Fantastic rooms!!! Steve & Jodie so friendly. Perfect location!!!!
Lovely, clean perfect location, lovely owners...just an all round gem I proposed to my now fiancee in bowness. And it was perfect because we knew we were coming back to the laurel
No bar if im being picky...but your surrounded by them. ..so nothing to dislike AT ALL
My best friend and I stayed in the four-poster bedroom where we were greeted by the owners upon arrival - We had a 2 course breakfast consisting of cereal and a full English which was brought up to our room each morning (which I must add was cooked to perfection!) and the facilities were great. We had everything we needed. There was car parking on site and we felt that the car was in safe hands if it needed moving. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the location was absolutely fabulous. It is very central to the boat dockyard to get to Ambleside, the shops and bars / restaurants. This truly was a fantastic weekend and I would definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking of Bowness as a trip away to book here! I will definitely be returning to Laurel Cottage in the near future. Thank you again to everyone at Laurel Cottage who made our stay memorable.
Car park not near hotel and was full on arrival
Very Welcoming. Good location. Would recommend. Good value for money.
Great location and friendly welcome
Good location and comfortable bed
Central Location Very Helpful Free Parking Value For Money
Only Complaint Was The Rain !
The place was falling apart; opened the window and nearly lost it as the hinges were broken and wood rotten, wall paper was coming off the walls, everything was tired and dated.
Hosts were welcoming and friendly without being intrusive. The breakfasts were delicious and the room warm and comfortable. Perfect place for a weekend away. Highly recommended
Fantastic location. Excellent breakfast - was service with a smile Owners very friendly & helpful along with other staff Room comfortable & little treats left in room for us was lovely gesture Would definately stay again & recommend for anyone
Wifi only available downstairs but wasn't too much of a problem
The hospitality, the location, great breakfast, comfy bed.
The small bathroom and not much space in bedroom as bed was so big.
All of it ,a great couple of days in Bowness, will be back for more....
On site parking is available but limited. But this wasn't an issue for me as I arrived early.
Lovely well-decorated room with four poster bed, very impressive, with fridge, TV, and ensuite with shower. The breakfast was very good and filling, the property was quiet, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value too.
Not much- the only glitch during our stay was that the toilet in our bathroom kept breaking so that the flush didn't work and you had to reach into the cistern and pull it up to make it flush. Staff tried to fix this a few times but the fault always quickly recurred. However this is partly our fault as since our stay was short we did not formally speak to staff or raise it at the time and they might well have got a plumber to look at it if we had. I did mention it on leaving for future guests. The only other thing was the orange juice in the breakfast was a bit watery and I suspected it was not pure juice. This was probably a budgetary constraint but when you are paying for it, a little disappointing.
upon our arrival we were made welcome and taken straight to our room which was nice after our journey of 3hrs
nothing to not like
The staff could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much of a problem, and even when our car wouldn't start the owners came to help at the drop of a hat, which was completely unexpected and hugely appreciated. If we ever go back to the Lakes we will certainly be coming back here.
We had a fabulous weekend made all the more enjoyable by the excellent service Steve provided he went the extra mile every time and we would highly recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to explore bowness without the need to drive. 10/10 for laurel cottage and we can't wait to return
Position, comfort, helpful staff
Every aspect is good
Location. Staff. Breakfast.
En suite very small. Struggled to use toilet. No blind in en suite. Over priced for facilities on offer.
Very helpful and pleasant owners..... enjoyed staying in a cottage with history! Breakfast served promptly, perfectly acceptable. . Well heated room, lovely towels. . Thank you very much !
Perhaps electric pump a little noisy in en suite? Everything else fine thank you. .
breakfast was excellent. location was fantastic and owners were lovely
en suite was extremely small
Position excellent, friendly welcome and very nice room.
Everything about this b&b was absolutely lovely, especially the hosts and all off the staff. Our room was perfect and the breakfast selection really set you up for the day. Considering the new owners have only had the business for a short while they really have made their mark in what is a very challenging industry. We will certainly be returning.
great place to stay with perfect rooms, great staff and a super breakfast. Very friendly and would stay again and again
