The food on the set menu was superb value. Overall was enjoyable place to stay
Bedroom was so big it was a bit soulless. bad draft in the bathroom from the old windows.
The staff, the facilities and the food were very good. We are both in our mid 40s and were probably the youngest in the place
Our room had underfloor heating and the thermostat was not working. A member of staff tried to fixe it but couldn't so he turned it off in the room and left it on in the bathroom. He did his best! Unfortunately we didn't sleep well as it was still too hot And the quilt was far too thick. This didn't spoil our stay though.
An enjoyable 15 minute walk down into this lovely city.
Would definitely recommend reserving a parking space in advance, despite it stating that it isn't necessary when booking.
The room was excellent
Not sure about the Wifi as it didn't seem to be secure and didn't always work. Some issues with my emails after our visit. Pity about having to pay for parking.
Cleanliness, efficient , friendly staff, breakfast served quickly yet not rushed.Food at breakfast was good standard.
Nothing comes to mind!
Very comfortable and quiet, but just a short walk from town. Can't think of anything that could be improved!
A very acceptable stay. Lovely comfy bed, beautiful high standard fittings. in the room. Lovely and quiet rooms! Delicious food and most if the staff were very friendly and polite especially waiting staff and cleaners!
Hallways and passages looking rather tired! Lift really looking tired!! Chipped and markedPaintwork on most doors let this potentially beautifully appointed hotel down. Batman with very little hair was not helpful when I asked for a dry rose, it was most definitely not a dry one,! When questioned he said that's all they had, after looking at the drinks menu they offered two rose bottles.he was less than apologetic and didnt offer any alternatives which rather left an awkwardness! Not to push the matter any further I left most of it! The bar also closed at 10.30pm without any notice it last order requests !! Other than the bar it was a mort delightful stay!
Helpful staff, spacous room
A little bit far from the city center
We checked in to exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. We walked to the town from the hotel and explored the town. On arriving back at the hotel we were yet again greeted by friendly staff. On first sight the room looked lovely. Clean and suitable. However the top of the cistern on the toilet keep catching on the flush and every time the loo was flushed the lid clunked down. This was exceptionally annoying. By the time it had been flushed 4 times the flush actually stopped working and we had to take the lining out of the bin and fill with water to flush the loo! The bed was not very comfortable, I slept on one side as if I tried to sleep on my other side the springs dug into my hip and leg. I nearly fell out twice as there was no support at the edges. My friend (we top and tailed) who slept at the other end of the bed said it was comfortable, maybe the mattress needs reversing! Breakfast was lovely, service was good but we probably wouldn't stay here again

Big hill to get there
No complaints whatsoever, absolute value for money
Clean rooms and nice communal areas, breakfast good.
Toilet was sqeezed between outside wall and bath, if you could sqeeze yourself onto it you ended up with third degree burns on your leg from the radiator! Bed was ok although not good and plillows hopeless.
Very reasonably priced. Staff always friendly and helpful. Lovely rooms and good breakfast. Highly recommended
Room good, bit of a walk to get there, breakfast good.
Location is at the top of a steep hill, but bus stop nearby and taxis available and reasonable.
Friendly staff Nice room Clean and warm
Limited breakfast choice for hot food, small portions
Staff friendliness and efficiency. Quality meals with great service
very little - perhaps the bar area could have been a bit warmer.
Reception staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Very clean throughout.
Bed was a bit too soft for my liking. Ran out of vegetarian sausages and no mushrooms. breakfast staff a little too blunt! At bar ordered fish fingers for child. They had run out and so replaced with fish goujons...Then charged me the difference!! bit cheeky.
The breakfast was delicious and the service was professional and friendly. The twin room was spacious and luxurious
Only that the room was too hot on the 1st night. After we adjusted the radiators it was a very pleasant stay.
Lovely room , very friendly and accommodating staff . Although hotel is at the top of a steep hill my wife quite enjoyed the walk into town .
Free wifi in the city, room size, breakfast quality (not free), reception.
Some noise from floor - it's possible to hear people walking upstairs early in the morning.
Comfy, clean & well located hotel.
Non working shower and attitude of manager over this.
The staff was helpful and very friendly, we would use this hotel again.
Huge room, super view. Range of sitting rooms, efficient staff
Chipped furniture and underinvestment in fixtures and fittings. Being charged for parking when it is free on the road, old slow lift, terrible shoddy cheap secondary glazing, dirty windows.
Ambassador room - spacious, well appointed, clean and elegant.
Big room and bathroom with windows that could be opened.
