Sensationelle Lage am Fluss mit Garten, Wasservögeln und toller Aussicht auf Kathedrale von Salisbury,Grossartiges Frühstücksbuffet

Die Lage am Avon mit Ausblick auf die Kathedrale, es gibt einen schönen Garten. Das Hotel ist sehr ruhig und liegt nah am Stadtzentrum.

Ruhige Lage, wunderschöne Aussicht über Fluss und Wiesen bis hin zur Kathedrale. Grosses, konfortables Zimmer und Bad. Charmantes Ambiente. Grosser Parkplatz.

Schlecht regulierbare Heizung (bullig heiss oder kalt), Sauberkeit/Hygiene entspricht (meiner Erfahrung) durchaus englischem Standard, von uns aber eher als "unbefriedigend" empfunden. (Nicht gespültes Teegeschirr, Teppich wurde m.E. seit seiner Verlegung nicht mehr gesaugt)

Wir hatten ein Zimmer im neuen Anbau direkt an einem kleinen Fluss. Das Zimmer liegt im Gartenbereich, der sehr schön angelegt ist. Es war sauber und auf dem technischen Standard kontinentaler Hotels. Obwohl das Hotel am Stadtrand liegt sind es nur wenige Minuten bis zum Zentrum.

Laut Angaben auf der Webseite übernachten Kinder unter 12 Jahren kostenlos im Hotel, leider bekamen wir kein seperates Bett. Wobei ich nicht weiß wieweit dieser Service in GB verbreitet ist.

extrem ruhig, gediegen, sauber und comfortabel - tolle Lage am Avon mit lauschiger Gartenanlage - reichhaltiges Frühstück in gepflegtem und gemütlichem Frühstücksraum - super!!! Schade, dass es nur für eine Nacht war.....

Beautiful outdoor area setting on the banks of the river Avon. Good location, easy walk into centre of town. Clean and comfortable rooms.

The lovely sertting and the ancient ambience were just what we needed for a relaxing vacation.

Breakfast with the view of the river and willow, the smell of roses, closeness to the cathedral and old town.

The breakfast buffet was a bit poor but OK.

The historical nature of the hotel -- the 13th century portion of the hotel has been beautifully preserved and updated, and has amazing atmosphere. The room gave directly onto the garden via a door, and the garden is right on the River Avon, and you can see the spire of Salisbury Cathedral beyond -- an amazing and lovely experience. We sat in the garden and drank in the history and atmosphere.

Despite the fact that there were only two parties in the dining room for dinner, it took over two hours for the dinner service from the time we sat down to the time we got the bill -- and this for sandwiches. The staff seemed to be a little disorganized and disaffected -- the sense was that at the front desk through to the bar and the restaurant, there was no management.

The view across the river Avon was pastorial and soo relaxing, with swans on the river (which I understand people can swim in although too cold when we were there) and sheep in the meadow on the other side with the spires of the cathedral visible above the treeline. In fact, a painting of that scene hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY, I am told. Area is charming, roses everywhere.

Our room was in a modern wing which had every comfort -- a great relief after a few unhappy nights in an old inn -- but it was also the last room and farthest from the desk so we did not receive the heat we needed at first. But they brought us an extra heater which took care of that. The mattress, also, seemed to be made like those throwaway pillows in hospitals and airplanes.

Good location. Clean, comfortable and nice size room. Friendly and helpful staff. Good choice on menu.

Excellent situation, overlooking the River Avon and Cathedral beyond. Just 10 min walk from City centre.
