This is a hotel where one would stay only if one has to stay in London. It was a clean as it could be allowing for the age of the decor. The staff were all foreign and courteous but the breakfast staff were unaware of the conventions of english breakfast and I was served poached eggs on toast as a sandwich. There was plenty to eat and generous juices. It was quiet and my room was checked each day and clean towels etc put in daily. The area was quiet and so were the other guests. I would stay there again if I could not find anything better at the price; cost to my employers was an issue.

Warm room. Comfy bed. Ok breakfast. Gave us twin room when I had booked double 3 months in advance. Man on reception told us that was all they has available. However when I stood my ground and showed my booking email he magically found us a double room! Very cheeky. 10.30 check out time which too early.

The staff were competent and helpful, the breakfast was of a good standard and the hotel was fairly well located I.E. near an underground station and central London attractions The hotel bedrooms unfortunately need a major make over

Actually the only thing I liked was taht they quickly changed my room after I complained of the bugs in it. The smell was of old and rarely cleaned rooms. Almost all the sinks and the toiled did not work properly and eventually you finish your shower in dirty water up to the ankles. I will not go into details about the toilets. My first room had probably bed-bugs or fleas, I am not sure, but I am still treating and taking medications for the rash I had after being well bitten. I did not receive any receit after paying. Noone helped me with my big bag. I do not insist on carrier but I would appreciate a little help carrying my bag up to the four floors, especially after having to wait for the room about 7 hours after a 7 hour flight.

The English breakfast was quite nice. Mouldy carpet, small double bed with broken springs in the mattress, spiderweb with spider in bathroom, staff wasn't there to let us in when we wanted to drop off some shopping mid-day and left us waiting outside since you don't get a key for the main door, loud traffic noises even with the window shut.

Great place to stay if your on a budget. Would recommend it to others. The fact that the toilets were not working well and sometimes you had to wait to use one.

The location is very good and some of the character of the building is still there. It is a case of complete negligence. Everything (furniture, sanitation, even bits of floors and ceilings) is either already broken or about to break. There are not enough bathrooms and the ones that are there are not kept very clean. There is no internet. The walls are very thin.

The fact that it was so close to the centre. The shared bathrooms were very dirty and the double room we stayed in was incredebly small. I am sure in a decent hotel that wouldn't even qualify as a single room. But hey "that's london" they tell me. Our room was facing the main street which meant that at all times there was a lot of noise coming from the traffic outside.

We liked nothing of the Langland Hotel in London. The staff was impolite and sometimes even aggressive. The room was small and dirty. The bed very small for two people and extremely uncomfortable (we kept feeling the mattress' springs and every time we moved the bed bumped against the cupboard making an awful sound.

Nothing the breakfast was cheap....also the room was not very clean or fresh as it shows in the picture.. From staying there I came out in a reaction to something.. Most likely the cheap linenens or because the beds are old.. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone espically poeple with children.

The location. The Langland should not be classed as a hotel. Apart from the location, it has nothing going for it. The whole building is in need of up dating and redecorating. Our room was very scruffy and in need of a good clean. My daughter was awkake all night being bitten by-BED BUGS. There is lack of toilets and bathrooms. The toilet outside our room was filthy and would not flush properly. The shower was so dirty that we could not use it. Luckily there was a sink in our room, otherwise we would not been able to have a wash. When we discussed our complaints with the chap on reception, regarding bed bugs and cleanliness, he said he would sort it personally + it would be ok for our next visit-THERE WON'T BE A NEXT VISIT. The Langland must be avoided.

The food was excellent - we had a cooked breakfast and choice of cereal and toast and jam/marmalade!! The staff were very nice and the hotel was clean and in a good location for theatre and shopping! The bathroom was also clean (shared bathroom) other than the toilet flush needed to be fixed. I would book again if I returned to London :-) The only thing I could complain about if I had to was the size of the room - this was very small even though they were kind enough to upgrade us to a room with a double and single bed (booked a double) there wasn't much room to move around - but it was very clean and comfortable!!
