Excellent food Friendly helpful staff Nothing to much trouble
Internet hit and miss due to location
Location Individual Nice touches
The food was good we ate several evening meals and enjoyed them all.The staff could not be faulted,we also thought that the hotels location was exerlent and would stay there again, the beds were very comfortable.
We were disappointed in our room it is dark with no view, also the sound proofing was not good we could hear every foot step made in the room above,if possible avoid room 17,having made this comment we spent very little time in the room. When booking make sure you get a room with a view.
Had a very enjoyable stay and can highly recommend.
the hotel was good and comfortable the food was nice and well presented plenty of choice and help with my diet. staff very polite helpful. Kind. beds very good in backroom no views at all
the location need to be stated its not for the infirm or bad walker the stairs also ? .the car park like a ski ramp very steep access also very nerve jangling along narrow lanes/ roads. i went with no cartilage in my knee pre opp break so was disadvantaged
Ideal place for peace and quiet if you want it but lots of walking too.
needs a bit of updating
Location, swimming pool
Meals were satisfactory rather than a treat
The hotel was very good, food excellent. Staff friendly. Would recommend to family and friends and will definitely be staying again.
We had a sea view room with a four poster bed. Fantastic views to be had. The swimming pool was welcoming as the weather was kind to us. Food was excellent, and the dining room ambiance was very pleasant.
Only issue was the Wi-Fi connection and the mobile phone network connection. It forced us to really get away from it all, which after all was the reason for the weekend break.
The room we were given was room 16 and the room was so hot that we were unable to sleep even having Windows open and a noisy fan going at night.
Hotel was spotless and comfortable and very welcoming. Breakfasts were huge and yummy with all sorts of combinations. We were sorry that we had to leave. Beds were comfy and extra pillows were easy to get hold of. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
It would-be nice to have our dog with us but you can't have everything
Very clean and tidy Excellent food Attentive service Friendly staff
The friendliness of follow guests, the peacefulness, the views of Hope Cove, the food and the helpfulness of the staff.
The fact that sleep and the comfort of the room was spoilt by the situation of the room being above the kitchen. This made it unbearably hot within the room and the cooling systems provided were inadequate.
Food very good and well served as were the bedroom and gardens. We enjoyed our stay.
Hope a little remote. Taxi £15 to Salcombe.
Care and interest of the staff. The reasonably priced evening meal and the English breakfast served rather than a help yourself buffet
Blankets rather than a duvet but that was part of the old fashioned charm
The staff were very efficient, the hotel was very clean. We stayed in two rooms and the first with a sea view was comfortable
The second room was at the side and was not worth the money. It also had an emergency door to the outside which apparently necessitated a green light to be on all night making it impossible to sleep
All of it! The Lantern Lodge is a lovely hotel. The staff are very friendly, bedroom clean and spacious, breakfast very good and evening meal very good with excellent choice for both breakfast and evening meal. A traditional hotel within easy access to Hope Cove.
Nothing other than the rain on Monday morning!
Staff, small of beautiful clean linen, dinner, breakfast, atmosphere, great place. Its dated but it works. really works.
Wonderful experience, like going back in time to a more relaxed way of life. Dining in was lovely, Four courses of superb food. Very welcoming, staff very friendly. Beautiful location, bedroom with sea view par none, able to walk coastal path from hotel. Would definitely return.
Friendly atmosphere, attentive staff, clean environment, good food, excellent swimming pool
Would have liked more food for breakfast. Prefer self-serve from buffet at breakfast.
Decor in need of serious update
We spent the weekend here for my Wife's 60 the birthday. It was very good with accommodation & staff my wife suffers with MS all were very caring. We had a very relaxing weekend.
very nice short holiday will try to go in the sping next time
The staff were helpful and friendly. Nice hilltop location but footpath to beach closed when we stayed. Good value for money.
Décor old fashioned and very tired. Children not allowed.
