On arriving the staff made you feel very welcome, couldn't have done anything else for us. They were amazing. The room itself was beautiful and clean. Everything was explained and the personalised welcome letter was a very nice touch and I really liked it. The food was great as well, had breakfast both days and an evening meal and they were fantastic. Great location for visiting Edinburgh, within walking distance to all the shops and if you need transport the staff were more than happy to organise that for you. Only downside to it was the lack of a view, but due to being in the city centre this was expected.

The reception staff were unfailingly helpful. We stayed in the New York suite which was a great size with fantastic monsoon double shower and felt very like the loft apartment it was styled on. The tea/coffee facilities were ace and the mini bar had a good selection. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. All in all a great stay. Unfortunately the first room we were appointed was not to our taste, a personal issue as opposed to anything else as it was clean and smart. However, we were then moved to the Sydney suite which I'm afraid did not meet the standards of the hotel. The furniture was scratched, the walls had water stains and broken furniture was taped together. The decor looked tatty and in need of repair. Nonetheless, as mentioned the reception staff were incredibly helpful and on request immediately dealt with our request to move.

The staff were friendly. The restaurant and bar area were very appealing as was the food. I really wished I had the opportunity to view all the themed rooms, but I guess that's a good reason to go back. Our bathroom could only be described as "Wow!" And that was without requesting a bath butler and rose petals !! An excellent location. A peaceful nights sleep. Everything I was looking for. There were no faults, but perhaps it's a bit out of my normal price range.

Location was just perfect! Lovely breakfast and morning coffee. Also staff of the hotel was so friendly and helpful! If you like funky, cool, trendy place-it is THE place. Really noisy during weekend nights!Music from the bar and other guests has been unbearable! I did get around 4 hours sleep.

The location and the hard working staff in hotel. Politeness. Have pointed friends to the hotel who will be staying in January. Will be staying again in February to celebrate 60 th Birthday of my wife. It was a great experience. Cw Whittington

Location excellent, the facilkities like bar restaurant and nightclub also good The room was advertised as romantic getaway but the bed was too small for 2, only a queen size, the space around the bed was limited. Limited old selection of movies, and the one we chose was not available. Poor number of channels on tv. No IPod connectivity so we had no music, Bath & shower facility was good.

Friendliness of the staff. Decor of the room ....I stayed in Barcelona 5 am wake up call of the Dome next door emptiying it's beer bottles from night before into bins for a solid half hour. This however is a by- product of a city centre hotel very close to it's own and other bars/restaurants. The room was very nicely decorated, but a bit on the small side considering the price paid. My impresssion is that they are still making the finishing touches to the re-fit as there were quite a few workmen about.

Lovely room, good food, nice atmosphere in the bars. Our room was not ready for 3pm check in time. We were told if we had a drink in the bar someone would come in 15 minutes with the key. Over an hour later we went back to reception to find our room was still not ready. We finally got our key 10 minutes later.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was nice and clean. The restaurant didnt really have the right ambiance In was looking for to have a nice romantic dinner with my girlfriend, our table was too close to the bar, although maybe I should of asked to been moved. The wine I had asked for was on the table great, but I had to pour it myself which I thought was unusual. My girlfriends dinner was not great it looked like a steak pie and was a bit slimy. The starter was okay but the prawns and calimari were a little on the small side. The desert was the best part of the meal thumbs up! The waiter who served us was very pleasant. Would I recommend it to a friend probably not. But maybe it was a bad experience for us and we were just unlucky on the night.

Good Food and beverisges with evening meals and breakfast in the morning and location of city centre not to far from railway station. Worth £135 for the room..never in a month of sundays room I had was called Moscow and to be fair still trying to work out still why it was called that, tatty bedside tables I expect was supposed to give some arty thing but sorry it didnt, and lighting switch is a bit bizarre to say the least, view out the window was not moscow either so not impressed at the cost.
