Not too far from town centre but far enough to be quiet, it's in a lovely location. It could do with an overall update, it all seems a little dated!

The main hotel was clean and warm, the food excellent and the staff helpful and friendly. The hotel was well placed for all amenities and shops in Buxton and the Opera House was a 5 minute walk away. The annex part of the hotel was not heated, we visited end of Nov 11, so room and bathroom was very cold. The heating was switched on but remained inadequate. We asked to move rooms and the staff obliged immediately. Hence forth we were happy guests.

The restaurant was the best part of our stay, the food was faultless and the service was good. I did not like the decor in the room - it was extremely dated and there was a damp patch on the wall of the bedroom. I do not think the price of the room was reflected in it's size or it's decor - I expected much better. The breakfast (room service) consisted of quite cheap ingredients (esp. The continental breakfast). Overall, I would not stay at this hotel again as I felt it was over priced (you would get a better quality of room at a premiere inn if I'm honest) and we were looking for something a little less rough around the edges.

We stayed 3 nights & ate twice in the restaraunt & the food & service were excellent Also the hotels location is great for walking into town its great to be able to leave the car. This is not a complaint but it would have been nicer if there were more guests,( it felt like we were the only ones at times) I realise that the hotel would think the same & its the time of year (Nov) but as you asked ! We had a great stay & thank you.

I left a list of concerns with management. I will be interested to see if I am contacted by the owner - management. Lack of attention to detail.

Conveneit when passing by It was basic . -No soap, shampoo etc. on the room. In fact I find it insulting to have to buy these things. Never came across this demand in all my life. - No telephone to call for service . In fact no service was available. - No lift or portars to help with the luggage to the 1st floor. - The TV is small and old.

Good choice at breakfast which was cooked to order. For the price we paid, the room was somewhat cramped - long and narrow, the single beds were rather short. I woke up exhausted. Decor was tired, we were unable to make an internet connection, the grubby bath/shower had very low pressure and was scaled up - virtually useless, and the tv was probably about 17 years old. Apart from that everything was fine!

Very spacious en-suite room was clean and well furnished. King size bed was comfortable and the provision of iron, trouser press and hairdryer in the room itself was a welcome bonus, as was availability of an electric fan from reception on very warm nights. Breakfast made an excellent start to the day. All staff encountered were welcoming, pleasant and helpful. We have no complaints whatsover. Parking spaces in hotel grounds were not as plentiful as expected but that was a minor concern that did not spoil our stay.

I stayed hear for whilst visiting the Buxton Opera House, only a 5 minute walk away. Set in beautiful surroundings, the hotel is lovely. My room was spacious with a lovely bathroom & loooked like it may have had a recent re-furb with new carpets & curtains....all very nice. There is a lovely conservatory restaurant looking out over the gardens. A very pleasant stay...wished I could have stayed longer! The only let down was breakfast. No one came to take my order, even though there were only 3 couples having breakfast. I ordered poached eggs but when it came there was only 1 egg and it was hard. The waitress did notice this and offered to change it but as I'd already waited so long I declined. I did notice the waitress apologising to another lady for getting the order wrong. The 2 waiters on duty seemed more interested in setting up the room for lunch/dinner than the guests having breakfast. I wouldn't let the bad experience at breakfast put me off returning to the hotel.

During our 3 night stay at Lee Wood Hotel the staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was a good size, well decorated and equipped. We were able to leave our car safely at the hotel while we explored Buxton on foot. We had a relaxing time. The breakfasts were a very good standard with a wide variety of choices and we were well served by the staff. We would recomend the hotel to our friends.

Breakfast was poor quality, greasy, luke warm. Would have been better with a buffett system. Approx 20 minute walk into town. Steep hills.

Friendly and clean, for a young couple used to travelodges who were visiting Buxton for a treat this had a bit more "oooohhh" factor! Nice touches with the toiletries, Iron and board in the room. Lovely big and comfy bed! Lovely freshly cooked to order breakfast in the pretty conservatory restaurant, alongside buffet cereals, toasts and fruit. Friendly and helpful staff. It was well located for our needs, less than 10 min walk to the Opera House, and we were able to walk to Pooles Cavern (around a mile from the opera house edge of the pavilion gardens) and back up to the hotel. For those with mobility problems should know that the hotel is a slight hill up from the main attractions. All in all, a lovely night spent, and we would visit again if staying in the area.

Pleasant, quiet - at this time of year, and for an out of season weekend , adult orientated. Dinner and breakfast first class. Unprotected gulley - foot wide and approx. Six foot deep unprotected between car park and hotel entrance wall.

We were made very welcome although there were some teething problems with confirming 2 rooms having been booked and also confirming our booking at the gala dinner but the staff were very helpful and obliging and made no fuss. We had a very nice time. The bed in room 26 was very hard and my wife and I did not sleep too well.
