“An incredibly beautiful building in scenic surroundings. The room we stayed in was very tastefully decorated and furnished, and very luxurious. The breakfast was delicious and in a very classy and comfortable room with lovely views over the gardens. It was perfect for us - we would have loved to stay longer and certainly plan to return one day.”

Stayed overnight prior to fight from Gatwick. We did not use the parking facilities as we had already booked that in advance. Initially incorrect room was provided but this was soon amended and we stayed in the room we had booked - The Henry Viii. We were fortunate that afternoon to have nice weather and were able to sit on our private terrace. It was hard to believe that we were only 10 mins from Gatwick, it felt like the Kent countryside!. Bed and linen clean and comfortable. Bath & shower clean with copious piping hot water and good products. Food and service in restaurant excellent, but some guests commented on small portions. Left for long flight in the morning feeling very relaxed. We opted not to stay for breakfast but would imagine this would have been very good. Would recommend for special occasions. I think the large open fires must be wonderful on cold winter evenings. I was disappointed in the change of decor in restaurant, now very modern which I felt detracted from the Elizabethan manor house that it is, this theme is followed in the lounge areas, although not in anyway unpleasant it is just my opinion that it would have been more in keeping to have a more Elizabethan theme. Would stay again for special occasion prior to flying from Gatwick but would find the overall cost for one night, evening meal and drinks too much to stay as regular as we fly from Gatwick.

Upgraded rooms are lovely! Food super! Staff excellent! The standard room was not very big. Like living in a small loft, we asked for another room. We had to upgrade at additional price.

We selected the Langshott as we wanted to stay somewhere really nice before heading out early from Gatwick on our honeymoon. The Langshoot totaly met our expectations, the room was lovely, we stayed in a standard double and it was extremely well decorated, comfortable and the staff were very helpful. We arrived early evening as we wanted to chill out and have a few drinks, some room service and watch the telly - it was totally relaxing. It is a lovely setting and we will be back to stay again in the future!

Loved the grounds. Immaculately kept, beautiful, gardens. Room size was spacious, bathroom counter with two sinks was a wonderful surprise. Loved the French press and coffee in the room. The historic property is charming, and seems to maintain it's historic integrity, while the rooms have every modern amenity we could want. The turn down service was really lovely. Leaving the robes on the bed was a nice touch. The hotel was selected for proximity to Gatwick airport at the end of a holiday to the UK. I would definitely stay again if in the area. Just one thing... The coffee mugs in the room were not clean. After I made the coffee in the press, I could not drink it as the mugs were visibly not clean. They needed to be run through a dishwasher.

Location, garden, style. Very poor restaurant, uninspiring and pretentious menu, with outrageous prices. Poor service in restaurant too! No invoice was sent to me ( the printer was not working when I checked out) in spite of a promise to email it to me on the day!

Stunningly "Olde English" picturesque hotel - everything we expected it to be from the photos. Large rooms, excellent modern bathroom facilities. Excellent service at breakfast, although portions are not huge. Slight problem with the bill which we had to follow up after leaving as no help forthcoming from staff. Having said this the issue was resolved immediately and to our satisfaction; we would gladly stay here again.

I lked the historic nature of the building. It was beautifully adapted for hotel use, We stayed in the annexe which was surprisingly nice(one sometimes feels that an annexe is for overflow guests.) I particularly liked the gardens which not only had a feel of historic connection but were also well tended. The food was excellent. All in all a very good experience.

The dinner was excellent, beautifully presented and delicious. The combination of tastes was outstanding. There did not seem to be enough staff considering that the restaurant was full. We waited for some time for the wine to be replenished. The ice bucket was not put at our table which was why we did not fill our own glasses.
