The welcome from Alex and Jeff who made us feel right at home straightaway. The breakfast was great...all fresh produce.I didn't think I would like sitting at one large table with other residents at breakfast but honestly it was a great idea and would be a perfect 'ice breaker' for overseas visitors. The bedroom room was extremely clean and the decor befitted the period house. The village was quaint and I recommend both the Tea Rooms and the local pub where we had a great meal .We have booked to return with friends in November so that is testament to our high regard for our stay.

Facilities 10 out of 10 Breakfast was substantial. Recommmendation to Mrs Millers for evening dining must not be missed.

Breakfast was a bit fussy would of been easier and more efficent to place food ordered direct on to plate and created a less congested table where all the guests ate at the time. Would of prefered not eating at the same table as other guests for breakfast.

We were due to arrive at 8:00 pm and jeff was more than accommodating to allow us to check in then, after 1 quick email explaining our situation as it stated 7:00pm was latest to check in, he was even waiting outside for us when we arrived!! upon arrival he promptly booked us a table at the black swan pub just up the road and offered us a beer or wine. To shorten this down a bit as i could write so much! basically unbelievable breakfast platter! incredible bed! beautifull rooms and surroundings and great company from jeff and alex!

Alex & Jeff are great. The room is spacious, with comfy bed and everything is nice and clean. The breakfast is lovely and we were so full that we didn't really need lunch for the 3 days we were there. There are also some great dining out options around the area, within walking distance. Definitely recommend Laurel House.

Alex and jeff were attentive and knowledgable about the area giving us some excellent tips on where to go. Our room had everything we needed. Offers of tea, scones or a drink were very welcome.

The room was a little small due to the superkingsize bed (which we did ask for)perhaps a smaller bed would give more space in other rooms. Having chosen our breakfast items they could have been served ready plated. The platters seemed a little pointless particularly when seating six for breakfast when the table was too small.

Way beyond what you would expect from a B&B. They really do whatever they can to make sure you are comfortable, which, after a hike in The Lakes in torrential rain was much appreciated!

We were the only couple staying there at the time but were made part of the family from the start. Lovely, welcoming hosts and breakfast and comfort second to none.

We were using the stop as a break from a Scotland to North Wales journey and it was a bit further from the M6 than we had imagined. It would make a wonderful short break to explore that area more fully though.

Laurel house was like home from home . Alex and jeff cann't do enough for us they were so helpfull in every way . As for the breakfast i've stayed in a lot of b&b's and i will say this is the best in the business , tea, coffee and scone's when we arrived was great after a long drive , i would highly recommend laurel house to all my friends and family , well worth every penny of the cost , we will be going back very soon .
