Escape for a relaxing stay at one of the South Wirral’s superior 3-star hotels, close to the beautiful village of Childer Thornton.
Score from 105 reviews Very good
When we arrived at 10 pm we couldnt see hotel from road. There needs to be a sign at entrance from road for those who arent familiar with area.Car park was also unlit & wasnt easy to orientate parking of car. There should be a smoking room as it is unpleasant to walk past smokers right outside entrance to hotel.
Sorry I have written in wrong box above. We liked the comfortable beds & view from our room no.6 of River Mersey.
Carpets in need of good deep clean!
It had great views
Staff was amazing, helpful and very kind. We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back.
Picturesque views out of the windows into a gold course and they ocean, the atmosphere was amazing and everyone was made welcomed by staff!
drinks a bit pricey, the lift was a pain to use due to it's size
The whole experience was perfect
Great value for money, clean and would stay here again!!!
Warm, welcoming and very friendly. Just the job after a hard day golfing.
Paid extra for breakfast not very good all dried up.
Quirkyness of building. Staff very helpful and obligating. Food excellent
Perhaps Bathroom (the one we had) could be updated.
I did not like that there wasn't a Resident's Bar.
Food in portcullis restaurant first class .everyone very friendly
It was a lovely hotel staff were very friendly defiantly recommend it
Tiles in room 5 shower need regrouting
We were there attending a wedding and the whole day from start to finish was fantastic the wedding breakfast was lovely disco excellent bar staff friendly and we finished the night of by staying in a room that was excellent
Very helpful and polite staff
Location is good, with views over the golf course to the sea. Breakfast is good with helpful staff.
Hotel still a bit dated and maintenance not up to scratch. Shower was faulty.
There was scaffolding outside our window and workmen drilling at 8am. The actual hotel is lovely, but the managers attitude leaves a lot to be desired!
Lovely hotel. Use ehrnever we need to go to Moreton
Staff were helpful.
Some areas in need of refurb. Was charged too much for breakfast.
A nice location and full of character and I would label Quirky and squeaky floorboards everywhere Nice size room and the Gym full of equipment. Bar menu was great but they could benefit by clear signage as when the last orders for food can be placed as this caused one or two raised voices when other clients asked for the menu but were told it has already closed. The housekeeping staff were attentive well done
The room I had was an adjoining room and the door that separated the rooms was paper thin so I, like they, could hear every noise from the rooms which is disturbing to say the least. I did not like the fact that on two separate nights the hotel hosted Proms party's which as a result the level of staffing could have been increased as the existing staff I feel were over stretched on both occasions
The whole experience was very enjoyable. Bar food was good and reasonably priced. Access for disabled was good
As a child we were always terrified of Leasowe Castle. Not this time! Liked the convenience of moving to other locations and the clean fresh air setting.
The furnature, in my room at least, whist more than adequate, did look tired.
Looks nice from outside Good location
Poor facilities Poor decor Lacks atmosphere
Buildings and location Staff seemed friendly and proud of the hotel
Some décor in need of attention and too much dust on window ledges and skirting board in my room. I got impression it hadn't had deep clean or been occupied for some time It was a very noisy Saturday night with rowdy wedding guests (not really hotels fault, but would have been nice to be in wing away from them)
