room is outside and it was not well lit.
Location. Spa. Breakfast. Walks from site.
Bathroom dated. Noise from exit road.
Location Facilities Comfort Toiletries Food Bar Staff
Bath a bit small and shower not powerful but that's me being fussy....all was very lovely.
