The restaurant was the best part of our stay, the food was faultless and the service was good. I did not like the decor in the room - it was extremely dated and there was a damp patch on the wall of the bedroom. I do not think the price of the room was reflected in it's size or it's decor - I expected much better. The breakfast (room service) consisted of quite cheap ingredients (esp. The continental breakfast). Overall, I would not stay at this hotel again as I felt it was over priced (you would get a better quality of room at a premiere inn if I'm honest) and we were looking for something a little less rough around the edges.

We didn't like any part of it.When we arrived a big wedding party was underway. The guests became more and more rowdy as the evening progressed. We were assigned a room directly opposite the main staircase. The drunken wedding guests were running up and down the stairs and the passages, shouting, swearing, the usual drunken tedious behaviour. We rang downstairs several times without success. There clearly was zero consideration given to how rooms were assigned. We had very sleep that night. We complained the next morning to management and was offered £15 off the tarif, followed up later with an email offering a complimentary nights stay as a gesture.

The staff at Lee Wood Hotel were friendly and welcoming and the food in the restaurant was of a high quality. The hotel was close to town and within walking distance of shops and tourist sttrations We only had a very short stay, but would have no hesitating in returning if the opportunity preented itself

quiet location just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Buxton and the pavilion gardens. Our room was large, very clean and comfortable with a smart bathroom. We ate in the hotel restaurant for 2 nights -food was of a high standard and good value. Staff friendly and helpful- we will definitely come back to this hotel.

The room was odd shaped and stuffy, as we were having mild weather. The breakfast room was devoid of staff, as was, on this date, reception where the resource seemed shared between two areas due to staff shortages. Versus other hotels in the area this is not value for money.

Friendly helpful service. The Gourmet side of things had slipped a little since my last visit - but still much better hotel food than most othetr and often grander hotels. The location is perfect for getting in and out of Manchester and other surrounding cities. Buxton and surrounding countryside is beautiful (particularly when the sun is out) and this along with the hotel itself ensures a relaxing environment after a hard day's work or play. Television reception a little iffy No real desk facilities - but to be honest - I don't think that is so important as its not a business hotel really.

The staff both in reception and the restaurant were polite, professional and showed willing to help in any way they could. The restaurant, excellant for breakast, proved expensive for evening meals. Our party of eight instead went to a local pub.

Pleasant, quiet - at this time of year, and for an out of season weekend , adult orientated. Dinner and breakfast first class. Unprotected gulley - foot wide and approx. Six foot deep unprotected between car park and hotel entrance wall.

We were made very welcome although there were some teething problems with confirming 2 rooms having been booked and also confirming our booking at the gala dinner but the staff were very helpful and obliging and made no fuss. We had a very nice time. The bed in room 26 was very hard and my wife and I did not sleep too well.

Very friendly welcome from all the staff, and throughout the visit. Food that we had was very good (used room service for the evenings). Very easy to walk into town, had no problems with parking at the hotel. Breakfast good. All in all a very pleasant stay!

We had a family gathering at the hotel and we found the staff very flexible with regard to arranging our meal and putting up with latecomers. We were never hurried and the children's appetites were well catered for. The position of the hotel for shopping in Buxton next day was ideal.

It's in Buxton, it's good value for money, cosy, peaceful, relaxing, pleasant "olde worlde" charm Really nice bathroom, very warm throughout hotel, even in the cold spell when we were there Have eaten in hotel on porevious visitsbut did not this time since dinner menu was very limited for nut-avoiding "near-vegans"
