Warm, comfortable, great breakfast, friendly staff, fast wifi, good location, off road parking.
I wasn't able to sleep comfortably on the bed, my wife was fine though so maybe it was just me?
Friendly welcome, spotlessly clean, thoughtful details like cotton pads, cotton buds and toiletries in the bathroom. The delicious breakfast (I particularly appreciated the fresh berries) was served at beautifully set tables.
The room was a bit small
The lodge was very clean and the owner was friendly and went out of her way to make sure my daughter and I were made welcome.
There was nothing we didn't like!
B&B aplenty in this neighborhood. However the attentive owners made my visit excellent. Hot breakfast on my schedule. Personal service like using their clothes dryer made my trip more civilized.
Ensuite bath was small but functional. Lacy pillow covers and floral patterns are a bit dated.
Easy access to Chester, great breakfast.
Not having ensuite bathroom( but we did know this when we booked). Positioned on a busy road so quite a bit of traffic noise.
Warm clean comfortable room good location friendly staff!
Was in a fantastic location, very clean with extras in the room.breakfast was excellent with everything you ask for with lovely fruit
Was in a room next to a you child who cried all night so only had 2 hours sleep
Very attentive and accommodating
Lavender lodge,is small quiet b&b ,in a great location. 15 min walk to Chester town centre. 5min drive to race course . 10 mins to zoo. Very comfortable and breakfast was excellent.
Good sized twin/family room Cleanliness = high standards Good breakfast Warm welcome Extra touches = bathroom essentials Easily accessible for Chester, the Zoo, Cheshire Oaks (bus stop close by or by car) Hoole village = choice of good quality eating places with easy walk to/from Lavender Lodge Enjoyed our stay & will return
Location was excellent it was only about a 10 minute walk into the city. Also local pubs were very good. The guest house was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would deffently stay again. Many thanks
Location, Staff and Breakfasts.
Very friendly owner. The room was clean and good equiped. All good, thanks!
Very welcoming & accommodating as we got stuck in traffic & arrived after check in time. Easy walk into the centre of Chester & a good base for exploring. Hoole was a nice area too.
The fan in the communal bathroom next door was very noisy, as was the heating that woke us up early both mornings. Was a bit odd to have to share a table for 4 with another couple for breakfast, would have expected to at least have our own table for 2. Breakfast service was also pretty early for a weekend with it only served between 8.30 to 9am.
Breakfast was plentiful.
On arrival our intro into the property was hurried with no attempt to find out why we were in Chester so no help readily given re directions etc. Wifi did not work in our room, previous reviews mention this issue which has obviously not been addressed . Our room was very cramped with no full length wardrobe which was very awkward for hanging dresses and no ironing facilities to compensate.. All in all no tworth the rate we paid
Comfy bed .Shower room excellent .
Car parking was tricky
We stayed here as my husband was doing the Chester marathon in October. The owner was very friendly and informative about the local area and we had a superb Chinese meal nearby. Our room was a small double with a separate private bathroom and was a value deal. It is exceptionally clean and well decorated with lovely individual touches ( far better than the big hotel chains). Food was fantastic but even better was the way that our needs were met, with a very early breakfast provided for the marathon day and even providing coffee for a friend who came to meet us there.
Was woken by an ambulance siren in early hours
The room was very comfortable, with a lovely, recently renovated bathroom and the breakfast was excellent. Our room at the back of the house was very quiet.
Our room was a bit chilly the first evening but this was quickly sorted the following day with supplementary heating provided and then the central heating came on. I think the change in weather caught us all out!
Only 5 minutes in taxi or 10 minutes walk from train station. Clean room, great shower, comfortable bed, tv, on suite, quite location, friendly breakfast staff and awesome cooked breakfast.
We got last room and room smelled damp, wanted to complain but wife didnt want to cause a scene. Struggled to sleep with the smell on first night but seemed to improve on the second. Wifi didnt work, I raised the issue only to be told it was my error or my device had problem. Then informed on leaviing there was a problem with wifi. Key didnt work for main house, again got a talking down by landlady for not turning key left. 3 of the party tried all failed.
The friendliness of the host and her team. The breakfasts were worth getting up for with the fresh fruit being very enticing as well as ticking the healthy box. Every creature comfort was catered for and the room facilities matched, if not exceeded, those of a hotel with the added personal touch. Loved the added touch of the do not disturb bedroom bear
Nothing not to like about Lavender Lodge other than the fact we had to come home after a very enjoyable weekend
The room was very comfortable and clean. Very good selection for Breakfast well presented and cooked. Helpful and friendly Staff. Good location. Would stay there again if I return to Chester.
We had the garden room, there was plenty of space to move around. It was very clean. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, freshly cooked. We were offered more tea and coffee and asked if we would like more toast.
Everything, very convenient, good clean facilities, great breakfast, highly recommended.
Lavender Lodge is a lovely guest house, absolutely immaculate and well presented. Fredrica and her staff are very friendly and go out of their way to offer local advice. Her breakfasts are amazing. I couldn't manage a full English two days in a row so opted for scrambled eggs with Salmon, best scrambled eggs I've had in a very long time! Location is excellent.
Had a little bit of bother getting into the parking bay, but there is plenty of free parking on main road, so not really an issue. Also loud guests next door who wake up very early and don't realise how loud they are being. But again can't really be helped and certainly not enough to put me off going again.
