Best Western Lansdowne Hotel    

A very confortable hotel perfect location for us.Lovely room with outlook over the sea. Staff very helpful,breakfast excellent and enjoyed being able to get a good choice of menu at the bar of an evening.

Location, ambience, lots of space and small lounge areas to relax. lovely dining room, silver service very helpful & polite staff.

Very welcoming greeting on arrival, the breakfast was good, could have been a bit hotter than it was. Lukewarm sitting under heat lamps.

The room was looking very dated and tired. The landing floor was very creaky and people walking back to their rooms late at night disturbed us.

Staff were all friendly and helpful

Room No. 318 was next to lift. Every time it came up to third floor it banged and shook the windows in the room. This continued until 11.45 pm and started up again at 6 am. We cured the squeaky bathroom door by squirting shower gel on the hinges. Not a good room - try it.

The Food

Room was cold all the time we were there

we found a free car parking spot.

The fact my room looked over the sea, normally as a single occupier I am put at the rear of the building or near the kitchens.

The explanation regarding parking was not made very clear when I arrived.

Staff were all excellent and polite.

Breakfast food was just warm and dried out a little.

I was affronted at being asked to pay the bill on arrival rather than at check out - I associate this with budget hotels such as Travelodge! (They already had my credit card details from the booking so what are they worried about?) English breakfast is pre-cooked on a buffet rather than being cooked to order.

Hot breakfast items had been on the buffet for long time. Eggs were hard.

Price was amazing. Breakfast was very good, as was the bar meal. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Location happens to be ideal for seeing my mother (in a nearby residential home)

Parking is very difficult because of the restrictions on most of the nearby roads.

It was very comfortable, the price was most competitive, and the location was perfect (for me).

Room and location.

Poor service at breakfast. No staff there when I arrived half an hour after breakfast had started. Staff served two people who came after me. Told me to wait a minute when I finally attracted waiter's attention. I could hear some swearing in the adjacent room but I was not sure whether it came from the staff or some guests. I have made a complaint about the staff before on a previous visit and the poor service may be the result. The breakfast was overcooked because the staff had left it to stew.

The fact it is so close to the theatres for my Mum who cannot walk too far
