Quiet location, and very friendly and helpful service.
Very comfortable place with lots of pretty touch for interior. Had nice breakfast with garden view. Would come back to stay if we visit Cotswold area again!
Not walking distance to Stratford.
it made an excellent start to our weeks holiday
The fact that it was in the country just outside Stratford-upon-Avon suited us fine. Alan was very informative, the home was beautiful and the breakfast and the outlook amazing
Welcoming host, lovely location, well equipped & comfortable bedroom, first class food.
Very friendly host. Out of town but great location to visit Stratford and surrounding countryside. Excellent breakfast. We go to the RSC fairly often and will use this b&b again in preference to others we have used.
Doesn't take plastic, so had to send a cheque to confirm booking - a minor inconvenience
Allen and Jenny are terrific! The location, view, and the breakfast were very good.
Some of the drivers on the way there were in a bit of a hurry, but traffic was minimal. We did not like that we had to leave, could have stayed a few more days.
Huge, clean and clear bedroom, very quiet, giant bathroom. Wonderful breakfast, wonderful owners, wonderful garden
A car is needed if plan includes some time in city center
The host Alan, was very helpful & served us a great breakfast each morning. The B&B is located in a very picturesque rural setting, but still only a short drive to Stratford upon Avon.
I enjoied Everything. Food was excellent, the location perfect, only 10 minutes drive from the main Shakespeare intertainments.
From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. Alan was a warm, friendly and knowledgeable host, and cooked a sumptuous breakfast. The location was ideal, well away from the disappointingly 'jazzed-up-for-tourists' Stratford. We used our time exploring all the country and villages surrounding Stratford.
Nothing whatever comes to mind - we even enjoyed the upper-storey view of a spectacular thunderstorm!
My partner and I are very well travelled and found this b&b to be everything we wanted and more. The photos of the house and it's surrounding don't quite do it justice! It is simply beautiful! There are some pubs within walking distance in a lovely little village and no more than a 10min drive to the centre of town (you wouldn't quite believe it when surrounded by beautiful farm land). The owner of Larkrise (Alan) was extremely welcoming, gave excellent local knowledge of places to eat with his very helpful in room local guide and the breakfast was great. Alan was also more than happy to accommodate our very early morning breakfast request at 06.30. We will most certainly be returning! Thank you Alan, from Matt & Sarah (stayed 24th July 2014).
The couple who own the property were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The gentleman was extremely well versed in the best places to go and see and always had a snippet of useful information or interesting trivia to offer. They both went out of their way to make a lovely mid week break into a great one. The breakfast room was a joy. Opening up to a a lovely garden that was filled with birds and wildlife - it helped that the weather was wonderful, but nevertheless, I could have sat and enjoyed that view for the entire morning. They offered a range of breakfast options including a "Full English", which was cooked to perfection. The sausages were particularly tasty, good old large ones, meaty and succulent, without a sign of gristle or bone. As a confirmed sausage lover they ticked every box for me!
I'm scratching around to find some fault to counteract the glowing report provided elsewhere, however, if I do have a comment I thought that the towels in the bathroom weren't as absorbent or generous as they might have been. However, I do point out that I'm being picky!!!
Good hospitality, breakfast was great. The host was wonderful and made us feel right at home. He also gave us lots of information about local places to visit. Beautiful English countryside views and the place was clean and tidy.
The setting was lovely, off the beaten track yet not too far away from the town.
The bed was not comfortable and squeaked with every movement.
Everything! I highly recommend this place!
A little hard to find (narrow back road) but worth it. Have a good GPS.
Beautiful tranquil surroundings away from the bustle of Stratford with all the facilities one could want. Good breakfasts too
Alan, the host, was friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast with local sausages.
Very low water pressure in the shower.
Such a lovely cottage in picturesque surroundings. The owner was so welcoming, and the chickens running around in the garden were just great! We had freshly laid eggs for breakfast. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Stratford.
The host was very obliging and the bathroom nice and spacious. Breakfast was loverly, cooked to perfection.
The mirror in the bathroom was in keeping with the period but was to small to be practical and the mattress was a little uncomfortable.
Beautiful rural setting close to everything including old church Shakespeare married in
Just outside of Stratford upon Avon, hard to find on our rental cars SatNav, but we used our telephone to get info from the owner. Lovely place, great garden, great breakfast and lots of information
the helpful nature of the staff and personalised service at breakfast.
A wonderful B&B, beautiful setting, great host, fantastic breakfast, what more can you ask for. Thank you Alan.
