Can't understand where all the negative reviews re this hotel have come from (they nearly put us off). Good value (we paid £39 for a double without breakfast), good free wifi, big room, good bed linen & towels, good parking price (£6 for the day, good by Brighton standards).

! member of staff very rude . we stayed on the top floor , which was a hike with a bad hip. I asked the staff member for my room key and he gave me a complete different one , so i told him it was the wrong,He told me he should have recored it ,when i askd for it . i stayed in the same room the night before, so i would hardly get it wrong. the staff member was not english.

The staff were second to none!! They were extremely helpful and friendly and we wanted for nothing, the best hotel service we have ever had. There was no food except for breakfast and we were never up in time for it. The beds probably need upgrading, too small for a couple, other hotels have queen size or king in the double rooms.

The reception area and the bar area were nice, The room had no power point for a shaver..The curtain didnt close properly due to some missing hooks..the radiator in the bathroom was not working..And the level of noise during the nite..I.E. Doors banging and people returning to their rooms after midnite.Staff were not very welcoming...

The Staff - they were friendly and polite. The Hotel - really quiet location and no problems at all with noise even though they had stag/hen parties staying there. There wasn't really anything to dislike about the Hotel. Our only observation was that there were areas that appeared 'tired' and in need of refurbishment. Some wall paper coming away from the walls in the first room we had. (We had to move due to the shower falling to pieces - which was dealt with efficiently.)

Location - walk to shops and beach There was no hot water for sink or shower. The phone did not work to call down to reception or call out. My husband's hot breakfast arrived 10 minutes after mine although ordered at same time. When I complained of all three of these things when checking out I was asked to write it down to be given to the manager. I have heard nothing back and no form of apology or compensation.

Excellent room which was clean with plenty of room for storage. Excellent value for money. I did not expect such a nice room for such a reasonable price! Location was great as you could walk along the sea front to the local attractions. The walk took around 20 minutes. If you stay at this hotel be extremely careful with parking. Myself and my partner payed £6 a day for parking but did not fill out the car registration section on our ticket. This resulted in a £50 parking fine. This was a small error on the ticket that I do not feel is worthy of a fine.
