Very high standards kept at this hotel. Service, accommadation and breakfast was superb. They hide the kettle, tea & coffee making facilities in the rooms. My fault I should of called reception to find out where it was. Kept in a neat little box that I never thought to look in.

Travelled with family ages from 2yrs old to 80yrs old, nothing too much trouble for the catering of children, happy to sterilise babies bottles, and happy to clean up broken glass from over eager partygoers on night before wedding, always smiling and happy to oblige, special mention to Louise, she was a star, and Steven the long suffering bar man who never complained, and was pleasant and professional at all times. The wedding reception food was to die for, it was superb in every way, lots of compliments from our weddding guests about the food being delicious, and the service was excellent. A fabulous hotel in every way.

Beautiful setting, breakfast excellent. It was a pity we arrived too late for dinner as the menu looked super.Very courteous staff. Would stay again but would need assurance of a larger bed! Used to a super king size bed so really struggled with a 4'6 one. Did expect a luxury hotel to have al least a 5' bed at minimum as their 'standard' but accept its my fault for not checking. Room and shower were tiny but nicely appointed. Kettle had to be boiled on the floor which could be dangerous for less agile folk.

The service provided by all staff was welcoming without being intrusive. From Geoffrey taking the time to talk with us over a drink, Richard and Calvin in the restuarant serving the wonderful food prepared by the chefs and Michelle greeting you and saying farewell - it was all wonderful. After 21 days in the UK this was the best stop on our tour.

The atmosphere. Four poster bed in a huge room. Very stylish. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast did not start until 7.30 but they pulled out the stops to get me tea and toast until the kitchen started hot food.

Lovely comfortable bed. Beautiful countryside. Excellent breakfast served by friendly staff. Room was lovely but difficult to find a spare/convenient socket to plug in a hairdryer and wardrobe wasn't full-length so nowhere to hang a dress. Not big problems-just minor irritations which could easily be sorted.

Great Welcome & warm service. Breakfast was excellent. Lovely hotel. Would of liked a larger room. My room could not pick up the free wifi internet. Only had a shower in the bathroom would of prefered a bath too. Heated floor in bathroom was a nice touch, but too hot.

The setting of the hotel in the village of Wembury is attractive. The building is imposing and the gardens also attractive. There was ample parking and the interior of the hotel spacious. The decoration within was satisfactory. Sadly the visit was a considerable disappointment. The reception aware that this was our 30th wedding anniversary made little of the fact - not of great import! The bedroom, whilst large, was unfriendly and conference room like which clearly it doubled up for. There were a variety of faults - taps leaked etc., etc. (note left with hotel). The restaurant was poor. Whilst the staff wore white gloves !! the service was ridiculously slow on occasions, Breakfast was absolutely below average for a hotel of these pretensions. Brown bread "the bakery delivery is late today" on both days! Little or no local produce. As I said - a disappointment for a relatively expensive hotel!
