A little unpromising from the outside, a collection of 1940's boxes, but inside spacious and very well appointed with all the facilities one would expect. The indoor pool and snooker room were well-maintained. Rooms were large and comfortable with big windows and views from the balconies. Breakfast was very good. Dinner was a little uninspiring, although it would have suited a young family. It was occasionally let down by details such as over-salted veg and a rather "chewy" fishcake starter. The endless loop of piped music from the restaurant's electric grand piano got slightly irritating after a while. |

We were met by Nigel, the porter, who was very helpful as were all the staff. The bed was a little too firm, however that apart everything else was great. |

felt the hotel was luxurious & pleasant with polite staff who seemed well trained. the facilities were very good the noise level on saturday night was unbearably loud which was impossible to sleep through, despite two calls to reception the music remained at an unacceptable level akin to trying to sleep in a night club |

Location The hotel was I much need of renovation, I felt the standard of the rooms and other areas of the hotel were no better than a 1or 2 star b&b, and the cost should reflect this. Overall this hotel is not value for money. 3 out of 10 |

Lovely spacious room. Delightful location. Easy walk from/to railway station especially once I found the shortcut! next time I shall bring the family and stay longer! I would have liked an earlier breakfast. For my purpose, a quick stopover during a journey the hotel did not offer particularly good value for money because I did not make great use of the facilities. As a lone traveler arriving late afternoon and departing as early as practical the following morning I would have been perfectly happy paying £50 for the night; £87 seemed a little steep though I must admit the room with its balcony was delightful. |

Friendly and efficient staff, good food, good facilities for kids made for a pleasant stay. We had a family suite which although just one room was good for our two young twins and 8 year old. |

The hotel is family-friendly and the staff are exceptionally helpful and attentive. As a very successful family hotel, catering well for children, it unfortunately felt a little too much like a holiday camp for us. |

Thoroughly enjoyed it... staff were friendly and welcoming and one of the few hotels available that cater for dogs, allowing them anywhere in the hotel and grounds except for the dining room |

All the facillities available to occupy a family on a very wet holiday. On 1 day of our stay the rain was so bad we did not leave the hotel but they had provided a birds of prey demonstration that filled the morning and then the swimming pool, snooker and table tennis filled the afternoon! |

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was lovely and very clean and tidy. The grounds were beautiful and the swimming pools, although small, were a great attaction. Lack of entertainemt on the nights we stayed, although they do have a large entertainment programme. |

Room was spacious. Great views across the lawn to the sea. Nice walk along sea front to Dawlish Restuarant was sterile, no atmosphere, breakfast was bland. I was sat in the middle of an empty room on a table for one - very strange. |

A lovely hotel in fantastic location. 5 minute walk to the beach. Lovely indoor swimming pool, very reasonablely priced evening meal, staff lovely. some confusion over the price. says on website that children are free, but you have to upgrade to a family room to fit a cot in which is more expensive. They gave us a complementary upgrade after i challenged this, but i would be put off re-booking as i would have to go through this challenge again. Family room price is still good value for money, but they advertise children being free.... |

I had arrived earlier than expected and needed to change my clothes and freshen up as I was going to a funeral. I was allowed to gain access to my room before the offical time enabling me to relax after my train journey. |
