Location. Beautiful room with large beautiful windows facing Piccadilly without any noise from the road. Lovely flower planted window boxes. Great AC. New sparkling and modern spa like bathroom. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Extremely polite and helpful staff, especially at front desk and terrace restaurant. Large closet with multiple drawers and storage.
My relatives were staying on the ninth floor in a suite that was large and well furnished for families with children. It was very spacious with two windowed bathrooms. The negative, the rooms were at the top of the hotel and felt isolated, it was as though they were in a completely different hotel and the rooms needed updating. They were very impressed with my room.
Bed was not the best and bathroom old and tiles not very clean- disappointing for a 5 star hotel.
The breakfast was excellent and the location is good. The concierge was very helpful.
Not as good as it was some years ago. On the Sunday evening there was no bar open after 10.30 so when we arrived back after a meal we had to go to our room and use the mini bar for a drink.
Location is very central indeed. Rooms are quite large
No view (air conditioning units from other apartments). Bathroom extremely poor indeed for a 5 star. Extras are extortionate and the whole place feels a bit like a money-trap.

The rooms are awful. I had forgotten that I had said I wouldn't stay there again but booked because location very handy. I have stayed there about 6 times and use Westin all over the world but never had anything that would resemble a good room. The "air conditioning" which makes a sound like a light aircraft taking it off when it bursts into life for about 30 seconds every half hour is better than any alarm clock at waking you up - sadly it does it all through the night.

The hotel is in a great location for all amenities. Lunch in the Terrace restaurant was good.
Had to wait nearly half an hour to sort out why there were 2 bookings for us. Receptionist asked me to stand and check back to my Feb 2014 emails to confirm that I had changed booking - I had done this through manage my bookings on booking.com. Although she had the booking for the date we arrived, she had another booking for the next day. She went on and on about how she couldn't cancel the next days booking without my email. She rang her manager etc etc. By now a queue was forming behind us and we were feeling very humiliated and actually asked are we staying or not as I told her we were ready to walk out and go home! Eventually got our room, to be stuck up in a claustrophobic actic room, where I could see out of the window if I went up steps and stood on tiptoe. I had requested a road facing room! Asked to change rooms and did. The next one was ok, but I was told we had upgraded to deluxe which is what I had booked anyway. 2nd room had a bathroom that needed TLC! Wasn't a room I would call an upgrade or by any means deluxe! But by now we were both tired and couldn't be bothered to complain again. When we asked for a drink in the bar at night to take to our room, the bar man was not sure if we could take glasses out of the bar and had to check!!!! Hot breakfast was not great. Streaky bacon that was quite rubbery & salty scrambled eggs. I have stayed in Meridien sereval times previously and had always rated it. The service used to be very good from the moment the commissionaire in his top hat opened the taxi door and took your luggage into the hotel with a warm welcome. That all seems to have disappeared now and we got none of the service we expected!
