A 5-minute walk from Salisbury Cathedral, The Lazy Cow has a steakhouse restaurant and a modern, boutique feel. The refurbished rooms have a creative décor, an iPod dock, and free Wi-Fi access.

The Cathedral Hotel dates from the 18th-century and offers contemporary style and comfort within the heart of Salisbury city centre.

the staff were very accommodating and friendly.
I thought that the hotel was more of a three star property given the decor than 4 stars and therefore was very expensive. There was a wedding on the night we stayed which was incredibly loud, even though our room was at the other end of the hotel
nice location by the river and 15min walk into town
one milk in the bedroom tray was 4 months out of date and came out as a lump !!!
Good location, close to Stonehenge and Salisbury city centre. Friendly staff. Nice room.
Hot breakfast wasn't included in price for bed and breakfast.
Lovely friendly hotel, now the only place I'll stay in sailsbury.
Being able to walk into town via the cathedral grounds
Continental breakfast was better than expected with a good choice.Hotel was in a excellent location on the banks of the River Avon and within ten minutes walk to the centre of Salsbury.
Room cleanliness could have been better, there were cobwebs on the bedside lights and no mattress or pillow protectors on the bed and the pillows were badly stained. The cheesy piped music in all the public areas must go.Also we ate in the Hotel on our first night of three and the meal and drinks were the most expensive in Salisbury.
Lovely large room, well furnished with great views over the gardens and river. friendly staff and nice dining room for breakfast the next morning, also nice to have continental included and option for upgrading to full english,
Staff Facilities Location
Location close to the city centre and cathedral; room with view on the cathedral and the river; cleanliness.
Breakfast included in the price is quite limited.
Ground floor with garden and chairs lovely . Clean bathroom toilet facilities.
The room was cold we had to ask for extra milk for coffee. Cooked breakfast was extra rooms not cheap should be included.
The venue was in an excellent position for ease of walking into Salisbury. Lovely view of the river and Cathedral from the bedrooms. Staff were happy and helpful all the time. Good menu.
The outside of the Hotel could do with a bit of a cleanup especially the windows.
We thought the hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting and very convenient for the town centre. Good value for money too.
Would have like to have more choices on the dinner menu
Great setting. Lovely room.
Beautiful restaurant, but a menu that would be better suited to a Premier Inn. A hotel like this should have a strong a la carte menu and a top chef. Menu offers "fresh cheese". What exactly is fresh cheese? The hotel's web site is deliberately vague and a little misleading on the subject of food, simply explaning the restaurant rating system, without saying how their own food is rated. Also a very disappoining selection of ales in the bar. The whole approach to food and drink needs to be refreshed and brought into line with the type of fine dining experience customers expect in this type of hotel and price range.
the lovely calm river next to the hotel
Location within Salisbury is excellent, astride the river was lovely as was all the outdoor spaces, size of the room was good and the majority of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was not great, we knew it was continental but the variety was limited, and the charges for anything cooked were excessive considering a weatherspoon's is only a ten minute walk away, so in our opinion they have got that aspect of a hotel stay wrong. Cleanliness of the room was less than expected, our room was never vacuumed once and our bed linen was not changed in five days even though it was August and very hot, so overall disappointing.
Good location, really comfortable and clean.
The riverside setting Excellent Executive rooms Excellent position from which to walk into Salisbury
Loosing the quiet and relaxing gardens and patio area to the wedding celebration on one day of the weekend. Restaurant food a little disappointing, but plenty of other good restaurants within walking distance
Booked this hotel at the last minute knowing really nothing about it. We were received warmly and were delighted with the location on the river complete with swans and lambs on the shore which we had full view of from our rooms . Would return in a heartbeat.
The location of the hotel, in easy walking distance of the City Centre, was excellent and was beautifully located next to the river. The room that we had was spacious and well-appointed, and offered an excellent view of the garden and river. All the hotel facilities were well thought-out.
The menu on offer did not reflect the standard of the rest of the hotel facilities, and the quality of the food was also a good way below the level that we would expect from a hotel of this quality. We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights, but did eat there again after the first night. Fortunately, there were restaurants in the city centre which did offer excellent food, and which the hotel would do well to emulate.
Liked the friendly staff and tasteful rooms.
Nothing to dislike.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the bed was very comfortable
The room was run down, however we had a four poster which was great. The cleaners should look up as dust, spiders and dead flies hung about! Coffee machine not emptied or cleaned. Go out to eat in the evening!
The views were excellent The room was a delight. The staff were pleasant
150 pounds per room was too much.
The hotel's setting by the river. The hotel's restaurant was excellent. The rooms were certainly more spacious than we expected which was nice. We were lucky to have a first floor room with walk out to the patio and garden.
The ceilings, at least in the newer section where we stayed, certainly need insulation to quiet the noise from the room above. We were fortunate that there was a quite elderly couple in the room above us! You could hear everything!!
