Underfloor heating in room appeared to be on full even though it wasn't cold- extremely hot and stiffling!!!!
Staff very helpful and pleasant. Although couldn't comment on restaurant, good breakfast and evening light meals when we got there. Good rooms and powerful showers
Rooms at higher level were a bit hot -but staff sorted for following night. A bit of a rabbit warren -lots of stairs -which made it very slightly awkward for granny !!
Lovely atmosphere comfortable good break fast friendly helpful staff
The walk up the hill bk to the hotel ,but bus or taxi easy to get
impossible to find one's way...endless doors and corridors without signage. Bar tender extremely rude. Should not be in that sort of job. Aggressive, rude and really bad energy. avoid this hotel.
Can't complain for the price paid. I would return.
£5 for parking.
Stayed here two nights. Hotel prices were ok compared to other prices in Bath. Traditional hotel with friendly staff. Enjoyed breakfast although portions a little on the small side. Nice short walk downhill into centre and nice to walk back up to walk your evening meal off. No issues with rooms being a small walk away as we were a young couple and did not see this as an issue.
Nothing worth mentioning
Spacious room , good range of breakfast
Being at the back of hotel with a long walk , and paying for parking
We were very pleased with our room which was lovely and spacious and we also enjoyed our breakfast which had plenty of choice
The Hotel is situated on a hill but we walked into Bath and caught the bus back which stops outside the hotel.
Welcoming friendly staff Comfort of the room (Ambassador) Character of the building Decent breakfast
Negative reviews! Made us quite apprehensive before arriving! For older guests the walk up the hill from the town would be quite tough. The many changes in levels inside the hotel are due to it's character and the decor matches the older style of the building and is quite appealing in our view! Bar closed too early!!
The staff particular, very friendly, helpful and cheerie
Food could have been better
We had a beautiful big room with bay window overlooking the town. Comfortable seating area in the room.
The walk up the hill at the end of the day walking around Bath. Although, it was very good exercise!
Great hotel 5 minutes walk from the centre of town. Staff were very friendly and the room was great.
staff very friendly, clean and tidy rooms.
The hotel was nice
Staff not very friendly
Could do with a spruce up. But that really is the only and very small thing. :)
The hotel is only 10 minutes walk from the city centre, downhill all the way but not so good coming back. The staff were friendly, polite and efficient, top marks for them all. The room was good with a very comfortable bed and large bathroom.
The only real complaint was the breakfast. Whilst there was a good selection of cereals and fruit juice, the cooked breakfast was poor quality and nowhere near enough of it. And where were the mushrooms?! Even the croissants tasted of nothing. We couldn't even be bothered to go to breakfast on one of our days but had one in a local cafe which was excellent.
Well situated, big room, very comfortable.
The plugs for the sink and the bath in the en-suite didn't fit.
Overall the hotel could not be faulted, it was clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Although the hotel had a lift it was quite a walk to the dining room. Also the hotel was up a very steep hill and the bus from bath town stops running at 8.
Staff very efficient. Room large, comfortable. Nice bathroom. Good large tv. Good wi.fi
The long walk up the hill from Bath
Food portions ridiculously small. Kitchen closed at 7.30 on a Saturday night. Beds uncomfortable. Room grubby. Bathroom dirty. The worst I've stayed in since Nigeria.
Some staff helpful The hotel itself is dated but full of history Only £5 taxi into town Easy check in
Noisy toilet from next door Women by drilling A maid came into room at 9am no knock when checkout isn't til 10-10.30 and breakfast served fast but not great and without drink. But unorganised. Most staff are of foreign nationality. Carpark tight to park in and they charge.

Spacious room and cleanliness lovely breakfast
Long walk to get to room lots of small stairways and lift was clostrophobic
Nice older hotel, with character, well located and friendly, helpful staff.
Steep climb back up the hill - but good exercise.
Such a fantastic hotel, great gardens we really loved the place and was very romantic! Breakfast was great, both buffet and the cooked breakfast! It's nice that they don't rush you during breakfast, and the entire stay was great!
