Atmosphere everywhere so cosy &warm
The bar was six deep needed more bar staff
Prior to booking web page stated 'free parking and free breakfasts'. This was not the case in relation to the breakfast. Also there was an offer for dinner for £30 for two person three courses with wine. We arrived and on the large screen television right by the receptionist's desk was the same offer being shown complete with end of March closing date. They at first refused to except a booking as "the offer was closed" [this was mid-February] . After twice being referred to the manager they did accept the situation and we took the offer. However the breakfast was "not their fault" as it was on the booking.com web site which "was nothing to do with them" ?! Did not argue the re-breakfast. But not good situation as it put a strain on what was a few days away relaxation.
Convenient position and free wifi
Cold room, radiator off and took ages to heat up. Phoned reception and given electric heater. Very noisy bathroom fan,not fixed from previous visit!

The heating was not good enough in the winter
The atmosphere, the history, the interesting castle rooms, the fantastic wrought iron staircase, the view of the exterior, the location near the wild windswept coast. Price was lower than the modern hotels down the road too. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and excellent quality.
I would liked to have been able to help myself to more tea, say from an urn of hot water.
Look of the hotel.
Noise in rooms
Location, view and value for money.
Breakfast cold and bath access, shower panel limited access to bath would not swing out or in, access to bath taps restricted because of this also shower head positioned very high and to use shower head to wash hair you almost needed to go into bath to turn on taps and pull out valve to use shower.
We had an enjoyable stay, with a lovely evening meal on Monday 29th December. The staff were very helpful. We had to stay an extra night and they dealt with this very well, even though it was new year. The position on the coast is lovely and we had a good walk by the sea.
I would like to see more tables for 2 at breakfast, rather than large tables. Children at New Year running around the corridors, although this was not the fault of the hotel.
The bars were not availablefor us to take advantage of as Christmas parties had been booked. Also breakfast was hit and miss as only half of the menus was out on the table at any one time
Attention to detail for the wedding. Food
Fire alarm going off during reception, and at 6.45am!! False alarms
View from the room.Friendly staff.
Was told when we checked in breakfast was in the room rate. When we checked out was told this was not the case so disappointed .
Wonderful location. Good sized double room. Star dining room was attractive and welcoming
Poor twin room. Small and slightly cramped. Shower only in double room and that quickly blocked and was extremely slow to drain. The bar was very unattractive.
the staff and management were helpful.
We arrived at the leasowe castle and went to our room, to be amazed by the size of the room. it was no bigger than a box room and we were meant to be staying for 2 nights. i asked the manager if we could be given a different room but there were no rooms available until the second night. unfortunately we didnt want to stay in a box room so we departed the hote and found another one closeby.
The hotel was stunning and the food was on the whole delicious. Lovely facilities and a very comfortable room.
The staff were great, especially at Breakfast. The room was spacious and quiet and the bed was fine
The rooms and especially the corridors were shabby. There was renovation work going on which made for a lot of noise. My colleague in another room had someone sanding right outside her room at 7 am!
Generally very good. Quirky and interesting with excellent staff.
The hotel room was a bit cold. It could have done either with more heating or adjustable heaters. I am not sure the breakfast was worth the price that it cost.
Incredible building - a castle, originally built in the 16th century with odd characterful additions over the years. Super setting overlooking the golf course and out to sea. Friendly staff.
Poor standard of décor - tiled polystyrene ceiling in bedroom some hanging down. Window couldn't be opened. Public bar could be an incredible space set in a quirky shaped room with thick stone walls but badly decorated and furnished with no accounting for the age or style of the building - all for £105 (£115 with the greyhound) and no breakfast included. Needs an update!
Noise from smokers. Terrible smell of mould in bathroom which permeated right through bedroom. Breakfast cold & unappetising , fruit section good.
Staff very friendly and a lovely hotel. We seen the fawlty towers tribute while we were there which was really good.worth seeing.
Theres nothing to dislike
The hotel location is ideal for both city and beach access. There are numerous places worth visiting in the proximity
A good change from the usual chains, an interesting building. The food is good; though midweek the restaurant is often empty necessitating eating in the bar - often from sofas.
Heat lamp breakfast is always a bit of a disappointment. The TVs hidden in a cabinet are starting to look a bit dated and small
Excellent restaurant food and staff. Bar was fine and staff good.
Room was dated, tired pine furniture, no heat in bathroom, polystyrene suspended ceiling had poorly fitted tiles. Only 1 ceiling light in centre of room plus 1 inside doorway.
Everything! The staff were really friendly and helpful. Lovely, comfortable rooms and fantastic facilities :)
The dinner was a little too expensive for what you got
Staff were very friendly Facilities were great Excellent value for money
