On the banks of the Avon River, Old Mill Hotel & Lodge has lovely gardens and stunning views of the countryside surrounding Bath. It is on a site that housed a flour mill until 1907.

It was close to the city of Bath walking distance about 10 minutes. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was a really good size and had a courtyard with a table and chairs. We had lunch and dinner as well as breakfast. The staff were very friendly. It was a great place to stay.
Quiet hotel... good breakfast.
Towel heater and room heater did not work. Steep walk back to town. Would stay In town next time.bac
Hotel has alot of character, friendly and helpful staff, was nice to have breakfast included.
Hotel is located at the top of a steep hill. You can hear people in the room above you walking around at night which can be annoying.
A good looking hotel with friendly and efficient staff. 10-15 min walk downhill into town and a short cab ride to the racecourse if you're going there, so well located. Our room was very big and comfortable.
staff were very friendly, room very comfortable, ideal location in bath.
lamp shade in the room was dented, did not look very nice when I came into the bedroom, also the first morning I had salmon and egg on toast, not very well presented, and I would of liked the crossants to be on view,so I could of helped myself.
Staff were friendly Parking on site
Old smelt bad old carpet very poor breakfast didn't taste good poor quality
Good location allowed for easy access to beautiful city, staff friendly enough however hotel interior appeared tired and needed some tlc.breakfast was very average
Personable staff at reception Single room facilities good including good sized bed
No tea or coffee facility in the room. Staff at breakfast suggested seating me in the garden room which was completely deserted - I declined!!
Service was excellent
Lack of air conditioning or a ceiling fan
The building is beautiful -location just 10mins to Bath centre - the staff in restaurant are fast efficient and charming - breakfasts slightly need more on plate but tasty and nicely cooked
The reception n lounges are very dark - the drapes are all swags n tails n dated as is the carpet but so much potential to make hotel really amazing n classy -the lift only holds 3 average size people n its carpeted walls n rusty dirty lift door are awful -pillows need upgrading from lumpy to fluffy please !!
very polite and professional staff, very clean rooms, nice atmosphere, beautiful building
a bit too far from the centre, on top of the hill, some rooms need to be renovated
Staff, rooms, breakfast facilities.
The barman and the lift
Staff were extremely friendly, we had the ambassador room which was very spacious. Breakfast was lovely & there was a variety on offer. Hotel is located at the top of a steep hill which is only a 10 min walk down to the town but advise you get the bus back up.
Very clean. Great breakfast. Lots of parking. Walking distance to Bath center.
The staff were helpful, attentive and efficient. The room was tastefully decorated, the bed comfortable and the bathroom clean. The bath was huge and the water was hot. The practise of giving us cones to reserve our parking space if we needed to was, we felt, a good idea, although having to pay £5 per day to park seemed unreasonable as the parking areas belonged to the hotel anyway.
Our room was a long way from the arrival desk and from the lift, so carrying our bags to and from the room up and down stairs and along corridors could have been a problem if we were not fit and able. The water pressure meant that the shower had a mind of its own!
The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.
The hotel is feeling its age and the room felt very tiered.
We usually use chain hotels so the Lansdown Grove was a welcome change - if only because the windows actually open! Friendly staff, clean and airy room, great choice of breakfast with very fast service.
As this is an older building, areas were starting to look dated. However, this is only as expected and the primary public areas were of a good standard. The hotel is sited up a big hill (which may be an issue for some) but there is a regular bus service passing the door and a taxi from the city centre is only £4.
The bedrooms were well equipped and comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The lift was very small, not big enough for a pram and a parent. The rooms were along way from the lift and there were a lot of stairs in between the lift and the rooms. The breakfasts were very basic and the cooked breakfast were pre cooked, we also did not like the fact that the car parking was extra.
Ambassador double room spacious with courtyard. Breakfast service and menu good.
We enjoyed the quirkiness if this unique building. It was located close to the Crescent and was an easy walk to the centre, although the walk back was all up hill. Our room was a good size, comfortable and clean.
The hotel seems popular with coach trips. This meant the hotel bar had older ladies and gentleman watching the BBC whilst enjoying the poor selection on drinks on offer. Younger people might want to avoid this and goto some of the nearby pubs.
The staff were very helpful. The room was a good size.
The lager in the bar was very poor, very flat, thought the room was a bit pricey for one person.
The staff in the restaurant were very friendly.
Although the room was described as one of their "ambassador" rooms and therefore more expensive, it was- 1. Stuck at the back of the hotel. 2. The bathroom was poorly finished, lights in the ceiling surrounded by chipped holes. Poor paintwork on bath panel, some cracked floor tiles. 3. Extremely hot, even with using the fan.
Location and cleanliness
No water and fridge in the room
Rooms very hot
