Old fashioned but comfortable. All staff were friendly & attentive. Its position is ideal for town & front with no climbing.

Old and Characterful, Clean and Comfortable. The Staff were friendly and Helpful. It is adjacent to the Lees promenade and a good overnight stop before the Ferry. Good value, very pleased would stay again.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. The breakfast was also very nice and the service was good. The room was very clean.

The decor is a bit dated and could do with a bit of updating. The bed in room 16 had a bit of a roll on it, not sure if this was to do with the bed or if the floor in the room was uneven. I have a feeling it was a bit of both.

The proprietor was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The family room was large and airy; wacky use of bathtaps as onamentation. Room & bedding, whilst a little past its best was very clean and warm. The breakfast was excellent. Directly under the hotel was a pub, which again whilst needing lick of paint, had tons of atmosphere; welcoming and warm with huge open-fire [dog-friendly too]. Fantastically located for Eurotunnel- literally 10 minutes drive door-to-door.

Hotel had a time-warp, Fawltyesque feel to decor. Clean but tired bedding- faded candlewick bedspreads etc

The service was good. I was given good information about the stay and good breakfast.

the staff was friendly , the breakfast was nice and good choice.

the nets in are room was ripped & carpets in hotel worn and makes it look scruffy. also horrible blankets on bed. tv out of date. and furniture in room scruffy its ok for a cheap night but i would of paid extra for a bit more luxery.

Pet friendly was very important, friendly unassuming staff, location was good for shopping, beach access, exploring other areas along the coast. Breakfast very fresh.

Don't think the heating was on in the room but we didn't ask either as we didn't spend much time there.

The owner was very helpful had previosly stayed before,very good for channel tunnel and ferries to france,parking ok £2 for 24 hrs,could do with a little updating,but overall value for money

for an old Enlgish hotel full of character, with friendly staff and worn interior, this is a fairly good one

Extremely good breakfast, really tasty. Hotel spotlessly clean and staff very friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff Lift (we always book late and end up on a higher floor0 It was close to the dver ferry so we stayed overnight to ensure we arrived in time. Breakfast was good It was clean and comfortable ane did not cost the earth

The staff were friendly. Reasonable price and good location for the Euro tunnel. Packed up breakfast came in handy too!

Not a proper shower

Although the decor is slightly dated the room and en-suite bathroom were very comfortable and clean. Also we liked that the evacuation time was at a slightly later time of 10.30am instead of the usual 10am.

There was no mention of the hotel being up on a cliff and not actually on the beach front as we thought. Apart from the location the hotel was superb for the money it cost and cannot fault it further.

It was an overnight stay in folkestone for a next day trip to on the eurotunnel. The breakfast was fantastic and staff were nice and catered to my two small children. It is within easy walking distance to the seafront.

The hotel (and quite a bit of Folkestone) is very dated and I haven't seen pink blankets on beds for quite a long time.

This is a friendly hotel and a nice breakfast.

Worn carpets, creeky floor boards, gaps in doors and old decor. This hotel is in need of a comprehensive refurb. Mybe they can't afford it but you can get better B & B for the same price.

Excellent cooked breakfast with friendly service. Large bedroom with very good shower. The public rooms such as lounge and dining room are well furnished in an older style and provide comfortable, attractive surrounds. We enjoyed our stay.

Some carpets in the public areas were worn and the outside paintwork on the walls needed recoating. Very poor television reception (if at all) on old tv sets.

Near to shops and sea front, free parking in the street outside. Excellent breakfast. Hotel is a bit tired and needs updating, like duvets rather than blankets and comfy sofa Rooms large and airy.

Clothes cupboard a bit small. Only scrabble to play in evening resorted to sneaky sharks a childrens game.

Well located, good clean room, excellent breakfast, cheerful helpful staff, overall a good hotel at good value.

A friendly welcome. Very pleasant stay with a good breakfast in the morning to set you up for the day. The rooms were clean and tidy. The linen was also clean and fresh.

A bit outdated decoratively and could do to be updated and dragged in to the 20th century. The furniture also needs to be updted.
