Surprisingly peaceful and serene considering the distance from Gatwick . Cooked breakfast excellent. Staff attentive and well trained. The ducks were talkative!
The bathroom being upstairs!
We only stayed one night in between packing the house and moving the next day - we arrived utterly shattered after a hard day packing the house up and staff were very attentive - both dinner and breakfast were superb and definitely worth coming back for - though perhaps without the house move next time! Thanks to the team for a lovely and relaxing night!
Aesthetics of the room and grounds.
A perfect place for a beautiful wedding. Staff were excellent, surroundings are fantastic. A perfect day!
Beautiful building and gardens. Our room in an annexe was well furnished and clean. The staff at reception were helpful and pleasant. It was convenient to be able to leave our car in the car park while we were away and taxi ride to Gatwick north terminal is short and therefore cheap.
Unfortunately by following the directions of our sat nav we had to drive along a very pot-holed road to find the hotel. In the end the only way we found it was by asking someone. When we were taken by taxi to the airport the next day we realised we had approached the hotel from the wrong end of the road! "Mr Sat Nav" somehow got it wrong on this occasion!
Simply a Beautiful Location
Great relaxing over night stay. The staff were very attentive and polite. Food was excellent, especially the afternoon tea!!
Would have been nice if the had a bar area to sit and unwind in.
Uniqueness and ambiance of the hotel
Our toilet was hard to flush
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, excellent food
Staff attitude, helpfulness and attention to detail for everything throughout the stay
Room. Night porter very helpful and kind as i arrived late and helped me with everything. The use of a bike when i wasn't studying. The food. The grounds.
One of the young women on reception was quite aloof and when with other staff, I felt uncomfortable as I left reception. All the other staff were great. Also my phone didn't work in the room and there was no reception for my mobile. The safe didn't work and the plug in the bath got stuck, so the chain broke. Other than that - wonderful.
This hotel and the service were faultless.
Delightful luxury hotel in a most magnificent Elizabethan building with delightful gardens. Room and staff were fine but cannot comment on the restaurant as we did not eat here either for dinner or breakfast although it did appear to be was very expensive
2 small cappuccinos £10.13p (including a 12.5% service charge)
Gardens, staff, ambiance
Nothing - it was all good
Brilliantly accommodated my requests, room was fantastic. Will come back for another romantic getaway.
The service and politeness of staff exceptional. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and the room with private garden area superb. The hotel was recommended to us and I will recommend to others.
It is a shame that building work is happening so near the hotel and that it will be a housing area so near.
Location, grounds, decor, professionalism
Bathroom cleanliness and maintenance. Size of room. WiFi useless. Lack of TV Channels (inc BBC!) half a slice of Black Pudding at Breakfast, poor buffet, poor sausage, no Baked Beans! Lock very stiff on bedroom door. Safe location impractical.
Very nice and quite place, a very old english sytle structure, 10 min from Gatwick. Wonderful garden.
Staff were most helpful.Nothing was too much trouble.Hotel building is attractive and must be more so in summer.
The hotel is now situated in the middle of a housing estate and the road leading to the hotel is in very poor condition at the moment.Dinner was expensive and over-titivated.
Not value for money at all. We paid £170 for a £110 room through booking.com. The room was very dark, the bed was small, not the cleanest. The restaurant food was very limited and over priced. Would not recommend this or stay here again. I only chose it, as I have been to an Alexander hotel before and it was very good. This one is not value for money at all. Suppose to be picturesque but it's actually surrounded by a new housing development.
Excellent venue, very convenient, very friendly, great attention to detail, accepted special requests well and executed them to perfection!
Dinner was fab ! Room was lovely and quiet, with lovely aspect out to lake
Accessing Manor - hidden down a long lane way with lots of potholes
Great customer service, a well presented hotel with comfortable beds, decent facilities and cosy feel to it, despite only being 10mins from Gatwick.
TV had really bad reception so chilling out in front of it wasn't really an option. Decor was a little random. Restaurant was very quiet and you felt that you had to whisper everything you said.
- The grounds are superb, fantastic gardens & surrounding moat. - Very friendly, helpful staff. - Excellent food & wine in the restaurant.
-Depending on which way you approach the hotel, one road is so badly maintained that the enormous & frequent pot-holes will ruin the underside of your car (as it did mine).
Quiet, nice premises, good parking, close to airport.
Breakfast too late for early travellers.
