The helpfulness of the staff - reception and breakfast waitress especially. Great value for money - the breakfast was amazing! Easy to get to the town...and great location for local walks. Definitely recommend to others and would stay here again.
If I was to suggest anything at all; it would have been handy to have a gown to wear in the bedroom and also you weren't able to turn the radiator down in the bathroom.
The room was nice and big and very comfortable but then this is regarded as one of the best hotels in Buxton. We were glad to be able to stay in a decent hotel with our dog though the main building was out of bounds.
Because we came with our dog we were put in the annex, a little way and uphill from the main building. Fine until the snow fell and the ground got icy. Grit was not laid and we had a very slippery walk down to breakfast and getting the car out was a nightmare. When I mentioned this to the receptionist she didn't seem particularly concerned, saying they would put grit down later on and that there was grit near the annex if we wanted to put some down ourselves. Next time we'll come in the Summer!
The staff. The location. The room. The food. We really were pleased with our short stay.
The bar area was cold.
Excellent location for a business visit to Buxton. Comfortable room, excellent breakfast and very good value for money.
Staff, position, food and room.
There was no walk in shower and as I am disabled the bath with a shower attachment did not suit my needs.
SERVICE AND FOOD
THE WALK FROM TOWN
Clean well managed facility
The location of the hotel was perfect as we were going to a show at the Opera House which is a short walk away. The breakfast was excellent with a a lot of choices. The room was very comfortable and clean.
There was nothing we did not like.
Everything about the room and bathroom was excellent. Staff first rate for customer service. I also ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious.
There was nothing I didn't like.
Everything!!! especially the bed and the food!!!...and the staff esp Antonio!!
staff hotel location room all great
would have liked a fridge in the room would prefer a full self serve breakfast
Stayed at this hotel with advance booking as we had an event at the Devonshire Dome. It was an excellent hotel in a nice location with a beautiful view and close to the Dome, within 5 minutes walking distance. Rooms were clean and comfy and the breakfast was unforgettable, served in a conservatory style room with great view. We will go back again if we're visiting Buxton in the future :)
No negative issues to point out!
Cleanliness and comfort of room, excellent evening meal and breakfast.Staff were pleasant and helpful.
We were unable to get a drink from the bar before our evening meal and after because of groups of young people who were attending a funeral. They wouldn't move when asked by my husband they were abusive and disrespectful. We went to our room at 9pm because the language they were using was unexceptable. All it needed was management intervension. Between 1am and 5am we had no sleep as people were coming and going from the room next to us knocking on the door and calling out for someone to undo the door. They even knocked on our door at 5am. A lovely hotel spoilt by these two issues.
Lovely overnight stay.Staff excellent. Room lovely.food excellent.
bed was a little hard for my personal choice
Only stopped one night, all the staff I spoke to were very polite, will stop again, next time for longer.
Room was too hot and unable to adjust. Also you could hear toilet and shower from next door quite loud.
everything. what a smashing hotel.all the staff were so very good.
All staff were attentive and genuinely interested in helping. Very good service all round.
Friendly staff. Clean room, had everything you would expect to find in a Best Western.
Parking was a bit tricky - we ended up on the road outside, which was fine but unexpected. The décor throughout was rather dated.
Dinner and breakfast very good
Walls a bit thin...woken by people in corridor
Very clean with good decor, excellent evening meal with good staff.
nothing at that price
The staff were amazing, very friendly, welcoming and professional. The rooms were very well presented and spotlessly clean. Location great for a walk into the town centre. Will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive, but quality stay in Buxton
The noisy people in the room next to us (no reflection on hotel though)
Stayed here with my two nephews on our trip to Alton Towers. Had no concerns about anything. It was a very enjoyable stay. Will return again.
Great views and location was good Room was comfortable
Evening meal service was poor Wine not poured starters dropped on floor
