Laurel cottage is only metres from the lake with its views and boat trips. For anyone who has limitations in their mobility, there are plenty of restaurants and shops close by. Laurel cottage itself has no ground floor rooms and quite a lot of stairs.

The location was excellent as was the welcome. We first visited this b&b 30 years ago for our wedding night after getting married in Gretna Green. We were so pleased that we were able to re-visit and relive our fond memories of Bowness. The onsite parking was a real benefit as Bowness was extremely busy.

The only negative is that we are use to a very, very soft mattress at home and the four poster bed didn't quite match up.

The location was excellent and the breakfast was very good.

View from room overlooking rubbish bins. Noisy on a night until about 12pm from the pub next door. Few cobwebs and dust around the room. Bed cover had to be changed due to stains.

location is excellent - right in middle of town. Breakfasts were best we have had in Lakedistrict B&B's. Polite and extremely helpfull staff. Very nice room, and comfy bed.

Very noisy at night as near to the only late night bar in town - similiar to living in centre of city with noise. Rooms got very stuffy - would reccomend a fan in room to alivaiate

The Owner / Landlady was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms need an update, BUT, they were in the process of a room by room refurbishment when we were there. I would definitely stay there again.

The location is very good the staff are very friendly very nice breakfast .

The room we were put in was very small you could only just squeeze around the bed to get out . Very small room at a price of £90 a night very over priced . No soap or toiletries in the room also for the price it would have been nice to be able to wash your hands .

Attractively decorated, romantic-looking bedroom, central location, well-cooked breakfast with fruit option. Was impressed that the owner shopped specially for replacement fruit options when items ran out. Use of swimming pool at nearby hotel.

early check-in time - although we were able to fit in with it on this occasion, it could easily have been inconvenient. The mattress was unconfortable, and I woke up very stiff: a memory-foam mattress-topper would make a tremendous difference - it does at home (I'm not that decrepit, and recovered once I got up, but a comfortable night's sleep can make a big difference)

Great location ruined by a noisy unsociable bar next door.

Rooms where tired, location is immediatly next to a very noisy bar that is open untikl very late with drunks. Incidentally the new owner owns the bar!
