Langtry Manor Hotel26 Derby Road, East Cliff, BH1 3QB Bournemouth (Show map) Excellent, Score from 31 reviewsThis Edwardian manor is 1700 ft from Bournemouth's sandy beaches. It mixes original charm with modern luxury, including free parking, free Wi-Fi and award-winning food. The Langtry Manor Hotel has been called the “best hotel in Bournemouth” by the Guardian newspaper. On its own quiet grounds, it was built by King Edward VII in 1877 for his mistress, Lillie Langtry. Each room has contemporary décor, and has been individually styled by designers Portfolio London. Rooms also have a personal bar, hairdryer and flat-screen TV. Some are in Langtry Lodge, Lord Derby's former home, just 165 ft from the Manor. Langtry's restaurant has an AA Rosette and offers a 6-course Edwardian banquet every Saturday. It is lit by chandeliers, and has an original fireplace for the colder months. Guests can use the nearby gym, pool, hot tub and sauna free of charge. Central Bournemouth is around a mile from the building. Hotel Rooms: 27

We found our time at the Langtry warm and welcoming. The staff pro fessional at all times from first arrival to our departure and the breakfast service of the hightest standard and well worth the extra charge. We will looking to stay again at the Langtry in the near future. :-) No one could find a fault with the Langrty or it's employes or employers. The standard is of the hightest standard at all times. Well done and thank you for the wonderful time both my self and my partner had.

The hotel is a little bit of history in Bournmouth, about 15 minutes walk from town and beach, quiet position, rooms traditional and clean, comfortable bed. Breakfast was well presented and hot. Staff pleasant and helpful.

The ambiance was excellent. The rooms were different and well designed. The bathroom is too small, there is hardly enough room to move and dry yourself.

With its interesting history, it was a great place to stay. Nicely decorated rooms and delicous food made it a very nice break.

The reception staff are welcoming and gave my mother knowledge and history leaflet on Langtry manor. Rooms all have names I stayed in Roselind it was femine very elegent small but perfect for me for one night. Fresh cooked breakfast in morning. Will stay again. My only thing I disliked was you hand your key in at reception when going out which is fine but returning I do not expect to be sent to collect my own key hanging with all the other room keys. Not good at all. Where's the sercurity in that

Courtesy of hotel reception staff was just remarkable. The unique design of hotel as never seen before. Smaller rooms advertised as doubles are ok size for sleeping but really not big enough when it comes to bathroom. You can barely just stand in there.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a lot of history and it has some beautiful bedrooms. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms which was right at the top of the hotel. There was a bath and shower but you could not stand up in the bath which we found quite unusual which was due to the bathroom ceiling being so low. We were also woken up early in the morning by a bunch of pidgeons who were cooing quite loudly.

The villa is gorgeous and extremely classy and clean. I love the breakfast room and the garden around. The staff was really nice and friendly and helpful. Internet (yes...sometimes you need that even during the holiday) was not so good and I had to move around the house to find the signal. The hotel location is outside the centre and you will need to walk around 30 min to reach the city centre or the pier.

We stay at Bournemouth quite frequently and had dined at this hotel before. On this occasion we were pleasantly surprised with the room rates and felt that the value for money in every respect was very good. The only minor quibble was the size of the bathroom although for 1 night or a short break, this was not an issue as in every other respect exceeded our expectations. We will rebook for our next visit.
