Location to family and proximity to sea. Breakfast was plentiful and service in the dining room excellant. Only an overnight stay so didn't experience the grounds, the indoor pool was an appreciated facility. Would recommend to friends but with reservations. The fee charged for bed & breakfast was not at the lower end of the market, the room we occupied was comfortable but had not been cleaned to a high standard - bath room dusty, bath stained, shower head in need of repair, insufficient towels available for the number in the room ( ie two persons - towels for one) - nothing major but not what I would have expected. No safe in room for valuables which is a common feature in most continental hotels. Had we been staying for more than one night we would have requested a different room. The staff thanked us for bringing these items to their attention but I feel they should have already been aware of some issues as this was not in the height of the season and it was not overly busy. For a hotel whose advertising and pricing seems to lean towards the upper end of the market we were disappointed in our experience. Certainly would think twice about paying more.

Out of season mid week stay. Nice people, food OK, reasonable prices. WiFi a bonus. Never used any facilities, but would be nice to wander around next time. Great Views from Balcony, room fine.

Very limited number of hotels in the area and outside of Exeter rather limited our choice. The facilities appered to be good and the ladies on reception were excellent. The walk along the beach/railway line was most enjoyable and worth doing. The beds were appalling and we had the most uncomfortable night. The restaurant was not available unless we wanted to partake of the jazz evening. Local restaurants are scarce and the pub we visited whilst welcoming and with good atmosphere the food was of low standard. I cannot think of any overiding reason as tio why I would revist this hotel again.

Everything but particularly the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble. All areas of the hotel are excellent: some hotels spend a lot of money on foyer, dining room, bar and other public areas and skimp on the rooms. Not so the Langstone Cliff. We were delighted to find we had a balcony and a sea view. I am now retired, but during my business career one of my tasks was to select country hotels with leisure facilities for conferences. I have visited a lot of hotels that simply do not live up to their brochures or first impressions but Langstone Cliff was definitely not one of them. We will be back!

We have been to this hotel many many times since my daugher was a baby, She is now nearly 17. The food is always very good. The magician/entertainer on Friday night was quite entertaining for adults and kids. The gardens are beautifully kept. Most of the staff (the younger ones) helpful and pleasant in the dining room The hotel has gone down a bit since we last went in 2009. The room was not properly cleaned. Dust on the back rim of the dressing table, dust around the edged of the carpet. Hairs in the bathroom. Dirty marks on the walls. Dirty hand marks on the bathroom door. The free wi fi, was virtually non existant, we only managed to get on the network once or twice. Some staff have been there many many years and one in particular who was always grumpy is still there in the resturant and has not changed. We had been waiting a while one morning at breakfast and she went by our table and I asked her if we could please have some tea, coffee and toast.... And she was almost rude, saying she would come to us in a moment. Then a young lad came up to us smiling asking if we had ordered.... Much nicer manner. Which is what you expect. I think the hotel is now overpriced for what it is. Not sure if I will return again this time.

I came to the hotel for the wedding of Christine and James Maloney and was accompanied unexpectedly by a personal friend whose holiday had been cancelled. we found the hotel very comfortable and relaxed and were very impressed by the grounds, the views and the many facilities for children and adults with assorted tastes. the wedding was very well organised, the menu extremely good. All in all, a very confortable and relaxed hotel - most enjoyable. My friend and I are rather elderly and found the various stairs a bit much, but had we put more forethought into the project we could, of course, have asked for ground floor accommodation, but that was our lack of time before the event.

The hotel was well situated; it was clean and comfortable, the staff were pleasant and accomodating and the food edible. What more can one ask for? The sea gulls. There would appear to have been a nest on the roof immediately adjacent to our room and the sea gulls began screeching shortly before 3 each morning and kept up an almighty and highly unpleasant racket all morning making sleep difficult if not impossible

As soon as we arrived at the Langstone Cliff we felt relaxed! This was even before we had walked through the front door. What a wonderful feel this family run Hotel has. My adult girls felt very comfortable. Every facility that you would require for a long stay was available. My husband and I are planning to return just to have a longer say and enjoy it more. This is the type of accommodation that anyone of any age can enjoy, even your dog! Love it Love it! The only thing was the lack of an elevator to get luggage up stairs. Having said that reception did supply a lovely young man to assist with our baggage.

The location, and the views from the hotel will always be special, also the charm and style of the hotel should remain the same. The only thing i did'nt like was the room, it was very hot and although we had all the windows open it was still quite uncomfortable. It would have been nice to have had the choice of air conditioning. However, I know this is not always pracitable so as an alternative it would be a good idea to provide a fan for the rooms as standard rather than having to request one from reception.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the break was very good value for money. A lovely setting with sea views, a family run hotel added to its appeal, the spa facilities we tried and were happy with the treatments we had. For those watching the waist line dont look at the sweet trolley, the pounds will pile on. Get the right weather and just relax in the grounds with a good book theres nothing better. Lot to do in the local area easy walk to the beach we had a good day out on the Paginton steam train to Dartmouth.
