Warm welcome, delicious breakfasts and thick fluffy towels, would definitely recommend this B&B!
WE CANNOT FAULT THIS B & B
I liked the friendly owners, a good welcome when we came. cool fishpond i backyard. Comfy beds after a long drive. very quiet at nights, very good for me. was recomended a really nice local pub for a meal " the old ship". very clean. Also very cosy breakfast room with full english breakfast.
Lovely breakfast. Owner very pleasant and extremely helpful.
Booked twin room. Was expecting it to be en-suite, but instead bathroom was over the corridor, although it was our own private facility.
Comfortable beds and excellent breakfast.
Our twin room, which we had expected to be en suite, was rather small and had 'private facilities' across the landing. Having said that, we slept very well and didn't have a problem. Perhaps this room could be offered at a lower rate.
Beautiful place to stay with friendly staff. Very clean and neat.
Very friendly Staff - Lovely bedroom - excellent breakfast - Exceptional value for money
Excellent hosts and a great breakfast. Facilities as described.
Despite being a double the room and the en suite were a little on the small side.
Comfortable room just big enough for twin beds Friendly, helpful hosts Good breakfast. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and the sea. Free off-street parking.
Nothing really. If I had to niggle it would be that the parking is a bit tight - in a small front yard, but we managed ok.
Friendliness. Great breakfast and a short all on the shops and the shore.
Breakfast Peace and quiet, Friendly staff, Dog Friendly
Took time to get key and get into room on arrival
The bedroom and bathroom were clean and spacious.
Early morning noise from the kitchen below my bedroom. I also found the TV very small. The scrambled eggs served for breakfast were burnt as were the hash browns.
The rooms were clean and comfortably furnished. However, I felt the room was over-priced at £100.
We were in a bedroom opposite the dining room. Whilst we ordered breakfast for 9am - we were woken by very loud guests having breakfast at 7am - in fact I thought the German guests were in our room with us they were so loud! I also ordered a poached egg for breakfast and it came scrambled - if you genuinely can't remember - just write the order down! Location was sold as being close to Portsmouth - it is a minimum 22 minute drive and the location is poor. It is located in the middle of a housing estate and has no character - it's like staying with elderly relatives.
*understanding, friendly staff -accepted our late arrival * great room, lots of little comforts * very clean * Lovely personalised breakfast *Great location
*lock didn't work in the shower/toilet room
Everything. Our first visit to the area and if we return it will definitely be to Leeward House. Parking was great, convenient to shops and other facilities, including the peaceful beaches. George cooks up a great breakfast with service to match the fresh food.
All of it
Flexability of accommodation, excellent breakfast, parking on site, plenty of good restaurants near.
Improve grouting around bath to get an excellent for facilities!
Everything about this B&B was excellent Lovely room with thoughtful extras Great bathroom with walk in shower Lovely breakfast cooked to order Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts
Good hosts, great room with some nice touches. Breakfast was nice, all in all a pleasant stay.
Location and room excellent
The only slight flaw was that I had to book a time slot for breakfast and as I was working the choice of time was either too early or too late, therefore I had to get up super early for breakfast, however the breakfast was worth the early time, smoked salmon and scrambled egg, delicious.
We had a very friendly reception, the room was comfortable, spacious and clean with a good en suite. Tea, coffee, squash and bottled water provided in the room with biscuits. Breakfasts were good and plentiful. The house is a very short walk from the sea front and the town where we found an excellent Italian restaurant.
Everything! The host was very hospitable despite our late arrival, we had a good night rest and woke up to a wonderful big breakfast prepared by the host himself!
Menu offered something different, but when ordered option wasn't available.
Owner rang at 6pm to say that there was a plumbing problem in one of the 2 rooms we had booked, but everything would be fine. When we arrived at 8.20pm the owner took a long time to answer the door, didn’t invite us in & then talked to us as other guests were coming in. We were told we could only have one of the rooms booked- a very simple question of "Why couldn't you have phoned us earlier than 6pm – as you obviously knew before then you had a problem?" was greeted with extremely rude & hostile retorts saying that he did phone earlier – but there was no answer! (No missed calls or messages on my phone which is connected to the car through Ford Sync Bluetooth) Also “If you're going to use that attitude - I don't want you here!" "What else do you want me to do? It’s not my fault" & "You're getting in the way of my other guests!" We were made to feel most unwelcome & it was obvious he didn’t want us to stay. We didn’t argue with him & stayed calm as we didn’t want him to say he wouldn’t allow any of us to stay there & it would be difficult finding alternative accommodation that late in the evening. He had arranged for 2 of us to have a room in Appletree Cottage – so we drove there to drop our friends off as we had all travelled in the same car. When we arrived at Appletree Cottage the owner, said we could all stop together (which was a lot easier & what we had previously planned) – even though the owner of Leeward House had told us there was only one room vacant. The owner could have told us when he phoned that the room was unavailable. We all felt unwelcome & that he was messing us about. He had no customer service skills whatsoever. The B&B looked full & there were several cars parked outside. If he was full he could just have been honest & owned up – an apology would have been nice & helped to make us feel less of a nuisance.
