The Legacy Rose & Crown Hotel    

Great access to city. Good bird watching from breakfast venue. Good range of food for breakfast. Very comfortable bed.

The location and setting of this hotel are excellent. The river view, which includes farm pasture and the Cathedral is idyllic. We saw ducks, swans and bright blue kingfisher on the river, while lambs were prancing around in the field across. Our "room with a view" was nice, clean and comfortable.

Location and general aspect.

Shower didn't work properly and power light on TV was far too bright. Both simple to resolve.

Fabulous location with views across the Avon to the cathedral and only a short walk to both cathedral and town.Staff all friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable.

Shortage of restaurant staff meant dinner was a slow process. There were only 8 people in the restaurant and service was very attentive when it arrived.

The hotel had very friendly and helpful staff, and could not be faulted,The room was adequate and clean,All though it seems that we did not have the room we paid for as it should have been in the old part of the Hotel, The room we had can only be described as a ( Premier in type) and not Luxury by any standard, We will not be staying again.

Location very good for access to town, yet very peaceful. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Room spacious, well equipped and great view of river. Good parking. Buffet breakfast good variety.

The restaurant service! Very slow; we waited nearly an hour in a restaurant that had view clients.They twice forgot to bring items requested; brought mixed toast when we'd asked for brown (why ask?). Waiter very 'dozy' and low on intr-pesonal skills and charisma! Food not reliable - first night excellent, last night diabolical - over re-heated belly pork in a gloopy drying sauce poured over the crackling which no longer crackled, accompanied by overcooked cabbage which was reminiscent of school dinners. We did not dare risk a dessert. On the positive side, but when asked at check-out if everything had been ok we did mention our disappointment with the meal and were given a full re- fund, which we had not requested or expected. Excellent pr.

We visited the R&C as a couple for monday break from London. Lovely room with the River Avon view just outside bedroom window. Great to see Kingfishers, mallards, moorhens, lambs and chickens by the bankside. Room clean and tastefully furnished.

The Hotel has a great facade coachhouse but the interior is 1980s decor. The hotel staff were brusque and sometimes seemed put out by guests presence. We ate an evening meal and concluded that food is over priced and poor quality. The hotel is not a short walk from town centre.

It was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful. The location was great just a ten minute walk to the centre of town. Would recommend this to friends and family and stay here again.

Great location only a short walk to the Cathedral and City centre. Lovely old period Hotel well located next to thr river and set in nice grounds. Very efficient and helpful staff.

Having booked a top of the range executive room we were appalled by the fact that being on ground floor we could here every footstep from the room above via very creaky floorboards. The people above us rose very early on Sunday morning and their endless walking around woke us up and meant constant disturbance. The shower was broken and could not get any cold water hence had to have a scalding shower. The breakfast was very poor for such a Hotel unless you opt for the full English at an extra £15 !!

The hotel was incredibly hot and it absolutely wreaked of a ghastly air freshener. What has it to hide? The breakfast was appalling, and the £5 surcharge (later refunded) for the full English was disgraceful. The hotel was very poor value for money.

room 23 had very squeaky floorboards which were very annoying in room 17 - executive rooms shouldn't have family rooms above? wireless internet you had to keep redoing each time the phone turned off.

The view from the bedroom window was one of the best I have had. Looking across the River Avon directly at Salisbury Cathedral.

Lack of choice for vegetarians in the Avon bar menu if you only wanted a bar meal.

We were pleased with this hotel and would stay there again if we stayed in Wiltshire. Although the price would have to be right for us as we are disable.

Because we made a mistake with the dates the hotel charged us £30.00 more. Therefore the Friday night stay was expensive and we would not stay there for £95 which is what we was charged I also found it very difficult in getting a response to my telephone calls which became a nightmare

Staff were all personable, helpful and attentive to my needs. 5 mins walk from cathedral and shops. Beautiful location on the banks of the Avon, had breakfast with Kingfishers on the river every morning. Excellent hotel Very Very pleased would stay again.

Staff was very attentive and responsive to our needs. Our room provided a great view of the Cathedral and river. Continental breakfast was good.

Convenience of location. Pricing on this occasion competitive with Grassmere (this varies). Good car parking. Comfortable room.

Acute frustration with the advertised wi-fi. On each occasion, we found ourselves in a loop between a questionnaire (which we had to complete many times) and an advert/booking form for Legacy Hotels. Wasted a lot of time. Never discovered how to break out!

Comfortable hotel in very good location for access to city. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money. Free and ample parking.
