Room was quiet and well appointed. Location of hotel a bit off the beaten track but in attractive countryside. Food exceeded expectations.
Executive suite. Spa facilities Reception male person was very nice. So was bar staff Serda. and spa staff.
Last Drop always plays on its name and appearance of status. It aims at high end and expensive clients yet is poor. cannot make cheese on toast without getting it wrong. Cheddar cheese on Rustic Bread, came back cheap basement shop cheese on flat warburtons white. Not toasted or cooked on underside. sent back received 3 very small cut off ends of a baton with cheese on top. Attitude remains the same from some staff. Went there as child with working class parents, the response is eye roll, sniff, and up and down look at you as if you are meat or something dog brought in. Same attitude. It is poor quality for money. It loses a lot of trade because of it. Many I spoke to said they know they would get better quality better food and better customer care and attitude if they wen to local pub or local Italian or curry house. If I spend top end prices I expect top end quality, food and attitude. When i sent cheese on toast back I was made to feel they were doing me a begruding favour and condescended to give me a free cup of tea as it would be cold when cheese on toast came back. but it was made quite obvious to me they were doing this as a favour. Not because they wanted to or part of customer care and service i had paid for.
The price of the drinks were astronomical and the bar staff was the worst I've ever come across the breakfast was cold and not freshly cooked
Have been before to two other functions and enjoyed them. This was first time to stay there. rokm was warm and clean. Setting is unusual and quaint .
Snow outside but fire not on in front lobby area, it was freezing to sit in. Shower was very weak. Expensive bar and restaurant. Very short staffed for the large function we were attending there, long wait at both bars and tables not cleared.
The staff and food were excellent and everything in my room worked perfectly. The view from my bedroom especially with the snow was very pretty.
I struggled to find a sofa or chair in the bar with was not stained or looked dirty. Just a little tired for my liking but as an Interior Designer I guess I would say that - seriously it has put me off staying there again.
Anna at front desk so so helpful and curtious what a credit to you Will visit again
It was our base for ten days. The staff were always happy to help. Breakfast was very good. Christmad dinner in the restsurant was lovely.
The hotel is tired. Bathrooms are old fashioned.
Not a lot
I drove up from London and was given a room which was a 7 min walk from reception, when I arrived at my room the key card didn't work so had to go all the way back to reception to get it recoded. Total time to get into my room after checking in was 30mins - Not great when you have been in a car for 4hr+. Unfortunately this happened every time I left my room. The hotel rooms are dated and the shower has no power to it. Room service was quick but didn’t bring eventing I ordered however, the food was good. Don’t bother visiting the spa area as its dated, dull and in need for a revamp. The Treatment area was 0/10. It looked tired, dirty and uninviting Would I go back ? No way
Lovely helpful staff Clean and comfortable room Lovely pool
Love the location perfect to visit friends in Bolton but in the country and great for the dog. Spa facilities included and it is excellent. Carvery at the onsite pub was fabulous and the hotel bar is always busy and friendly. Staff were extremely helpful. We will definitely come back again.
Rooms could do with a bit of modernisation and breakfast though excellent was a bit expensive.
1. Wall paper was around the window was falling and can smell dampness. 2. Carpet was worn and cut in the middle. 3. Shower handle broken. 4. TV remote not working. 5. Kettle full of rust. Photos available if requested.
the staff where all very friendly everywhere was very clean the fmil room was very nice free wifi w eat in restaurant good value childrens meals for 7.00 1 free with every 1 adult meal whitch is a bit pricey but it was very good there was plenty of choice for breackfast
there isn't many tv channels less then on freeview the room ws very cold it was very bad weather outside thougn nd staff did give us extra blankets
Location is perfect countryside easily accessible as was Bromley Cross and Egereton both lovely villages
What`s not to like about this hotel
Complementary spa facilities, quiet location. Manchester City Center is only around 20 min drive away. First stay was amazing, second not the best.
stay would be much better if a room key wouldn't stop working after every single use. I can understand, if a hotel would have a problem for couple of hours, but our room key stopped working every single time when we been coming back to room for both 2 and a half days of our stay. Unfortunately not even once we nobody didn't offered a room change. And as room was located in a separate block from reception, it wasn't very pleasant to go every single time to reception when we wanted to enter back to our room. And when paying 180£ for a 2 nights stay, at least I accept door to be working on a second day, but it didn't happen. I didn't really accepted, when i was booking double bed, to get double bed and then single bed too in the room. Next issue was on Sunday morning, when during breakfast I asked for a breakfast menu, i been given menu, but when after 10 min no staff approached me, i gave up on wish of having something from a menu. Also as we been checking in on Saturday, we been told only one breakfast time, we nearly missed breakfast on Monday morning as breakfast is finishing an hour or so earlier then on Sunday's. Last issue was, that on monday morning we had fire alarm in the building. Can't complain- safety first, but fire alarm is soo quiet, that if we would of been asleep, we never would hear it.
The very tired look and feel of the hotel. In room info said breakfast in restaurant available till 10am monday to Friday , staff said it was 9:30am but did allow us breakfast.
We liked the village layout. Good breakfast. Excellent location and very well signposted. Room was large. We had the choice to use the leisure facilities which we didn't have time for but they looked good.
Room was in need of redecoration, wallpaper was peeling in a few places. Tv remote didn't seem to work properly. One of the keycards didn't work for the door but luckily we were given two.
Plenty of room to park car.
Key cards didn't, work three times in one day, room outside after being in warm sauna. Showers in spa need updating and fixing, including missing skirting round doors.
Rang room service and got told they were "mad busy ere" ring reception so rang reception & explained room service were busy and they so are we which I then explained that wasn't my fault she apologised !!
Comfy bed ,spa facilities were good and spa staff very friendly
Unhelpful staff, Room stunk of smoke( were still awaiting air freshener when we left ), Dirty towels , No robes, No phone in the room so kept having to go to reception to ask for items that should of been provided, No milk , Cracked tiles that cut my foot, Horrendous wait at the bar when there is only a couple of people there , Food in restaurant is substandard , Room is outside on an uneven path and steps that isn't even gritted even on the coldest night of 2014 , Real shame as this could be a real gem of a hotel
The hotel was perfect in all factors.
The wifi was quite slow
The Infinity pool and leisure facilities are outstanding. We will be back and soon.
The room was a bit tired and the bed was very uncomfortable , door to reception was revolving door with no other form of entry
Historic buildings. Spa/jacuzzi. Last Drop Pub. Last Drop Independent shops. Friendly service. Breakfast - all good.
Dated bathrooms in older parts. Poor water pressure in rooms higher up in buildings. Room service food was prepared poorly and quality of ingredients could have been better. Would go again but eat in restaurant or pub.
Decor Generator noise at 5am
