Set on the banks of the North Tyne, in an unrivaled setting overlooking Chester’s Roman Bridge and Hadrian's Wall beyond, this friendly hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens and spectacular walking...

Nent Hall is a charming destination to enjoy a relaxing break. Located in peaceful gardens, it is only a short drive from the Lake District, Hadrian's Wall and much more.

This beautiful country house is on 300 acres of land in the Northumberland countryside. Just 12 miles from Newcastle, it has an award-winning restaurant and a stunning 27-hole golf course.

An Edwardian mansion in 1,000 acres of Northumberland Moorland, De Vere Hotel Slaley Hall is 23 miles from Newcastle. It has a luxury spa, 2 golf courses, 3 restaurants and wonderful views.

Beautiful historic castle. in lovely setting. Excellent food and friendly staff. Good location and plenty to visit in the area.
Lighting in rooms too dim No wifi in castle view rooms Would have been nice to have some lighter options for dinner
Impressive building, well located for Hadrians Wall attractions. Staff efficient and courteous.
Fancy canapés and amuse bouches are fine, but not when they mean even a simple steak is served cold and dried out. Attention to detail in room cleaning was also lacking.
Everything - We stayed in The Josephine Room, which was beautiful. We ate the restaurant both nights and the food was wonderful. There was a wedding reception at the hotel on the first night, but we would never have known as the function was kept completely separate and made no adverse impact on our stay. A fantastic place for total tranquillity.
Langley was all we had hoped for - a peaceful, friendly place with excellent accomodation and food to die for!
We enjoyed every minute!
We stayed with our american friends who loved every aspect of their stay. The staff, rooms & food were excellent.
Everything Especially the outstanding receptionist who dealt with us on arrival at 2.25 ish
Whilst the room were excellent the lighting was low because of the dark colours
The setting, the service, the food.
Mouldy shower curtain, ceiling and grouting yuk! Room 10
It is a beautiful place in a gorgeous location. The room was luxurious and completely spotless. The breakfast area was nice and there was a good choice of stuff for breakfast. We also enjoyed the tour around the castle after breakfast and being able to go onto the roof.
We found it difficult to get a taxi in the morning and the transport links weren't good; we were in the area for a wedding and we don't drive and did not feel the hotel catered well for non-drivers(although the staff were helpful in directing us on foot towards Haydon Bridge). We were disappointed not to be in the actual castle which I don't feel was clarified at the time of booking. If I had known the room we booked would not be in the castle itself I would have booked a different room which was. I felt that with the cost of the room already being high then there shouldn't have been an extra charge for the zed bed that my son slept on. The mini bar was far too expensive and I feel that the hotel takes advantage of their remote location in charging so much.
Just an over all awesome experience. Tour and guide was excellent.
Fantastic facilities ,Castle rooms a must.Friendly efficient staff nothing was too much trouble for them, food in the restaurant exceptional all in a fabulous Castle with so much history.
Very peaceful surroundings coupled with attentive staff
An initial perceived problem was dealt with immediately and effectively. All staff were welcoming, friendly and quietly efficient. Loved the new Grill Room extension, great alternative to the Restaurant.
Wasn't keen on the 'set price' A la Carte in Restaurant. Wasn't clear is extras would be required for a heathly Yorkshire appetite and yes they were!! Grill Room option more acceptable. However compliments to the chef food was delicious.
Location, rooms, drinks area, garden. All what one would expect from a five star hotel.
Food in restaurant was variable and the waiting staff need some training - very willing, but their lack of waiting skills were intrusive on the meal and made sure we didn't eat there again.
It was my dream to stay in a castle and Langley Castle lived up to all of my expectations. From arriving to departing my dreams were fulfilled!!
Food and location
Excellent, enjoyable stay.
Location was perfect for trips to Hadrian's Wall and various museums in the area. Castle was picturesque and lived up to its advertising. Food was very good especially the breakfast choices.
Hardly anything. The staff was friendly and the tour of the castle worth taking.
Quality of finish, attention to detail. Perfect setting, lovely accommodation, excellent dinner & breakfast
A little flummoxed as to where restaurants, lounge where on arrival but quickly rectified by another member of staff.
The elegance of the entire building & grounds. The excellent services provided by the staff.
The whole experience was something to be commended, the staff are so friendly and made us very welcome, the food was excellent, the castle was like something out of a dream, we were highly delighted.
There was a mouldy smell to the room if you closed the windows , perhaps due to the growth around the window frames which would come off with a steam clean.
Poorly trained train staff, trying hard. Peacocks at 5.00am every morning!
The setting is beautiful. The staff are all extremely pleasant and competent. The food was excellent. A well run hotel.
Arrived before rooms were ready but staff very helpful.
The castle was a wonderful experience, amazing was something very different to the normal hotel stay. Would defiantly recommend it for a special occasion.
The hotel relied on the impressive building and allowed service to slip because of it. On arrival three of the teas on offer in the drawing room were not available. There was a lack of attention to detail which you would expect from a 5* hotel. Overall the experience was disappointing.
